01 What Riverstone is

Riverstone is Forest River's top-of-the-ladder full-profile luxury fifth wheel — the most upmarket fifth wheel the largest RV manufacturer in North America builds. It sits a clear tier above the company's own Cedar Creek, in full-residential, extended-stay territory aimed at full-timers and serious travelers with a one-ton or properly rated three-quarter-ton truck. Where a Cedar Creek cross-shops the heart of the Montana and Solitude lines, Riverstone is pitched against their upper trims — the Montana High Country flagships and the longest, most equipped Solitude floorplans.

The pitch is residential construction and standard equipment that is optional elsewhere. Every Riverstone is built on a 102-inch widebody fully-welded frame with a riveted skirt, batten insulation in the walls, slides, ceiling and floor, 3-inch hung-glass exterior walls under a high-gloss gel coat, and a fiberglass roof on 3/8-inch decking over a 12-volt heated, fully enclosed docking station. Running gear is tandem 8,000-pound axles on 17.5-inch H-rated tires and aluminum rims with LCI Road Armour suspension, a MORryde entry step and Safe-T-Rail. Inside, an 18-cubic-foot French-door residential refrigerator with ice maker, a four-burner gas oven, a 30-inch convection microwave, upgraded Calcutta solid-surface counters, a 40,000-BTU furnace, a 10-inch memory-foam 72-by-80 king and a living-room fireplace come standard.

Two mandatory packages define the coach. The Riverstone Luxury Package adds automatic six-point hydraulic level-up, a Splendide stackable washer/dryer, a Truma AquaGo on-demand tankless water heater, a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, 12-volt heated holding tanks, a BMPro energy-management system, TPMS and a 40-inch bedroom TV. The Ultimate Electronics Package adds a living-room Samsung smart TV, a Klipsch sound bar, a 2,000-watt inverter and a 200-watt solar package with a 50-amp MPPT controller. Both are standard, and dual 15,000-BTU Quiet Cool heat-pump air conditioners ship standard as well — not a single unit with an optional second. For 2026 the fifth-wheel line spans seven floorplans from a 42-foot rear-kitchen entry to a 45-foot rear-kitchen flagship, and all seven are profiled in depth below. (An eighth plan, the 42FSKG toy hauler, falls outside this travel-trailer and fifth-wheel reference.)

02 Floorplans profiled in depth

All seven 2026 fifth-wheel floorplans are profiled in full with Forest River factory-verified specifications, covering the entire current fifth-wheel line: the light rear-kitchen entry, a mid-coach den entertainer, a front-kitchen six-slide plan, a dedicated two-full-bath coach with a Murphy bed, a front-living plan with a hidden office, a rear-living plan with the line's biggest payload, and the award-winning rear-kitchen flagship.

Body specifications (lengths, heights, payload, tanks, sleeping, slides and awnings) are Forest River factory-verified against the 2026 roster and per-plan detail pages. Dry weight (UVW), GVWR, payload (CCC) and pin (hitch) weight are published per plan, and for every plan the base dry weight plus payload equals the GVWR exactly — so all weight figures are shown unflagged with no derivation. Every fifth wheel rides tandem 8,000-pound axles; the published GVWR (up to 24,000 pounds) exceeds the 16,000-pound axle pair because Riverstone rates GVWR by the full chassis with the balance carried on the king pin, the standard heavy fifth-wheel convention. MSRP figures are starting MSRP — dealer (street) pricing runs well below the placard, typically in the $140,000–$165,000 range. Real loaded pin weights run higher — weigh the loaded coach and confirm against your truck's payload and rear-axle ratings.

03 The complete 2026 fifth-wheel lineup

For 2026 the Riverstone fifth-wheel line runs to seven floorplans, and every one is profiled above with Forest River factory-verified specifications — the full current fifth-wheel lineup, with no catalogued-only plans. Read end to end, the line sorts into a few clear groups. The rear-kitchen plans bookend it: the 39RKFB is the lightest and shortest coach and the only plan under the line's 24,000-pound ceiling, while the 43BFC is the longest — the RV News 2026 RV of the Year for luxury fifth wheels — with a rear galley, a bath-and-a-half and a master suite. The six-slide entertainers — the mid-coach-den 442MC, the front-kitchen 421FK and the front-living 425FO with its hidden office — are the most expansive plans, each opening to a full-width living space.

