01 What makes it unique
The Jay Feather 21MML extends the Murphy-bed idea to a small family or a couple who occasionally bring a third. The front Murphy bed folds up for a daytime lounge, while a single bunk adds a berth without committing to a full bunkhouse — a flexible 25-foot layout that adapts to how many are aboard. At 5,085 pounds dry it stays genuinely towable.
It is the same Jay Feather platform — Norco® Z-frame, Stronghold VBL™ laminated floor, Magnum Truss™ roof, 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator — with a 6,500-pound GVWR that leaves 1,415 pounds of payload. The 55-gallon fresh tank and step-up finish carry over from the rest of the line, so the compact size doesn’t mean a stripped-down trailer.
It sleeps three, slotting between the couples-only 19MRK and the family bunk plans. For buyers who want a little more flexibility than a pure couples’ coach but don’t need to sleep a whole family, the 21MML is the adaptable middle of the compact end, near $42,000.

03 Jay Feather floorplan family
Jay Feather is Jayco's lightweight step-up travel trailer — a notch above the value Jay Flight SLX, built on an American-made Norco® Z-frame with vacuum-bonded laminated walls, an 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and residential touches. The 2026 line runs nineteen floorplans from compact Murphy-bed couples' trailers up to 36-foot family bunkhouses. The 21MML on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page, and the rest of the line is catalogued on the hub.

Most Jay Feather floorplans carry a single slide and an optional king bed in place of the standard 60×80 queen; several add an outdoor camp kitchen. Jay Feather replaced the discontinued White Hawk in Jayco's range for 2025, absorbing its more-featured positioning. Additional floorplans (front-kitchen, rear-living, and bunk layouts) are documented on the line hub. Always confirm equipment and weights against the unit's own weight sticker.
04 What owners & reviewers report
Murphy bed plus a bunk
Folds the front away by day and still offers a third berth — flexibility a pure couples’ plan can’t match.
Stays light and short
At 5,085 lb dry and 25 feet it tows and parks easily — no jump to a heavy family trailer.
Step-up equipment
11 cu ft 12V fridge, laminated walls and Norco® frame keep it above the value tier despite the compact size.
Modest payload for three
1,415 lb of payload is the tightest of the compact plans — watch the load if travelling three-up with gear.
05 How it compares
Shorter, with a rear kitchen and couples-only sleeping — the choice if the third berth isn’t needed.
A dual-purpose rear-kitchen couples’ coach — more galley and living space when flexibility matters less than comfort.
The value compact bunkhouse — cheaper and lighter, with less finish than the Feather.
