01 What makes it unique

The Reflection 150 Series 270BN is among the lightest fifth wheels Grand Design builds and one squarely aimed at short-bed half-ton trucks. A single slide and a sub-30-foot length keep weight down while a rear flex/bunk area adds versatility, and the 150 Series engineering is built for towability: a 90-degree turning pin box for tight short-bed maneuvering, CURT Touring Coil suspension and anti-lock brakes with sway control. The Reflection residential build is present at a lighter weight: gel-coat fiberglass sidewalls, laminated aluminum framing and a one-piece TPO roof.

It rides on a tandem axle with E-rated tires, with a 9,995-pound GVWR on an 8,050-pound dry weight — leaving 1,945 pounds of payload — and a 1,200-pound dry pin weight that a properly equipped half-ton can carry. The 150 Series adds a standard 180-watt solar package with a 12-volt refrigerator, so the coach is camp-ready off hookups, with a 55-gallon fresh tank for the size.

It sleeps two with flex space for more, at an MSRP near $80,500. For buyers who want a real Reflection fifth wheel — not a stripped value coach — sized and engineered for a short-bed half-ton, the single-slide 270BN is the lightest and most maneuverable entry in the line.

03 The Reflection floorplan family

Grand Design's Reflection is the brand's premium-mainstream towable family, and it spans four sub-lines across both tow types. The full-size Reflection fifth wheel is the heart of the range — a residential half-ton-to-three-quarter-ton coach with a 16 cubic-foot refrigerator and laminated aluminum construction. The Reflection travel trailer (the "...TS" plans) brings that same finish to a genuine bumper-pull, for buyers who want Reflection quality without an in-bed hitch. The Reflection 150 Series is the lightest fifth wheel — CURT Touring Coil suspension, standard solar and a 90-degree turning pin box for short-bed half-tons — and the Reflection 100 Series is the accessible short-bed fifth-wheel entry. The 270BN on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page. The full Reflection catalogue runs to dozens of floorplans across all four; the highest-demand layouts are detailed here and the rest are catalogued on the line hub.

The Reflection 150 Series is the lightest fifth wheel in the line — floorplans from under 8,000 pounds dry, a 90-degree turning pin box, CURT Touring Coil suspension, ABS and standard 180-watt solar — built for today's half-ton and short-bed trucks. Pin weights are factory dry figures and climb with cargo; confirm your truck's payload and rear-axle rating. Additional 150 Series floorplans are catalogued on the line hub.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Built for short-bed half-tons

A 90-degree turning pin box, CURT coil suspension and a 1,200-lb dry pin make it one of the most half-ton-friendly Reflections.

Standard solar + ABS

A 180-watt solar package and anti-lock brakes with sway control come standard on the 150 Series.

Lightest Reflection 5W

An 8,050-lb dry weight is the entry point to the fifth-wheel line — real finish without full-size mass.

Confirm the loaded pin

Even a 1,200-lb dry pin grows with cargo — weigh loaded and check your half-ton’s payload and rear axle.
