01 What makes it unique
The 240RK led every other North Trail floorplan in live listings on the 10 July 2026 probe, and the layout explains it: the galley takes the entire rear wall — counter run no mid-kitchen matches at this length — a single slide opens the living area, the bedroom holds the front, and two entry doors keep kitchen traffic and bedroom traffic separate. A 20-foot awning covers the camp side.
The build is the full North Trail package: CoreShield 2-inch vacuum-bonded laminated walls and floor with Azdel both sides on the Norco Z-frame with integrated A-frame, TrussXL truss under the limited-lifetime PVC roof, the ThermaShield zero-to-one-hundred-degree package, the 13,500-BTU Quiet Series ducted air (a second 13,500-BTU bedroom unit is optional on select plans), 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, 11-cubic-foot Invision 12-volt refrigerator, 200-watt PowerUp solar, TPMS and a power tongue jack — with two 30-pound LP bottles on this plan where the compacts carry 20s. The printed 7,400-pound GVWR equals 5,790 dry plus 1,610 cargo exactly.
Rear kitchens carry their weight aft, which is part of why the tongue stays at a friendly 705 pounds — and why loaded balance deserves attention when the rear storage fills. The 55/61/30.5 tank group finally gives the grey side real capacity. Like the 190MB and 210MB, this plan skips the standard fireplace; buyers who want it should read the 250CK.

03 North Trail floorplan family
Heartland's North Trail line — the laminated half-ton tier of the Jayco-era relaunch: nine 2026 floorplans built on CoreShield 2-inch vacuum-bonded sidewalls and floors with Azdel composite on both faces, a Norco Z-frame with an integrated A-frame, the ThermaShield zero-to-one-hundred-degree package, a 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, an 11-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator, 200 watts of rooftop solar and a 55-gallon fresh tank standard line-wide. Six plans are profiled in depth; the full roster lives on the North Trail hub with verified weights.
| Floorplan | Nominal | Sleeps | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|
| 14UL | 19 ft | 3 | Ultra-light single-axle compact (no Z-frame integrated A-frame) — catalogued on the hub |
| 190MB | 23 ft | 4 | Entry Murphy-bed slide — catalogued on the hub |
| 210MB | 25 ft | 4 | Murphy-bed laminated compact — second-most-listed plan |
| 220MB | 27 ft | 4 | Murphy plan with bike door and outdoor griddle — catalogued on the hub |
| 240RK | 29 ft | 4 | Rear-kitchen dual-entry — the most-listed North Trail |
| 250CK | 30 ft | 4 | Center-kitchen rear-bath — the balanced couples pick |
| 260MK | 31 ft | 2 | Dual-slide couples plan — factory-rated for two |
| 260DB | 33 ft | 8 | Double-bunk family plan with kayak door |
| 270CK | 33 ft | 4 | Line flagship — dual slides, desk workspace, dual awnings |
Every North Trail is a CoreShield vacuum-bonded laminate on the Norco Z-frame (the 14UL compact skips the integrated A-frame). This is a published-GVWR-clean line: on every profiled plan the factory page prints a GVWR and dry weight plus cargo capacity sums to it exactly. Non-Murphy plans carry a 72-by-80 residential king; Murphy plans a 60-by-76 queen. One factory field is unreliable: the spec table repeats the air-conditioner rating in the furnace slot on every plan, so the furnace rating is left unpublished here (logged). RVUSA MSRPs run about $750 below current factory Base MSRP, and the 250CK black tank is a logged factory-versus-brochure conflict (30.5 vs 38 gallons; factory favored). Always confirm against the unit's weight sticker before towing.
04 What owners & reviewers report
The volume plan
Most live listings of any North Trail floorplan on the 10 Jul 2026 probe — the layout the market has picked.
A rear kitchen’s balance
Weight aft keeps the tongue light at 705 pounds, but heavy rear-storage loading can shift balance — weigh the loaded rig, tongue included.
Two doors, one cook
The second entry serves the galley end directly — the traffic-flow feature rear kitchens need and rarely get at this price.
No fireplace on this plan
One of the three plans without the standard 5,000-BTU fireplace — the 250CK and up carry it.
05 How it compares
The center-kitchen alternative — the fireplace comes standard and the bath moves rearward, at the same Base MSRP.
The Murphy compact — 690 pounds lighter and $2,250 less, trading the rear galley and second door.
The laminated rear-kitchen field one price notch up — the 240RK counter is standard solar, TPMS and the printed factory price.
