01 What makes it unique
The 2601RLS gives the value tier the rear-living formula: a lounge across the back wall, a single street-side slide, a front bedroom and — unusually at this price — two entry doors, under an 18-foot awning. On the 10 July 2026 RVUSA probe it was the second-most-listed Prowler floorplan in the country, behind only its bunkhouse sibling the 2602BHS.
The build is the standard tandem package — 13,500-BTU roof air, 30,000-BTU furnace, two LP bottles, 52/39/39 tanks, tankless water heater, 8-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator, TrussXL roof under the lifetime PVC membrane, tandem 3,500-pound axles — but the weight sheet demands attention. The factory page prints a 6,715-pound dry weight, a 1,725-pound cargo capacity and a 7,900-pound GVWR; the first two sum to 8,440, not 7,900, and every source — factory, RVUSA, brochure — republishes the same three figures. Nothing here resolves that: the figures are shown as published, the inconsistency is flagged, and the printed GVWR and axle ratings are what govern loading.
Read the dry weight with caution — at 6,715 pounds it would also be 900 pounds heavier than the larger 2602BHS, which the rest of the roster’s arithmetic makes doubtful — and weigh the actual unit before towing. The layout itself is the draw: the only rear-living plan in the compact-to-mid roster, with the second door the format usually skips.

The Prowler roster splits into two build classes: single-axle compacts (the 1300–1800-series plus the 1802MBS — an 8,000-BTU wall air conditioner, one 20-lb LP bottle) and tandem-axle full-size plans (13,500-BTU roof air, two bottles, with 15,000-BTU and second-A/C-plus-50-amp options). The light plans wear Heartland's Lynx Edition badge — a trim identity, not a separate line. This is a published-GVWR-clean line on the factory pages for every profiled plan except the 2601RLS, whose published set does not sum and is flagged on its page. RVUSA's MSRPs run roughly $375–$525 below the current factory Base MSRP (stale records, logged; the 3301RLT gap is $9,525) and West-edition twins are excluded. Always confirm against the unit's weight sticker before towing.
04 What owners & reviewers report
The published set does not add up
Dry 6,715 + CCC 1,725 = 8,440, not the printed 7,900-pound GVWR — and factory, RVUSA and brochure all carry the identical figures. The set is shown as published and flagged; the GVWR sticker and axle ratings govern. Weigh the unit.
The dry weight is the suspect figure
A 31-foot single-slide plan printing 900 pounds heavier than the 30-foot-6 2602BHS is out of family; treat 6,715 as unconfirmed until the unit is scaled.
Second-most-listed plan
On the 10 Jul 2026 RVUSA probe, only the 2602BHS showed more live Prowler listings — the market likes this layout.
Two doors at the value tier
Dual entries on a rear-living plan — lounge traffic and bedroom traffic stay separate.
05 How it compares
The same length class spent on family — bunks, an outdoor kitchen, ten berths and a weight set that ties out exactly.
The compact couples slide plan — six fewer feet, a clean weight sheet and a $3,000-lower Base MSRP.
The value rear-lounge field — compare weight stickers on physical units; this plan’s published set is flagged.
