Match a trailer to your tow numbers

Enter the maximum trailer weight and payload from your own vehicle's placard. This page matches them against the published GVWR of every floorplan in the catalogue — and never against a tow rating it looked up for you.

MATCHED ON · Published GVWRFLOORPLANS · 874SOURCE · Verified factory + dealer records

Enter the two numbers from your own vehicle's door-jamb placard and owner's manual — maximum trailer weight and available payload. This page then lists the floorplans in this catalogue whose published GVWR fits inside them. It does not look your vehicle up, and it never will: tow ratings vary by axle ratio, cab, bed, drivetrain and options, and a figure taken from a magazine table is the wrong number to plan a tow around.

874 of the 1024 floorplans in this catalogue publish a GVWR and are matched here. The other 150 do not — their manufacturer does not publish the figure in the channel this site reads, and this site does not compute one from dry weight plus cargo capacity and present it as a factory number. Those floorplans still have full pages; they are simply not matchable on a rating.

Match on GVWR, not on dry weight. Dry weight is the trailer before you put anything in it — no water, no propane, no gear, and usually no installed options. GVWR is the loaded ceiling the manufacturer will stand behind. A trailer that fits your rating dry can be over it by the end of the first shopping trip. Every match below uses the published GVWR.

Payload matters because the hitch or pin weight of the trailer sits on the tow vehicle, not on the trailer's own axles. Where a payload figure is entered, a floorplan is only shown if its published hitch or pin weight also fits inside it. 1014 of 1024 floorplans publish a hitch or pin weight; the rest are shown on the weight test alone and are marked.

Where the catalogue sits, by GVWR band

This is the same 874 floorplans grouped by published GVWR, so you can see what a rating actually buys before you enter anything. Hitch and pin weights are the range published inside each band.

7 floorplans publish figures that disagree with each other — dry weight plus cargo capacity does not equal the manufacturer's own published GVWR. They are matched here on the published GVWR, which is the manufacturer's stated ceiling, and every one of them is named with its arithmetic on the published-figure conflicts page. Nothing is averaged, corrected or quietly dropped.

What this page will not do

It will not tell you what your vehicle can tow. It will not add a safety margin for you, because the right margin depends on grade, altitude, wind, brake controller and how you load — and a margin invented by a website is a number with no source. It will not treat dry weight as a tow weight. Weigh the actual trailer, loaded, before you rely on any of it.
