01 What makes it unique

The 25FB is the trailer that launched the Trade Wind line in September 2023 — Airstream's answer to serious off-grid travel. It places a front queen (or twins) over a 26-foot dual-axle body, with a U-shaped convertible dinette up front and a residential rear bath. It can be ordered with or without the optional rear hatch, which opens the back wall for views, airflow, or gear. It sleeps four.

The off-grid system is the headline: 810 amp-hours of heated Battle Born lithium in an insulated under-floor box — which, by sitting low and central rather than on the tongue, keeps the hitch weight to a reasonable 885 pounds — feeding a 3,000W inverter and topped up by 600W of roof solar plus a DC-to-DC charger from the tow vehicle. That's enough to run the outlets, the convection microwave, and even the 15,000 BTU air conditioner overnight without shore power. A 3-inch lift and 16-inch all-terrain tires handle the terrain; a manual awning and manual stabilizers keep it simple.

At 6,200 pounds dry against a 7,300-pound GVWR it carries a usable 1,100-pound payload — far more headroom than the compact 23FB — and stands a full 10 feet tall with the A/C and lift, so mind low clearances. MSRP starts at $130,900, about $10,000 over the 23FB for the extra length and capacity.

03 Trade Wind floorplan family

The current Trade Wind line — two dual-axle off-grid floorplans, each offered in queen or twin bedroom configurations. The 25FB on this page is highlighted.

A third plan — the Trade Wind 27FB — was revealed in spring 2026 and joins the line for Model Year 2027 with an expanded layout and energy system; its full specifications publish once it reaches production.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Most off-grid-capable Airstream

An 810Ah heated Battle Born lithium bank, a 3,000W inverter, roof solar, and a DC-to-DC charger let it run the A/C and microwave off battery with no shore power.

Under-floor battery box

Mounting the 810Ah bank low and central keeps the tongue weight to 885 lb despite all the hardware.

Optional rear hatch

Can be ordered with or without the rear hatch that opens the back wall for views, airflow, or gear.

Stands 10 feet tall

The 3" lift plus rooftop A/C puts it at a full 10 ft — check garage and clearance heights.
