01 What makes the 2027 39FBRL different

The Pinnacle 39FBRL is one of Jayco's Pinnacle coaches, the flagship of the Jayco towable lineup, above the North Point and Eagle fifth wheels. This page covers one model year of it — the 2027 39FBRL, exactly as Jayco published it — because the numbers that decide whether your truck can pull this trailer are not the same from one year to the next. Jayco publishes it at 8' 6" wide closed and 14' 6" with the slide-outs run out for the 2027 model year, which is the measurement that matters for a site pitch as well as for the road.

For the 2027 model year Jayco published a 18,700-pound GVWR on a 15,570-pound dry weight, 3,130 pounds of published cargo capacity, a 3,130-pound dry pin weight. Check the loaded pin against the truck's payload and rear-axle ratings rather than against the tow rating alone. The 2027 coach left the factory on ST215/75R17.5'H' tyres; the load range in that code is part of the axle rating and a replacement set has to match it.

This is the only 39FBRL model year with a verified factory record in this catalogue.

A 2027 coach is close to current as of 2026, but section 05 still applies: check it against its build date rather than its model year. Jayco commonly builds a model year well before the calendar year turns, and the tyre date codes have to be read against the build month, not the badge.

How the 39FBRL differs from the other twelve Pinnacle floorplans. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out. Not every one of these pages covers the same model years as this one (2027); each figure is the one its own page prints, so a rank compares pages, not one model year.

  • Dry weight, 15,570 lb: third-heaviest of thirteen, between the 38FLGS (15,455 lb) and the 39FLOK (15,870 lb).

  • Dry pin weight as a share of dry weight, 20.1%: fourth-largest of thirteen, between the 32RLTS and 36SSWS (19.8%) and the 37MDQS (20.2%).
  • Exterior height, 12 ft 8 in: fifth-tallest of twelve, between the 32RLTS, 36FBTS and four others (12 ft 7 in) and the 39FLOK (13 ft 3 in).
  • Cargo capacity as a share of GVWR, 16.7%: sixth-largest of twelve, between the 36SSWS and 38FLGS (16.5%) and the 37MDQS (16.8%).
  • GVWR, 18,700 lb: shared with the 38SSWS; of thirteen, nine lower and two higher, nearest the 38FLGS (18,500 lb) and the 39FLOK (18,800 lb).
  • Black tank, 87 gal: largest of thirteen, level with the 36FBTS, 38FBRK and 39DSDB; next are the 38FLGS and 39FLOK (74 gal).

Next to the 38FLGS (2022–2025 page), the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 39FBRL is 115 lb heavier by dry weight, has a GVWR 200 lb higher, has 85 lb more cargo capacity, has a dry pin weight 230 lb heavier, stands 1 in taller, has a grey tank 4.5 gal larger, has a black tank 13 gal larger and sleeps two fewer; the two publish the same interior height and fresh tank.

Next to the 39FLOK (2026–2027 page), the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 39FBRL is 300 lb lighter by dry weight, has a GVWR 100 lb lower, has 200 lb more cargo capacity, has a dry pin weight 35 lb heavier, stands 7 in lower, has a grey tank 4.5 gal larger, has a black tank 13 gal larger and sleeps two fewer; the two publish the same fresh tank.

Specifications by model year

2027 is the only model year this catalogue holds a verified factory record for the 39FBRL. That record is published here on its own, and it is not a general specification for the floorplan: Jayco revises published weights, ratings and even tire sizes from one model year to the next, so every figure below is evidence about 2027 and about no other year.

The row above is the 2027 model year’s own record from Jayco’s model page for that year. When a second model year is sourced for this floorplan, it joins the table above on this same page and at this same address — nothing moves and no link breaks. The figures in the tow-critical placard at the top of this page are that same 2027 record. On the weights, overall length and tire size, that record and Jayco’s own 2027 model page agree on every field both of them publish. Exterior height is not compared: Jayco publishes a bare height, a with-A/C height and a with-2nd-A/C height, and the single height row carried here cannot be matched to one of them, so no claim is made either way.

Payload check. Budget loaded, not dry: subtract the loaded range, every passenger and the bed and cab load from the payload on your tow vehicle’s door-pillar placard (49 CFR 571.110 S4.3).

Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.

Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (18,700 lb) and the upper loaded pin estimate (4,675 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.

Loaded range: 15–25% of GVWR on the pin, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433). The range starts at the published dry figure, because loaded is never lighter than dry.

04 Buying a 2027 39FBRL today

Still in warranty

A current-model-year coach is normally inside Jayco's structural and component warranties. Get the delivery PDI paperwork and confirm the warranty start date is the date of sale, not the date of build.

Check the build date, not the model year

Model-year 2027 units can be built well before the calendar year turns. The federal certification label inside the entry door carries the real month of manufacture, and it is what the tyre date codes should be read against.

Weigh it before you tow it

Every weight on this page is a DRY factory figure for the 2027 model year. A used coach carries its previous owner's additions, and a fifth wheel puts roughly 15-25% of the load through the truck's rear axle. Weigh the loaded rig at a public scale and check it against the truck's payload, rear-axle and hitch ratings.

Every Pinnacle floorplan this catalogue holds a verified factory record for, with its own published weights.

06 Loading it for a trip

A full 75-gallon fresh tank is about 622 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.120 S10.4.2), 20% of the 39FBRL’s 3,130 lb cargo capacity, leaving 2,508 lb (627 lb per rated berth). Across 13 Pinnacle floorplans the water share runs 19% to 26%, and 9 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Pinnacle 38KPTS at 20% and Pinnacle 37MDQS at 20%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.120 S10.4.3).

09 What this page publishes, and what it does not

12 of the 18 fields this catalogue tracks are published for the 39FBRL. Not published: exterior length, slide count, axle count, awning, refrigerator, air conditioning.

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA holds 18 recall campaigns and 31 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the Pinnacle line. They are counted separately: a recall is a confirmed defect with a remedy, a complaint one owner’s unverified account.

What to look at on a used one. Across the 31 complaints filed on this line the most-reported components are suspension (48%), structure (23%) and wheels (10%).

Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Pinnacle line page.
