01 What makes it unique

The Jay Feather 26FK puts a slide-out kitchen across the front and the bedroom across the back — the reverse of most trailers. A full cook’s galley with a stainless sink under a large window opens up on a front slide, a private queen bedroom (with an optional 72×80 king) sits at the rear, and a second slide widens the living area between them. The front-kitchen arrangement keeps cooking smells and clutter away from the bed and makes the galley the bright, window-lit social centre of a 34-foot trailer.

Underneath is the full Jay Feather build — an American-made Norco® Z-frame with integrated A-frame, a vacuum-bonded Stronghold VBL™ laminated floor, the Magnum Truss™ roof, an aluminum-framed rounded front with a molded cap, and Azdel® composite sidewalls. An 8,700-pound GVWR on a 7,090-pound dry weight leaves 1,610 pounds of payload, and the equipment is full Jay Feather: an 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator, a 55-gallon fresh tank and a 61-gallon gray, plus the residential finish the value lines don’t carry.

It sleeps four around a private rear bedroom and a front kitchen, near an MSRP of $52,000 before the usual dealer discounting. For a couple or small family who cook and want a defined bedroom separated from the galley by the trailer’s whole length, the 26FK is the brightest front-kitchen layout Jayco builds in this size.

03 Jay Feather floorplan family

Jay Feather is Jayco's lightweight step-up travel trailer — a notch above the value Jay Flight SLX, built on an American-made Norco® Z-frame with vacuum-bonded laminated walls, an 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and residential touches. The 2026 line runs nineteen floorplans from compact Murphy-bed couples' trailers up to 36-foot family bunkhouses. The 26FK on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page, and the rest of the line is catalogued on the hub.

Most Jay Feather floorplans carry a single slide and an optional king bed in place of the standard 60×80 queen; several add an outdoor camp kitchen. Jay Feather replaced the discontinued White Hawk in Jayco's range for 2025, absorbing its more-featured positioning. Additional floorplans (front-kitchen, rear-living, and bunk layouts) are documented on the line hub. Always confirm equipment and weights against the unit's own weight sticker.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Front kitchen on a slide

A slide-out front galley with a window over the sink keeps cooking out of the sleeping end and makes the kitchen the bright social hub — the 26FK’s defining trait.

Private rear queen bedroom

A walk-around queen (optional king) across the back, the length of the trailer away from the kitchen — real separation between cooking and sleeping.

Twin slides, molded cap

Two slide-outs open the kitchen and living area and a mandatory molded front cap sharpens the aerodynamic profile — a finished, roomy 34-footer.

Heaviest tongue in the line

At 955 lb the dry tongue weight is the highest of the profiled Feathers — confirm your hitch and tow vehicle’s tongue rating before buying.
