01 What makes it unique

The 22FB is the top of the Bambi line. A full bathroom spans the entire rear of the trailer — shower with a seat and an opening window — while the largest bed in the line, a 54-by-80 queen, sits forward. A U-shaped dinette, the most galley and storage Bambi offers, and a full-height wood divider for bedroom privacy round out the most livable single-axle layout Airstream builds.

It carries that extra room without leaving the easy-tow class: 3,900 pounds dry, a 5,000-pound GVWR, and just 525 pounds on the hitch. The rear bath is the reason tongue weight comes in below the shorter 20FB. Tanks run 23 fresh, 30 grey, 17 black; a 4.1-cubic-foot fridge, a 13,500-BTU heat-pump A/C, and an 18,000-BTU furnace handle the rest, with the DUNE solar-and-lithium package available for off-grid trips.

The 22FB is for buyers who want the most space and the biggest bed while staying on a single axle that a mid-size truck can tow comfortably. The forward-bed, rear-bath split gives it the most separation and the most balanced weight distribution in the line.

03 Bambi floorplan family

The current Bambi line — three single-axle floorplans from a 16-foot wet-bath layout to a 22-foot full-rear-bath build. The 22FB on this page is highlighted; each other plan links to its own profile.

FloorplanNominalBedroomSleepsNotable

22FB22 ftFront4Largest; full rear bath, 54" bed

The 19CB corner-bed floorplan was part of the Bambi line through roughly 2024 and was dropped for the 2025 model year; it is documented separately as a discontinued plan. The Caravel line shares Bambi's shell and floorplans with upscale trim.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Biggest bed, most space

A 54-by-80 queen and the line's largest galley and storage make the 22FB the most livable Bambi for longer stays.

Full-width rear bath

The rear bath spans the trailer, with a seated shower and an opening window — a genuine bathroom, not a wet-bath compromise.

Best weight balance

Putting the bath at the rear drops tongue weight to 525 lb — lower than the shorter 20FB — for easy, stable towing.

Still single-axle nimble

At under 22 feet on one axle, it parks and maneuvers far more easily than the dual-axle Flying Cloud trailers above it.

05 How it compares

↓ Step down
Bambi 20FB

A foot shorter with a smaller front bed and a rear three-piece bath — slightly more tongue weight, a bit less living space.

↑ Step up
Flying Cloud 23FB

The smallest dual-axle Airstream: more tank, cargo, and capability, but a real jump in weight, length, and price.
