01 What makes it unique
The Colt 32DSB leaves Highland Ridge's factory at 7,720 lbs dry, with a published GVWR of 9,600 lbs and 1,880 lbs of cargo capacity between the two. Cargo capacity is 20% of the loaded rating, and Highland Ridge's own definition is worth reading before you plan against it: cargo capacity is what remains for fresh water, gear, food, batteries and every dealer-installed accessory. Fresh water alone is 8.3 lb per gallon, so filling this trailer's 52-gallon fresh tank spends 432 lbs of that 1,880 lbs before anything else is loaded.
Dry tongue weight is 995 lbs, or 13% of the dry weight. Ten to fifteen percent is the conventional band for a bumper-pull trailer, and this plan sits inside it as published. Tongue weight is not fixed: it moves with how the trailer is loaded, and weight added ahead of the axles raises it. A weight-distribution hitch is the normal fitment at this tongue load, and the tow vehicle's tongue-weight limit is a separate number from its trailer-weight limit.
Tank capacities are 52 gallons fresh, 32.5 grey and 39 black, 71.5 gallons of waste capacity against 52 gallons of supply. The ratio is what governs how long the trailer can sit off hookups: waste capacity exceeds fresh, so the fresh tank is the binding constraint and refilling extends the stay. Highland Ridge publishes these three figures per floorplan, and they are the factory's numbers rather than a segment average.
Against the rest of the Colt roster this is the 19th of 21 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 2,550 lbs to 9,080 lbs. It sits in the heavier third of the line. Comparing floorplans inside one line is more reliable than comparing across brands, because every figure here comes from the same factory channel on the same day.
A useful way to read the pair of weights is to stop planning against the dry figure. Nobody tows a trailer at 7,720 lbs: that is the weight before water, batteries, propane, bedding, food, tools and anything the dealer bolted on. Load half the published cargo capacity, which is modest for a family trip, and this plan is already near 8,660 lbs on the road. Compare that number against the tow vehicle, not the dry weight, and leave margin on top of it - the published GVWR of 9,600 lbs is a limit rather than a target.
Every number above was read from Highland Ridge's own factory page for this floorplan. It was read once, from that page only, so there is no second factory listing to check it against. Dry weight plus cargo capacity also equals the published GVWR exactly, which is the arithmetic check this site runs on every profiled floorplan. Where a figure is missing from this page it is because Highland Ridge does not publish it in this channel, not because it was hard to find - and the row says so rather than being quietly dropped.
Highland Ridge publishes no floorplan description for this plan in the channel this page is built from - only the numeric specification block. Rather than describe a layout from the floorplan code, which would be a guess dressed as a fact, this page carries what the factory publishes and says where it stops. 32DSB is a Colt designation and this site does not decode it into a layout claim.
How the 32DSB differs from the other twenty Colt floorplans. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out. Not every one of these pages covers the same model years as this one (2027); each figure is the one its own page prints, so a rank compares pages, not one model year.

- Grey tank, 32.5 gal: shared with the 28RLD; of 21, three smaller and sixteen larger, nearest the 13RD, 17BH and 17QB (19.9 gal) and the 17DB, 17DBS and eleven others (39 gal).
- Exterior height, 10 ft 6 in: shared with the 21RBS, 22MDS and 27BPS; of 21, thirteen lower and four taller, nearest the 28DBS (10 ft 5 in) and the 26RCS, 33RLT and 33TSB (10 ft 7 in).
Next to the 28RLD, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 32DSB is 210 lb heavier by dry weight, has a GVWR 200 lb higher, has 10 lb less cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 260 lb heavier, is 1 ft 7 in longer, stands 2 in lower and sleeps six more; the two publish the same fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (9,600 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (1,440 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433). The range starts at the published figure, because loaded is never lighter than that.
03 The Colt floorplan family
Nineteen Colt floorplans with a full factory record for 2027. They run 2,550 lb to 9,080 lb dry across 16' 1" to 39' 11" of exterior length, with cargo capacity of 920 lb to 2,320 lb and tongue weights of 235 lb to 1,125 lb. Every one publishes a GVWR, 3,500 lb to 11,400 lb, and dry weight plus cargo capacity equals it exactly.

Colt is published by Highland Ridge across 21 floorplans for 2027. Nineteen carry a full field set and are profiled; the others are listed on the hub with the reason against each. Sleeping capacity is shown where Highland Ridge prints it (eighteen of the nineteen profiled); axle count, tire size and MSRP are not published in this channel.
04 Notes on this floorplan
What Highland Ridge does not publish for this line
Axle count, tire size and MSRP are absent from Highland Ridge's specification channel for Colt, so they are absent here. They are not estimated from the segment, not carried over from a sibling floorplan, and not taken from a dealer listing quoting itself. A tire size in particular is a safety-relevant number that differs between two codes a digit apart, and this site does not guess one.
Weigh it before you tow it
Every figure on this page is a factory publication for a standard build. Highland Ridge's own footnote on unloaded weight calls it an estimated average based on a standard build with optional equipment, and options, dealer-installed accessories and the previous owner's additions all move it. The only weight that governs your towing decision is the one under your own trailer on a scale, loaded the way you actually travel.
05 How it compares
7,510 lbs dry against this plan's 7,720 lbs, a difference of 210 lbs. Same line, same factory channel, same model year - so the gap is a real one rather than a difference in how two brands measure.
8,975 lbs dry, 1,255 lbs more than this plan, and 1,925 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 1,880 lbs. Stepping up a floorplan usually buys length before it buys payload.
2,320 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 21 Colt floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 52-gallon fresh tank is about 432 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 23% of the 32DSB’s 1,880 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,448 lb (121 lb per rated berth). Across 21 Colt floorplans the water share runs 19% to 28%, and 15 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Colt 28RLD at 23% and Colt 26RCS at 23%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the Colt 28DBS, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 6 of the 8 fields both publish (this plan first): length 36 ft 4 in vs 33 ft 7 in; dry weight 7,720 lb vs 6,270 lb; GVWR 9,600 lb vs 8,200 lb; cargo capacity 1,880 lb vs 1,930 lb; hitch weight 995 lb vs 835 lb; grey tank 32.5 gal vs 39 gal. They match on fresh tank and black tank.
