01 What makes it unique

The Catalina Legacy Edition 273DBHCK is a dual-entry family bunkhouse with a more finished feel than the metal-tier Summit plans. A front RV-queen master sits up front; rear double-over-double bunks fill the back; a large slide carries a trundle sofa and a U-shaped dinette; a living-room fireplace and a panoramic 10-foot slide window warm and brighten the main area; and dual entry doors let you come in through the rear full bath or the front living room. A standard outside camp kitchen with a cast-iron griddle and a mini refrigerator rounds it out, with nominal capacity of eight.

At 7,348 pounds unloaded and 33 feet 6 inches, the 273DBHCK is a comfortable half-ton tow with about 2,000 pounds of cargo capacity — a healthy payload for a fully-featured bunkhouse, and its 74-gallon grey tank is the largest of any plan on this page, useful for longer dry-camping stints. As a Legacy Edition it carries the upgrades that separate the tier from Summit: solid-surface kitchen counters, upgraded aluminum wheels and a porcelain toilet, on top of the line’s GE 10.7-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, GE 13,500-BTU heat-pump air conditioner, 35,000-BTU furnace and residential in-floor ducted heat. A 21-foot power awning with multicolor LED lighting is among the longest in the lineup.

Construction is the line’s metal-sided value build — a Norco powder-coated steel I-beam frame with full-length outriggers, a Platinum .024-inch aluminum exterior with a smooth radius front, a seamless Alpha roof membrane and an enclosed, fully sealed corrugated underbelly — with JBL Aura audio and a 600-watt solar prep. For a family that wants the proven dual-entry double-bunk layout with Legacy’s nicer finishes, a fireplace and a big outside kitchen at a half-ton weight, the 273DBHCK is a strong value bunkhouse.
