01 What makes it unique
The 27FB solves a problem the shorter plans can't: it fits a true walk-around bed. The queen sits forward with room to pass on both sides — a small luxury that, at this length, separates the 27FB from the wall-mounted beds in tighter layouts.
Behind it sits a side lounge and a separated bathroom, with a rear dinette anchoring the living end. It's one of only two Flying Clouds — the 25FB is the other — offered with the rear hatch and the blacked-out Midnight Flamingo package, which has made it one of the more sought-after sizes on the used market.
It is also squarely a mid-heavy trailer. At 5,950 pounds dry, 7,600 GVWR, and 850 on the hitch, the 27FB wants a capable mid-size or full-size truck with proper weight distribution — more tow vehicle than its tidy single-axle-looking profile suggests, though it rides on two torsion axles like the rest of the line.

03 Flying Cloud floorplan family
The current Flying Cloud line — five floorplans from a 23-foot couples' layout to a 30-foot family bunk build. The 27FB on this page is highlighted; each other plan links to its own profile.
| Floorplan | Nominal | Bedroom | Sleeps | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 23FB | 23 ft | Front | 4 | Lightest; U-dinette, rear bath |
| 25FB | 25 ft | Front | 6 | Best-seller; convertible lounge |
| 27FB | 28 ft | Front | 5 | Walk-around queen + side lounge |
| 28RB | 28 ft | Rear | 6 | Rear bedroom, larger galley |
| 30FB Bunk | 31 ft | Front | 8 | Family bunks; sleeps 8 |
Most plans also come in a Twin-bed configuration sharing the parent shell. Four 2025-and-earlier layouts (25RB, 26RB, 30FB Office, 30RB) were discontinued for 2026 and are documented separately.
04 What owners & reviewers report
Walk-around bed
Rare at this length — the queen sits forward with floor on both sides, a comfort the shorter front-bedroom plans can't match.
Rear hatch option
One of two plans (with the 25FB) offered with the rear hatch and Midnight Flamingo package, which keeps resale demand strong.
Real tongue weight
At 850 lb on the hitch and 7,600 lb loaded, plan on a capable truck and a weight-distribution hitch — not a light-duty pairing.
Seal upkeep matters
As across the brand, owners flag water intrusion at windows and seams when seals aren't maintained on schedule. Verify service history on used units.
05 How it compares
Two feet shorter and ~300 lb lighter, with a convertible rear lounge instead of a side lounge. The volume seller of the line.
Adds bunks, a private queen, dual A/C, and room for eight — at 750 lb more dry weight and a 900 lb tongue. A full-size-truck trailer.
Same length, bedroom moved to the rear for a larger front living space — the choice between circling the bed and opening up the lounge.
