01 What makes it unique

The Catalina Legacy Edition 303RKDS is the line’s premium rear-kitchen couples’ coach. The rear kitchen steals the show with expansive counter space and abundant overhead storage, and its position opens up a spacious living room with two recliners directly across from a slide-out sofa. The private front bedroom has its own entertainment center and fireplace, an enormous closet with a full-length hang rod, and a separate utility closet plumbed and wired for a washer/dryer. Two slides and a single entry keep the layout open and residential. Nominal sleeping is four — a couples-and-guests plan with full-time amenities.

At 8,234 pounds unloaded and 36 feet 5 inches, the 303RKDS wants a three-quarter-ton or a stout half-ton, with a 1,500-pound cargo capacity. It is one of the better-equipped Legacy plans out of the box: standard 50-amp service, standard washer/dryer prep, and a long 21-foot power awning, on top of the line’s GE 10.7-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, 60,000-BTU tankless water heater and 13,500-BTU ducted heat-pump air conditioner. A 35,000-BTU furnace with residential in-floor ducted heat handles cold weather, a 74-gallon grey tank suits extended stays, and a second air conditioner (up to the triple-18K Furrion setup) is available. Solid-surface counters, aluminum wheels and a porcelain toilet are standard Legacy fare.

Construction is the same metal-sided value build as the rest of the line — a Norco powder-coated steel I-beam frame, a Platinum .024-inch aluminum exterior with a smooth radius front, a seamless Alpha roof membrane and a 5/8-inch StableDeck floor — with JBL Aura audio and a 600-watt solar prep. For a couple who wants a full rear galley, a living room with real recliners and a bedroom set up for full-time use with laundry, the 303RKDS is the residential rear-kitchen pick of the line.

Every Catalina is built on a Norco electromagnetic powder-coated cambered steel I-beam frame with full-length outriggers, a 5/8-inch tongue-and-groove StableDeck floor, a Platinum .024-inch aluminum (metal-sided) exterior with a smooth aluminum radius front, and a seamless Alpha roof membrane with a lifetime warranty. Standard equipment is full 12-volt residential: a GE 10.7-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, a GE 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, a GE 13,500-BTU ducted air conditioner with a heat pump, JBL Aura audio and a 600-watt solar prep. The Legacy Edition adds solid-surface kitchen counters, upgraded aluminum wheels, washer/dryer prep, a larger awning, a full outside camp kitchen and available BAL auto-leveling. Lengths, weights and equipment change with options, sub-line and model year — always confirm against the unit's own weight sticker. Additional Summit, Legacy, Trail Blazer and Destination floorplans are catalogued on the line hub.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Premium rear-kitchen couples coach

A full rear galley, a living room with two recliners across from a slide sofa, and a private bedroom with its own fireplace — a residential couples layout.

Best-equipped out of the box

Standard 50-amp service and standard washer/dryer prep, plus a 74-gallon grey tank and a 21-foot awning — more standard content than the smaller Legacy plans.

Wants a 3/4-ton or stout half-ton

At 8,234 lbs unloaded and a 1,054-lb hitch this is a heavier tow; match it carefully to your truck’s door-jamb rating.

Tight payload for its size

A 1,500-lb cargo capacity on a 36-foot coach is modest — watch loaded weight, especially with a second air conditioner and a full grey tank.

Selling price runs below the placard

Dealer MSRP placards run in the high-$40,000s while 2026 selling prices commonly land in the mid-$30,000s; the figure shown is dealer-typical selling and is flagged.
