01 What makes the 2025 24RL different
The Jay Feather 24RL is one of Jayco's Jay Feather travel trailers, the lightweight step-up line positioned above the value Jay Flight SLX and below the premium Eagle HT. This page covers one model year of it — the 2025 24RL, exactly as Jayco published it — because the numbers that decide whether your truck can pull this trailer are not the same from one year to the next. Jayco publishes it at 8' 0" wide closed and 11' 0" with the slide-outs run out for the 2025 model year, which is the measurement that matters for a site pitch as well as for the road.
For the 2025 model year Jayco published a 7,000-pound GVWR on a 5,670-pound dry weight, 1,330 pounds of published cargo capacity, a 675-pound dry tongue weight. That dry tongue is 12% of the dry weight, inside the 10–15% band conventionally quoted for a bumper-pull trailer. Tongue weight is not fixed — it moves with how the trailer is loaded, and weight added ahead of the axles raises it. A tongue load in that range wants a weight-distribution hitch, and the tow vehicle's tongue-weight limit is a separate number from its trailer-weight limit — check the loaded tongue against the hitch receiver's rating and the vehicle's payload, not against the tow rating alone. The 2025 trailer left the factory on ST205/75R14'D' tyres; the load range in that code is part of the axle rating and a replacement set has to match it.
Against the 2024 build of the same floorplan, 8 published fields moved. The full comparison is in section 02, and it is drawn from two separate verified factory records rather than from one record and an assumption about the other.
A 2025 trailer is close to current as of 2026, but section 05 still applies: check it against its build date rather than its model year. Jayco commonly builds a model year well before the calendar year turns, and the tyre date codes have to be read against the build month, not the badge.
How the 24RL differs from the other 46 Jay Feather floorplans. Most distinctive first. Sibling pages may cover other model years than this one (2021–2025). How these ranks are worked out.
- Cargo capacity as a share of GVWR, 19%: tenth-smallest of 47, between the 24BH and 29QBH (18.9%) and the 30RKB (19.2%).
- Grey tank, 30 gal: shared with the 166FBS, 171BH and four others; of 47, three smaller and 37 larger, nearest the 15TBSL, 17BHSL and 17RBSL (20 gal) and the 18FBS, 21MBH and two others (30.5 gal).
- Black tank, 30 gal: shared with the 15TBSL, 166FBS and seven others; of 47, one smaller and 36 larger, nearest the 17BHSL (20 gal) and the 15MRB, 16RB and sixteen others (30.5 gal).
- Cargo capacity, 1,330 lb: fifteenth-smallest of 47, between the 15MRB (1,320 lb) and the 16FBS (1,340 lb).
- Dry tongue weight, 675 lb: eighteenth-heaviest of 47, between the 24BH (670 lb) and the 26BHSL (680 lb).
- Dry weight, 5,670 lb: 23rd-heaviest of 47, between the 22RB (5,590 lb) and the 23RK (5,780 lb).
- Exterior height, 10 ft 1 in: shared with the 22RB, 24BH and three others; of 47, 27 lower and fourteen taller, nearest the 18MBH, 18RBF and 22BH (10 ft) and the 23MBD, 25RB and five others (10 ft 2 in).
- Dry tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 11.9%: shared with the 171BH; of 47, 26 smaller and nineteen larger, nearest the 30QB (11.6%) and the 166FBS, 21MML and 25RB (12.1%).
- GVWR, 7,000 lb: shared with the 22RB; of 47, 21 lower and 24 higher, nearest the 21MBH (6,995 lb) and the 26BHSL (7,200 lb).
- Length, 28 ft: shared with the 23MBD; of 47, 22 shorter and 23 longer, nearest the 22RB (27 ft 2 in) and the 23RK (28 ft 7 in).
- Sleeping capacity, 6: shared with the 17BHSL, 21MBH and five others; of 47, 23 smaller and sixteen larger, nearest the 171BH (5) and the 22BH and 23MBD (7).
Next to the 22RB, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 24RL is 80 lb heavier by dry weight, has 80 lb less cargo capacity, has a dry tongue weight 40 lb heavier, is 10 in longer, has a grey tank 30 gal smaller, has a black tank 4 gal smaller and sleeps two more; the two publish the same GVWR, exterior height, interior height and fresh tank.
Next to the 23RK (2024–2027 page), the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 24RL is 110 lb lighter by dry weight, has a GVWR 400 lb lower, has 290 lb less cargo capacity, has a dry tongue weight 10 lb heavier, is 7 in shorter, stands 3 in taller, has a grey tank 31 gal smaller, has a black tank 0.5 gal smaller and sleeps two more; the two publish the same interior height and fresh tank.
Specifications by model year
This floorplan has a published factory record for 5 model years here, 2021 to 2025. The specification does not hold still: GVWR runs from 6,500 lb (2021) to 7,000 lb (2025); dry weight runs from 5,305 lb (2024) to 5,670 lb (2025); dry tongue weight runs from 640 lb (2024) to 675 lb (2025). The published sleeping capacity changes across the years: 4-6 in 2021–2022, up to 6 in 2023–2025. Each year’s complete record is printed separately below, carrying only that year’s own published figures and source. Nothing is copied across from a neighbouring year.
| Model year | Dry (UVW) | GVWR | Cargo (CCC) | Dry tongue | Length | Sleeps | Tire size |

