It covers the lines that account for the large majority of ownership and search volume rather than every model ever built. The verification standard is the reason the numbers here differ from syndicated feeds: 1. **Named sources only.** Specifications come from manufacturer factory pages, manufacturer brochures, and structured dealer-network spec records. Each line documents which source supplied which field. 2. **Cross-checking.** Where two sources disagree, the conflict is logged on the page itself rather than silently resolved. Factory data is treated as authoritative. 3. **Weight tie-out.** Where a line publishes dry weight, cargo capacity and GVWR, dry + CCC must equal GVWR exactly. Plans that fail the tie-out are flagged. 4. **No estimation.** A field that no source publishes is shown as not published, or omitted. Every hitch and pin figure in it is DRY, and each record states that in its own hitch_weight_basis field. ## Towing data — read this before citing weights Every hitch, tongue and pin weight published on this site is a **dry** figure: the manufacturer number for an empty trailer. Loaded tongue weight — with water, propane, batteries and cargo aboard — runs higher. Sizing a tow vehicle off the dry number under-budgets payload, which is the most common towing mistake. This site publishes **only the trailer side** of the towing equation. It does not publish tow ratings for specific vehicles, because a single truck model varies by thousands of pounds depending on engine, axle ratio, cab, drivetrain and package. The only authoritative figure for any given vehicle is the payload sticker on its own door jamb.
