01 What makes it unique
The Salem Hemisphere 301FAM is the full-Hemisphere family bunkhouse — a front private bedroom, a rear bunk area for the kids, a kitchen island and an outside kitchen, all opened up by three slide-outs in a 38-foot-10 body. At 9,893 pounds dry it is the heaviest travel trailer in the Hemisphere line, a genuine family hauler. Its twin in the Wildwood Heritage Glen 301FAM is the identical trailer in different décor.
It carries the full-Hemisphere build: a vacuum-laminated “Aluma Frame” sidewall and floor with block-foam insulation, a WeatherShield one-piece fiberglass roof, 82-inch sidewalls, Nordic Marble counters, a 10-cubic-foot 12V refrigerator, an 18,000-BTU Furrion Chill Cube with a standard second 13,500-BTU air conditioner, a fireplace, JBL audio and a 50-inch TV. An outside kitchen extends the galley to the campsite; a 200-watt roof-solar package is optional. The 301FAM is the one bed-slide plan that keeps a 60-by-80 bed rather than the wider 72-by-80.
With an 11,665-pound derived GVWR the 301FAM leaves about 1,772 pounds of cargo capacity over a hefty 1,465-pound tongue, and a large 90-gallon gray tank suits a full household; fresh is 45 and black is 30. At nearly 9,900 pounds dry it wants a three-quarter-ton truck and weight distribution. For a family that wants a private front bedroom, a real bunk area, an island kitchen and an outside kitchen in the Hemisphere’s laminate build — with the identical Wildwood Heritage Glen to cross-shop — the 301FAM is the line’s top family floorplan.

03 Salem Hemisphere & Wildwood Heritage Glen floorplan family
Forest River's Salem Hemisphere and its twin the Wildwood Heritage Glen are the same premium-laminate travel trailers built on the same factory line, differing mainly in graphics and décor and sharing an identical floorplan roster. Hemisphere sits at the top of the Salem / Wildwood travel-trailer ladder — a vacuum-laminated "Aluma Frame" coach with a one-piece fiberglass roof, Nordic Marble counters, an 18,000-BTU Furrion Chill Cube and an automotive windshield — in two tiers: a lighter Hyper-Lyte series of half-ton plans and a heavier full-Hemisphere series of triple-slide family and couples' coaches. The 301FAM on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page. The line runs to roughly two dozen travel-trailer floorplans plus a fifth-wheel range; the highest-demand layouts are detailed here and the rest are catalogued on the line hub.

Every Salem Hemisphere and Wildwood Heritage Glen trailer is built on a vacuum-laminated "Aluma Frame" sidewall and floor with block-foam insulation, a WeatherShield one-piece fiberglass roof, 82-inch sidewalls and wide-stance 42-inch axles, and ships with an Elevated Value Package (one-piece fiberglass roof, 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, JBL audio, flush-floor slides) and an Expedition Package (60-by-80 or 72-by-80 beds, 18,000-BTU Furrion main A/C, enclosed underbelly with 12V tank heaters, washer/dryer prep). The full-Hemisphere plans add a standard second 13,500-BTU air conditioner (not the 261FKRB or 265BSRB), an electric fireplace on most models, a 50-inch smart TV and an outside kitchen on the larger bunk and rear-living plans. A roof-mounted 200-watt solar package is optional on every plan. Lengths, weights and equipment change with options, region and model year — always confirm against the unit's own weight sticker. Additional Hemisphere travel-trailer floorplans (and the Hemisphere fifth-wheel range) are catalogued on the line hub.
04 What owners & reviewers report
The family bunkhouse flagship
A front private bedroom, a rear bunk area, a kitchen island and an outside kitchen across three slides — the most family-oriented Hemisphere and, at 9,893 lb dry, the heaviest travel trailer in the line.
Keeps the 60-by-80 bed
Where the other bed-slide plans get a wider 72-by-80 mattress, the 301FAM keeps a 60-by-80 bed — a small layout note for couples comparing bedroom space across the big plans.
GVWR is derived, not published
Forest River publishes UVW (9,893) and CCC (1,772) but not GVWR; the 11,665-lb figure is UVW + CCC, Forest River’s own definition. Flagged.
Awning size not published
The factory floorplan record does not state the 301FAM’s awning length; the power awning is standard but its size is shown unverified and excluded from the completeness figure.
Needs a three-quarter-ton
At 9,893 lb dry with a 1,465-lb tongue and an 11,665-lb GVWR, the 301FAM is best paired with a three-quarter-ton truck and weight distribution — confirm against your door-jamb placard.
Selling price, not MSRP
Dealer MSRP placards on this plan run into the $70,000s while selling prices cluster around $51,000; the figure shown is dealer-typical and flagged.
05 How it compares
The bath-and-a-half family bunkhouse — two bathrooms and dual entry on a similar body, lighter dry and more payload, with a single full kitchen layout.
The other triple-slide family bunkhouse — a rear bunk room with washer/dryer prep and a massive outside kitchen, lighter on the tongue.
