01 What makes it unique
The 3100RL is the floorplan Keystone built the redesigned 2026 Montana around. It is a widebody — five inches wider inside than a standard fifth wheel — and a rear-living layout aimed squarely at couples who live in the main room rather than the bedroom. A wall of windows wraps the rear lounge around a 55-inch 4K TV with a JBL 2.1 soundbar and subwoofer and a fireplace, a solid-surface waterfall island anchors the galley, and a hidden swing-out pantry and a slide-out "Deskette" desk-and-chairs add residential function.
It is also the most heavily equipped Montana on cooling and chassis. Where the rest of the luxury line ships with a single 15,000-BTU air conditioner, the 3100RL carries three — an 18,000-BTU Furrion Chill Cube heat-pump main plus two 13,500-BTU units — and rides on Curt TCS 8,000-pound axles with Curt anti-lock brakes and a Helux pin box rather than the Dexter/MORryde running gear of the other plans. A 50-amp power-cord reel and electric dump valves are standard, and the structural warranty steps up to five years on the new build.
RVUSA lists a 3,970-pound payload and a 3,000-pound dry pin; at a dealer-typical street price well below the placard, it sits at the accessible end of the luxury line on price while leading it on width and equipment. Because the 3100RL is a brand-new widebody on its own chassis, the dry weight and GVWR shown here are derived and flagged — weigh the loaded coach and confirm the build sticker before matching it to a truck.

Montana is the best-selling luxury fifth wheel in North America and Keystone's flagship towable. The full line runs to fifteen floorplans for 2026, plus the lighter, lower-profile Montana High Country sub-line catalogued separately on the hub. Body specifications (lengths, heights, payload, tanks, refrigerator, sleeping, slides and A/C) are RVUSA-verified against the 2026 structured spec records, each page fp-slug and title checked; pin (hitch) weights are from the same records. Montana publishes a 18,000-pound GVWR across the luxury line; the lighter three-slide 3123RL entry carries a derived 16,580-pound GVWR, and the new widebody 3100RL has its dry weight and GVWR flagged as derived. Real loaded pin weights run higher — always weigh the loaded coach and confirm against your truck's payload and rear-axle ratings.
04 What owners & reviewers report
Widebody rear living
Five extra inches of interior width in a rear-lounge layout — the room-first plan for couples, wrapped in windows.
Triple A/C standard
Three roof units (18K heat-pump + two 13.5K) where the rest of the line runs one — the coolest-running Montana.
Heavier-duty chassis
Curt 8K axles and anti-lock brakes with a Helux pin box — a different, beefier running gear than the other plans.
Dry weight / GVWR derived
As a new widebody on its own chassis, base dry weight and GVWR are not yet separately published — figures here are derived and flagged; weigh the loaded coach.
05 How it compares
The standard-width rear-living entry plan — lighter, single A/C, lower price if the widebody and triple cooling aren’t needed.
Grand Design’s mid fifth wheel — a lighter, often half-ton-friendlier alternative to the full-size Montana.
Jayco’s premium rear-living fifth wheel — a direct flagship cross-shop against the Montana luxury line.