Every row is that model year’s own record from Jayco’s model page or factory brochure for that year, as the source line for each year names. The figures in the tow-critical placard at the top of this page are the 2025 record from the source this catalogue originally profiled. On the weights, overall length and tire size, that record and Jayco’s own 2025 model page agree on every field both of them publish. Exterior height is not compared: Jayco publishes a bare height, a with-A/C height and a with-2nd-A/C height, and the single height row carried here cannot be matched to one of them, so no claim is made either way.

What changed for the 2021 model year
2021 is the earliest model year of the 24RL on this site, so there is no earlier record to set it against. Section 01 compares it with 2022.
Source for 2021. Specifications reflect the 2021 model year as published by Jayco on its own 2021 factory brochure for this product line, and are dry factory figures for a base unit. Options, dealer-installed equipment and cargo all add weight. A travel trailer puts its tongue load on the tow vehicle's hitch and through its rear axle, so the loaded tongue must be checked against the receiver's rating and the vehicle's payload, not against its tow rating. Dry weight plus cargo capacity ties out exactly to the published GVWR for this model year. CamperTrailers.com publishes verified manufacturer data and is not affiliated with Jayco, Inc.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (7,000 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (1,050 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).
03 What changed for the 2025 model year
Jayco changed 8 of the published fields between the 2024 and 2025 24RL. Every figure in both columns is that model year's own factory record — nothing here is carried across from the other year.

Every row is that model year's own factory record, and each year links to its own page. The fuller table at the top of this page adds cargo capacity and names any model year that is deliberately not published here.
GVWR changed for 2025
GVWR was 6,750 for 2024 and is 7,000 for 2025 (+250 lb). Both figures are the manufacturer's own for their year.
Dry tongue weight changed for 2025
Dry tongue weight was 640 for 2024 and is 675 for 2025 (+35 lb). Both figures are the manufacturer's own for their year.
Where these numbers come from
Every figure on this page is read from Jayco's own 2025 model page for the 24RL — one source, one model year, no blending. The all-years parent page sets this year beside every other model year we hold, and where the record this catalogue originally profiled disagrees with Jayco's own model page, both figures are published there and neither is adjusted.
Fields Jayco does not publish for 2025
For this model year the factory record omits: Furnace, Auto-ignition (BTU output). Those rows read “Not published” on this page. They are deliberately not filled in from an adjacent model year — a neighbouring year's figure is an inference about this one, not a measurement of it.
04 Buying a 2025 24RL at 1 model years old
Tyres are the first thing to age out
RV tyres are usually replaced on age rather than tread, at roughly five to seven years from the DOT date code on the sidewall. On a 1-year-old trailer the originals (ST205/75R14'D') may still be fitted — read the four-digit date code, not the tread.
Roof and seam sealant is on a service interval
Travel trailers rely on sealant at every roof penetration, along the front cap and around every window and marker light. Inspection is typically annual and re-sealing every few years; ask for the service records rather than assuming.
Weigh it before you tow it
Every weight on this page is a DRY factory figure for the 2025 model year. A used trailer carries its previous owner's additions, and a travel trailer puts its tongue load on the tow vehicle's hitch and through its rear axle. Weigh the loaded rig at a public scale and check it against the tow vehicle's payload, rear-axle and hitch ratings.
05 How it compares — and to its other years
The same floorplan one model year earlier, with its own published weights.
Every Jay Feather floorplan this catalogue holds a verified factory record for, with its own published weights.
06 Loading it for a trip
