01 What makes it unique
The Salem Hemisphere 28RKHL is the Hyper-Lyte rear-kitchen couples coach — a full galley laid out across the back wall with a booth dinette, a front private bedroom and a bath in between, in a 33-foot-11 body opened by a single slide. Putting the kitchen at the rear gives it generous counter and cabinet space and big back windows over the sink. Its twin in the Wildwood Heritage Glen 28RKHL is the identical trailer in different décor.
It carries the premium-laminate build that defines the line: a vacuum-laminated “Aluma Frame” sidewall and floor with block-foam insulation, a WeatherShield one-piece fiberglass roof, 82-inch sidewalls, Nordic Marble counters, a 10-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator and an 18,000-BTU Furrion Chill Cube. The included Elevated Value and Expedition packages add a 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, a 60-by-80 bed, an enclosed underbelly and wide-stance 42-inch axles; a 200-watt roof-solar package is optional.
With a 9,640-pound derived GVWR the 28RKHL leaves about 2,672 pounds of cargo capacity, healthy for a couple, and at 6,968 pounds dry with an 840-pound tongue it still tows behind a capable half-ton. For two travelers who cook and want a rear galley with real counter space and a separate front bedroom in the Hemisphere’s laminate build — with the identical Wildwood Heritage Glen to cross-shop — the 28RKHL is the rear-kitchen Hyper-Lyte choice.

03 Salem Hemisphere & Wildwood Heritage Glen floorplan family
Forest River's Salem Hemisphere and its twin the Wildwood Heritage Glen are the same premium-laminate travel trailers built on the same factory line, differing mainly in graphics and décor and sharing an identical floorplan roster. Hemisphere sits at the top of the Salem / Wildwood travel-trailer ladder — a vacuum-laminated "Aluma Frame" coach with a one-piece fiberglass roof, Nordic Marble counters, an 18,000-BTU Furrion Chill Cube and an automotive windshield — in two tiers: a lighter Hyper-Lyte series of half-ton plans and a heavier full-Hemisphere series of triple-slide family and couples' coaches. The 28RKHL on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page. The line runs to roughly two dozen travel-trailer floorplans plus a fifth-wheel range; the highest-demand layouts are detailed here and the rest are catalogued on the line hub.

Every Salem Hemisphere and Wildwood Heritage Glen trailer is built on a vacuum-laminated "Aluma Frame" sidewall and floor with block-foam insulation, a WeatherShield one-piece fiberglass roof, 82-inch sidewalls and wide-stance 42-inch axles, and ships with an Elevated Value Package (one-piece fiberglass roof, 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, JBL audio, flush-floor slides) and an Expedition Package (60-by-80 or 72-by-80 beds, 18,000-BTU Furrion main A/C, enclosed underbelly with 12V tank heaters, washer/dryer prep). The full-Hemisphere plans add a standard second 13,500-BTU air conditioner (not the 261FKRB or 265BSRB), an electric fireplace on most models, a 50-inch smart TV and an outside kitchen on the larger bunk and rear-living plans. A roof-mounted 200-watt solar package is optional on every plan. Lengths, weights and equipment change with options, region and model year — always confirm against the unit's own weight sticker. Additional Hemisphere travel-trailer floorplans (and the Hemisphere fifth-wheel range) are catalogued on the line hub.
04 What owners & reviewers report
Rear galley, front bedroom
The kitchen runs across the back wall with a booth dinette and big rear windows; the private bedroom is up front and the bath sits between — a layout that trades a rear lounge for serious counter and cabinet space.
Awning size not published
The factory floorplan record does not state the 28RKHL’s awning length; the power awning is standard but its size is shown unverified and excluded from the completeness figure.
Sleeps figure varies
Forest River omits a sleeping count; dealers list the 28RKHL at two to four (the queen plus the convertible dinette). Shown as “up to 4”.
GVWR is derived, not published
Forest River publishes UVW (6,968) and CCC (2,672) but not GVWR; the 9,640-lb figure is UVW + CCC, Forest River’s own definition. Flagged.
Selling price, not MSRP
Dealer MSRP placards on Hemisphere run far above street prices; the figure shown is a representative dealer-typical selling price and is flagged.
05 How it compares
The lightest, shortest Hyper-Lyte couples plan — a center kitchen and rear bath in a 25-foot body at a lower price, easier to tow and store.
The Hyper-Lyte bunkhouse on a similar-length body — rear twin bunks and a U-dinette with dual entries for families instead of a rear galley.
