01 What makes it unique
The Access 16RB is one of two 16-series plans on Winnebago’s current Access floorplan list. Winnebago’s floorplan page draws it with a front queen bed, a convertible dinette, a fully equipped galley and a private rear bath, and lists it at 21 ft 2 in long, 8 ft 0 in wide and 10 ft 6 in tall, with 6 ft 8 in of interior headroom. It sleeps 4. Winnebago’s floorplan page for the 16RB prints no model year; Winnebago’s own product catalogue data lists the Access as a 2026 model, and this page uses that year.
The weights are Winnebago’s: a dry weight of 3,770 lb, a GVWR of 5,100 lb, an axle rating of 5,100 lb and a dry hitch weight of 410 lb at a 22 in hitch height. Winnebago publishes no cargo carrying capacity for it, so this page does not print one and does not compute one. Tanks are 49 gal fresh, 40 gal grey and 40 gal black, with 40 lb of LP capacity and an 18,000-BTU furnace. Winnebago’s page shows the starting price as “Coming Soon”, so none is printed here.
How the 16RB differs from the other fifteen Access floorplans. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out.
- Tongue weight, 410 lb: second-lightest of sixteen, between the 15RB (386 lb) and the 18RK (450 lb).
- Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 10.9%: second-smallest of sixteen, between the 25RK (10.3%) and the 15RB (11%).
- Dry weight, 3,770 lb: third-lightest of sixteen, between the 15RB (3,516 lb) and the 16BH (3,772 lb).
- Length, 21 ft 2 in: shortest of sixteen, level with the 16BH; next are the 15BH and 15RB (21 ft 3 in).
- Sleeping capacity, 4: shared with the 18RK and 24RB; of sixteen, one smaller and twelve larger, nearest the 15RB (3) and the 15BH, 18DBH and four others (5).
- GVWR, 5,100 lb: lowest of sixteen, level with the 15BH, 15RB and three others; next are the 24RB, 25BH and seven others (8,800 lb).
- Exterior height, 10 ft 6 in: shared with the 16BH; of sixteen, four lower and ten taller, nearest the 15BH, 15RB and two others (10 ft 4 in) and the 24RB, 25BH and two others (11 ft 2 in).
- Fresh tank, 49 gal: smallest of sixteen, level with the 15BH, 15RB and three others; next are the 24RB, 25BH and eight others (60 gal).
- Grey tank, 40 gal: smallest of sixteen, level with the 15BH, 15RB and three others; next are the 25BH, 25ML and three others (49 gal).
- Black tank, 40 gal: smallest of sixteen, level with the 15BH, 15RB and three others; next is the 28FK (47 gal).
Next to the 15RB, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 16RB is 254 lb heavier by dry weight, is 1 in shorter, stands 2 in taller and sleeps one more; the two publish the same GVWR, interior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.
Next to the 16BH, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 16RB is 2 lb lighter by dry weight, has a tongue weight 62 lb lighter and sleeps two fewer; the two publish the same GVWR, length, exterior height, interior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (5,100 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (765 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

The Access splits into two build classes. The four single-axle plans (15- and 18-series) are rated to a 5,100-pound GVWR on one 5,100-pound axle, with an 8,000-BTU roof A/C, an 18,000-BTU furnace and a 6-gallon DSI water heater. The ten tandem plans carry an 8,800-pound GVWR on 4,400-pound axles — the 32BR uniquely on 5,200-pound axles for 10,400 pounds — and add a 13,500-BTU ducted A/C, a 30,000-BTU furnace, a 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, a 10-cubic-foot refrigerator and a 2-inch accessory receiver. On each of those fourteen plans the published dry weight plus payload equals the GVWR exactly. Figures are RVUSA structured records cross-checked against Winnebago's factory specification table; tongue weights, awning lengths, axle ratings and dual-grey-tank capacities are factory figures. The 16BH and 16RB, added 23 Oct 2026, are profiled from Winnebago’s own floorplan pages instead: a 5,100-pound GVWR, a 5,100-pound axle rating and an 18,000-BTU furnace, with no cargo capacity published, so none is shown for them. Always confirm against the unit's weight sticker before towing.

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 7 recall campaigns and 2 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the Access line. They are counted separately: a recall is a confirmed defect with a remedy, a complaint one owner’s unverified account.
Too few reports to show a pattern. 2 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover equipment and wheels.
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Access line page.
