01 What makes it unique
The 1802MBS earns its profile on structure alone: it is the one plan in the single-axle Prowler set the factory builds with a slide, opening the floor around a Murphy bed that folds away over the sofa by day. The factory prints a berth count of up to six, a 13-foot awning covers the camp side, and the 30/30/39-gallon tank set includes a 39-gallon black tank — unusually large for a 23-footer.
The chassis tells the single-axle story with a twist: the factory page publishes a single axle on ST225/75R15 Load Range E tires — heavier rubber than the tandem plans’ 14-inch D-rated set — while the RVUSA record lists two axles, a logged conflict resolved to the factory. The build is otherwise the shared package: integrated A-frame, TrussXL 4,500-pound roof truss under the lifetime-warranty PVC membrane, MORryde steps, tankless water heater, 8-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and the 8,000-BTU wall-mount air conditioner of the light set. The printed 4,995-pound GVWR equals the 4,045-pound dry weight plus 950-pound cargo capacity exactly.
The margin is the number to watch: 950 pounds, with six berths and three tanks to fill against it. On a 610-pound tongue the tow stays mid-size-truck friendly. Couples who want the Murphy formula with tandem-axle margins should read the 2201MDS one step up.

The Prowler roster splits into two build classes: single-axle compacts (the 1300–1800-series plus the 1802MBS — an 8,000-BTU wall air conditioner, one 20-lb LP bottle) and tandem-axle full-size plans (13,500-BTU roof air, two bottles, with 15,000-BTU and second-A/C-plus-50-amp options). The light plans wear Heartland's Lynx Edition badge — a trim identity, not a separate line. This is a published-GVWR-clean line on the factory pages for every profiled plan except the 2601RLS, whose published set does not sum and is flagged on its page. RVUSA's MSRPs run roughly $375–$525 below the current factory Base MSRP (stale records, logged; the 3301RLT gap is $9,525) and West-edition twins are excluded. Always confirm against the unit's weight sticker before towing.
04 What owners & reviewers report
The axle-count conflict
The factory page publishes a single axle on 15-inch Load Range E tires; the RVUSA record lists two. The factory figure is used and the conflict is logged — verify the physical unit.
A 39-gallon black tank at 23 feet
The biggest black tank in the single-axle set — a genuine boondocking courtesy at this size.
The only single-axle slide
Every other slide in the Prowler roster rides a tandem chassis — this is the light set’s one open-floor plan.
Six berths, 950 pounds
The cargo margin is the constraint; weigh the loaded unit before towing.
05 How it compares
The tandem Murphy plan — a bigger slide, the 30,000-BTU furnace, 52-gallon fresh tank and a 1,560-pound margin.
The price-floor bunkhouse — about 1,000 pounds lighter with bunks instead of the Murphy and no slide.
The value Murphy field — the 1802MBS counter is the slide, the black-tank size and the tankless water heater.
