01 What makes it unique
The Catalina Legacy Edition 343BHTS is the flagship of the lineup — the largest, heaviest and most-equipped plan profiled here. A separate rear bunk room sleeps five-plus with two bunks, a COA cube futon, an entertainment center and a solid privacy door; a front master suite up front pairs an enormous closet with a second utility closet prepped for a stackable washer/dryer; and the combined living and kitchen area opens through a triple-slide layout with a booth dinette, an SLS sofa and an L-shaped kitchen. A standard full-size outside camp kitchen with a griddle, a dorm refrigerator and a sink completes it, with nominal capacity of ten.
At 8,936 pounds unloaded and 38 feet 1 inch, the 343BHTS is a three-quarter-ton tow, not a half-ton trailer — the triple slides and bunk room push it past 10,000 pounds loaded. As a top Legacy plan it carries the tier’s richest standard equipment: solid-surface kitchen counters, upgraded aluminum wheels, a 21-foot awning (the longest in the line), 50-amp service and washer/dryer prep, on top of the line’s GE 10.7-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, 60,000-BTU tankless water heater and 13,500-BTU heat-pump air conditioner. A BAL 5.3 auto-leveling system is a popular option, and the plan offers two alternate configurations — a two-queen-suite version and a den-room version — in place of the bunk room and camp kitchen.
Construction is the line’s metal-sided value build scaled up — a Norco powder-coated steel I-beam frame with full-length outriggers, a Platinum .024-inch aluminum exterior with a smooth radius front, a seamless Alpha roof membrane and an enclosed, fully sealed corrugated underbelly — with JBL Aura audio and a 600-watt solar prep. For a large family that wants a private bunk room, a real master suite and laundry prep in a value-priced package, the 343BHTS is the top of the Catalina range.

Every Catalina is built on a Norco electromagnetic powder-coated cambered steel I-beam frame with full-length outriggers, a 5/8-inch tongue-and-groove StableDeck floor, a Platinum .024-inch aluminum (metal-sided) exterior with a smooth aluminum radius front, and a seamless Alpha roof membrane with a lifetime warranty. Standard equipment is full 12-volt residential: a GE 10.7-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, a GE 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, a GE 13,500-BTU ducted air conditioner with a heat pump, JBL Aura audio and a 600-watt solar prep. The Legacy Edition adds solid-surface kitchen counters, upgraded aluminum wheels, washer/dryer prep, a larger awning, a full outside camp kitchen and available BAL auto-leveling. Lengths, weights and equipment change with options, sub-line and model year — always confirm against the unit's own weight sticker. Additional Summit, Legacy, Trail Blazer and Destination floorplans are catalogued on the line hub.
04 What owners & reviewers report
The Legacy flagship
Triple slides, a separate rear bunk room, a front master suite and washer/dryer prep — the largest, most-equipped Catalina profiled.
Three layout configurations
The 343BHTS is offered as the standard bunk room, a two-queen-suite version, or a den-room version — each replacing the bunk room and camp kitchen.
Standard full-size outside camp kitchen
Includes a griddle, a dorm-style refrigerator, a sink and storage — standard on the flagship, not an option.
A three-quarter-ton tow
At 8,936 lb UVW, over 10,000 lb loaded and 1,200 lb of hitch weight, the 343BHTS needs a three-quarter-ton truck — confirm payload and hitch rating, not just tow rating.
Selling price runs well below the placard
Dealer MSRP placards run into the mid-$50,000s while 2026 selling prices commonly land near $38,000; the figure shown is dealer-typical selling and is flagged.
05 How it compares
The Legacy mid bunkhouse — a single slide, dual entry and double-over-double bunks, nearly 2,400 lb lighter and a half-ton tow.
A comparable large-family triple-slide bunkhouse one construction tier up — cross-shop build, weight and price.
A laminated-aluminum large-format plan — different layout, but a useful build-and-price comparison at this size.
