01 What makes it unique
The 20FB steps up from the 16RB in the way that matters most to a lot of shoppers: it has a full bathroom. A separate shower and toilet — and with them, separate grey and black tanks — replace the 16RB's wet bath. The queen moves forward into a wrap of panoramic windows, the full bath takes the rear, and the galley runs along the side.
Weight stays manageable at 3,900 pounds dry, 625 on the hitch, and a 5,000-pound GVWR — still within range of a mid-size truck or a large SUV. Tanks run 23 fresh, 30 grey, 18 black; climate comes from a 13,500-BTU heat-pump air conditioner and an 18,000-BTU furnace. The optional DUNE package adds 200 watts of rooftop solar and a 200Ah lithium battery for genuine off-grid stays.
The 20FB is the sensible middle of the Bambi line: a real bathroom and a bright front bedroom without the length and bulk of the 22-footer. The forward bed does put more weight on the tongue than the rear-bath 22FB — worth noting when matching it to a tow vehicle.

03 Bambi floorplan family
The current Bambi line — three single-axle floorplans from a 16-foot wet-bath layout to a 22-foot full-rear-bath build. The 20FB on this page is highlighted; each other plan links to its own profile.
| Floorplan | Nominal | Bedroom | Sleeps | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 16RB | 16 ft | Rear | 4 | Lightest; wet bath, rear bed |
| 20FB | 20 ft | Front | 4 | Panoramic front bed, full bath |
| 22FB | 22 ft | Front | 4 | Largest; full rear bath, 54" bed |
The 19CB corner-bed floorplan was part of the Bambi line through roughly 2024 and was dropped for the 2025 model year; it is documented separately as a discontinued plan. The Caravel line shares Bambi's shell and floorplans with upscale trim.
04 What owners & reviewers report
Full bath, compact size
A separate shower and toilet — with their own grey and black tanks — is the headline upgrade over the 16RB, in a trailer still under 21 feet.
Panoramic front bed
The queen sits in a wrap of front windows with blackout shades — bright by day, private at night, a signature Bambi view.
Built for off-grid
The optional DUNE package (200W rooftop solar + 200Ah lithium) makes the 20FB a credible boondocker for its size.
Tongue weight runs higher
At 625 lb, the forward bed puts more on the hitch than the rear-bath 22FB — match it to a capable mid-size tow vehicle.
05 How it compares
Shorter and ~750 lb lighter, with a wet bath and a single combined waste tank — the most SUV-friendly Airstream.
A foot longer with a bigger 54-inch bed and a full-width rear bath, at the same 5,000-lb GVWR but lower tongue weight.
The same shell and floorplan in Airstream's upscale Caravel trim — higher-end fixtures, higher price.