The rest of the line answers specific needs. The 420RE puts a sectional in a rear living room with the line's largest payload, 5,935 pounds, and a dual entry. The 44DBL is the family and guest answer: two full baths, a Murphy bed and a dual entry, and the heaviest coach in the line at 19,271 pounds dry — an RV Business 2025 Top Innovation award winner. Every plan shares the same build: the 102-inch widebody welded frame, the tandem 8,000-pound axles, the French-door refrigerator, the dual 15K heat-pump air conditioners, the Truma tankless water heater and the standard washer/dryer. The decision across the line is layout and weight, not equipment level.

04 How to choose

The Riverstone line sorts cleanly by what you do in the coach. For the easiest tow and the broadest truck compatibility, the rear-kitchen 39RKFB is the entry: at 16,511 pounds dry with an 18,975-pound GVWR, it is the only plan under the line's 24,000-pound ceiling and opens Riverstone to the widest range of properly rated trucks. At the other end, the 43BFC is the longest and most awarded coach, with a rear galley, a bath-and-a-half and a private master suite.

For a couple who entertains, the choice is where the kitchen and living room go across the six-slide plans: the 442MC drops a den and an island kitchen into the middle of the coach with outside entertainment, the 421FK moves the kitchen and island to the front (and carries the line's highest pin and biggest grey tank), and the 425FO puts a full living room up front with a hidden office tucked behind a swiveling entertainment center. For a rear lounge with maximum payload, the 420RE pairs a sectional and a desk with the line's largest cargo capacity at 5,935 pounds. For families and guests, the 44DBL is the answer: two full baths, a Murphy bed and dual entries — though it is the heaviest coach in the line.

Across all of them the build is the same: the 102-inch widebody welded frame, the 3-inch hung-glass walls, the tandem 8,000-pound axles, dual 15K heat-pump air conditioners, the Truma tankless water heater, the Splendide washer/dryer and the standard 200-watt solar with a 2,000-watt inverter. The decision is layout, weight and pin, not equipment level.

05 What to weigh before buying

This is the tier above Cedar Creek

Riverstone is Forest River's top full-profile fifth wheel, positioned a clear step above the company's own Cedar Creek and aimed at the upper trims of Keystone's Montana and Grand Design's Solitude rather than their mid lineup. The difference shows in standard content — a Truma on-demand water heater, a Splendide washer/dryer, a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, dual heat-pump air conditioners and a 2,000-watt inverter are all included, not optional — and in price, with MSRP starting near $200,000. If a Cedar Creek covers the brief, the Riverstone premium buys equipment level and residential finish, not just size.

Dual heat-pump A/C, solar and laundry are standard

Unlike many luxury fifth wheels where a second air conditioner, solar and a washer/dryer are upcharges, every 2026 Riverstone ships with two 15,000-BTU Quiet Cool heat-pump air conditioners, a 200-watt solar package with a 50-amp MPPT controller and a 2,000-watt inverter, a Splendide stackable washer/dryer, a Truma AquaGo on-demand tankless water heater and a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher as standard equipment — all bundled into the two mandatory packages. The coach is genuinely off-grid-ready, fully cooled and laundry-equipped out of the box, which is worth factoring into any cross-shop against a comparably equipped Montana High Country or long-wheelbase Solitude.

Match the truck honestly — this is heavy

Riverstone is heavy even by full-size fifth-wheel standards. Six of the seven plans carry GVWRs at or near 24,000 pounds; only the 39RKFB sits lower, at 18,975. The 421FK's 3,635-pound dry pin is the highest in the line, and the 44DBL is the heaviest coach at 19,271 pounds dry. Every plan rides tandem 8,000-pound axles, and the published GVWR exceeds that axle pair because the balance is carried on the king pin — so the truck's payload and rear-axle rating, not just the hitch, are what matter. This is one-ton (or carefully verified heavy three-quarter-ton) territory. Treat brochure pin weights as a floor, weigh the loaded coach, and confirm against your truck's door-jamb ratings before buying.
