01 What makes it unique
The Reflection 100 Series 29RL is a 100 Series fifth wheel on Grand Design’s 2027 roster. Grand Design’s own floorplan page lists it at 32 ft 9 in long, 12 ft 9 in tall and 8 ft wide (13 ft 2 in with the slides out), on two axles with two slide-outs and a 10 cubic-foot refrigerator. It sleeps 4–5 as Grand Design displays it, with a 60 x 80 in standard bed.
The weights are Grand Design’s: an unloaded vehicle weight of 9,045 lb, a GVWR of 10,995 lb and a pin weight of 1,410 lb. Grand Design does not publish a cargo carrying capacity for it, so this page does not print one and does not compute one. Tanks are 55 gal fresh, 78 gal grey and 39 gal black. Grand Design lists insulation at R-9 walls, R-30 floor, R-40 roof and R-9 slide-outs, an 18,000 BTU A/C and a tankless water heater.
The 1,410-lb published pin is the figure to check against a truck’s payload; the loaded pin will be higher.
How the 29RL differs from the other nineteen Reflection fifth wheels. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out. Not every one of these pages covers the same model years as this one (2027); each figure is the one its own page prints, so a rank compares pages, not one model year.
- Exterior height, 12 ft 9 in: fourth-tallest of twenty, between the 360FLS, 362TBS and 367BHS (12 ft 8 in) and the 295RL and 298BH (12 ft 10 in).
- Dry weight, 9,045 lb: eighth-lightest of twenty, between the 28RL (8,400 lb) and the 298BH (9,050 lb).
- Pin weight, 1,410 lb: eighth-lightest of twenty, between the 28RL (1,348 lb) and the 298BH (1,450 lb).
- Pin weight as a share of dry weight, 15.6%: shared with the 27BH; of twenty, three smaller and fifteen larger, nearest the 250ML (15.3%) and the 28RL and 298BH (16%).
- Length, 32 ft 9 in: eighth-shortest of twenty, between the 27BH (32 ft 3 in) and the 303RLS (32 ft 10 in).
- GVWR, 10,995 lb: shared with the 28RL, 295RL and 298BH; of twenty, six lower and ten higher, nearest the 27BH (10,195 lb) and the 303RLS and 32BH (11,995 lb).
- Slide-out count, 2: shared with the 28RL, 295RL and two others; of twenty, seven fewer and eight more, nearest the 22RK, 24RL and five others (1) and the 303RLS, 320MKS and two others (3).
Next to the 28RL (2026 page), the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 29RL is 645 lb heavier by dry weight, has a pin weight 62 lb heavier, is 1 ft 9 in longer and stands 6 in taller; the two publish the same GVWR, fresh tank, grey tank, black tank and slide-out count.
Next to the 298BH (2026 page), the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 29RL is 5 lb lighter by dry weight, has a pin weight 40 lb lighter, is 2 ft shorter, stands 1 in lower and has one more slide-out; the two publish the same GVWR, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (10,995 lb) and the upper loaded pin estimate (2,749 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 15–25% of GVWR on the pin, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).
03 The Reflection floorplan family
Grand Design's Reflection is the brand's premium-mainstream towable family, and it spans four sub-lines across both tow types. The full-size Reflection fifth wheel is the heart of the range — a residential coach with a 16 cubic-foot refrigerator and laminated aluminum construction. The Reflection travel trailer (the "...TS" plans) brings that same finish to a genuine bumper-pull, for buyers who want Reflection quality without an in-bed hitch. The Reflection 150 Series adds CURT Touring Coil suspension, standard solar and a 90-degree turning pin box — and the Reflection 100 Series is the accessible short-bed fifth-wheel entry. The 29RL on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page. Every current Reflection floorplan on Grand Design’s site has its own page here.

The Reflection 100 Series is the accessible short-bed fifth-wheel entry to the Reflection line, pairing the residential build with the lowest pin weights and prices in the range. Pin weights are the factory’s published figures and climb with cargo — verify your truck's payload and rear-axle rating before towing.

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 21 recall campaigns and 149 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the Reflection line. They are counted separately: a recall is a confirmed defect with a remedy, a complaint one owner’s unverified account.
What to look at on a used one. Across the 149 complaints filed on this line the most-reported components are service brakes (28%), structure (19%) and suspension (14%).
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Reflection line page.
