01 What Sundance Fifth Wheel is

Sundance Fifth Wheel is Heartland's fifth-wheel roster under the Sundance name. Heartland publishes 3 floorplans for 2027 and all 3 are profiled here, from 9,765 lb dry (29RLCS, 34' 0" long) to 13,235 lb dry (35MRBS, 42' 1" long), with published hitch weights of 1,790 to 2,530 lb. Dry weight plus cargo carrying capacity equals the published GVWR exactly on 3 of 3.

Across the whole Sundance Fifth Wheel roster the published dry weights run from 9,765 lbs to 13,235 lbs, cargo capacities from 1,835 lbs to 2,360 lbs, and published pin weights from 1,790 lbs to 2,530 lbs. Exterior lengths run 34 to 42 feet. Those are Heartland's published figures, read from each floorplan's own Quick Specs page.

Heartland publishes a GVWR for 3 of the 3 floorplans, and on 3 of those the arithmetic ties out exactly: dry weight plus cargo capacity equals the published rating to the pound. That check is run on every plan before it is profiled here, and a plan that fails it is catalogued with the disagreement printed rather than quietly corrected.

02 Floorplans profiled in depth

3 of the 3 Sundance Fifth Wheel floorplans are profiled in full below, each on its own page with the complete factory weight, dimension and tank block. The profiled set is spread across the weight range rather than taken from one end of it, so the lightest and heaviest plans in the line are both represented. Every plan profiled here publishes a full field set and, where Heartland publishes a GVWR, passes the dry-plus-cargo arithmetic check.

FloorplanDry wtLengthCargoPin wtGVWR
29RLCS9,76534' 0"1,8351,79011,600

35MRBS13,23542' 1"2,1652,53015,400

Every figure in this table is a Heartland factory publication for 2027, read once, from each floorplan's own Quick Specs page. Sleeping capacity and tire size are on each plan page; axle count and MSRP, which Heartland also prints, are not carried in this capture.

03 Also in the 2027 line

Every 2027 Sundance Fifth Wheel floorplan Heartland publishes is profiled above, so this table is empty. A plan is catalogued rather than profiled when the factory has not yet published its full field set, when its own published figures disagree with each other, or simply because the profiled set is capped. Nothing in this table is estimated.

FloorplanDry wtGVWRCargoPin wtStatus

Catalogued plans carry the factory figures Heartland publishes and nothing else. A row reading “Not published” means the factory does not publish that field for that plan - it is never a placeholder for a figure this site could not be bothered to find.

04 How to choose

Sort this line by the constraint you actually have. If the truck is fixed, start at the weight column: the lightest plan in the roster is the 29RLCS at 9,765 lbs dry and the heaviest is the 35MRBS at 13,235 lbs, and that spread is wide enough that the two ends are not the same buying decision. If the truck is not fixed, sort by cargo capacity instead - the 32RLBS carries the most at 2,360 lbs, and payload is the number that runs out first on a long trip.

Do not sort by floorplan number. Heartland's codes encode length loosely and layout not at all, and this site does not decode them into layout claims. Two plans with adjacent numbers in this roster can differ by hundreds of pounds of dry weight and by more than that in published pin weight, which is the figure that determines what the truck has to be.

Where Heartland publishes a floorplan description it is quoted on the plan page and identified as factory marketing copy rather than a specification. Where it publishes none, the plan page says so instead of describing a layout that nobody has verified. That is the difference between a catalogue and a brochure.

05 What to weigh before buying

What this line is

This hub catalogues three Heartland Sundance rosters read on 4 Nov 2026: Sundance Fifth Wheel for 2027 (3 floorplans), Sundance Fifth Wheel for 2026 (3 floorplans on this site) and Sundance travel trailers for 2027 (3 floorplans). 29RLCS and 35MRBS appear on both the 2026 and 2027 fifth-wheel rosters; their pages carry the 2027 record.

What this hub does not carry

Heartland's Quick Specs pages also print axle count and MSRP; this capture does not carry them, so they are absent here rather than estimated. Sleeping capacity is shown as Heartland prints it, and tire size only where Heartland prints one. A tire size is a safety-relevant number that differs between two codes a digit apart, and this site does not guess one.

Match the truck honestly

The plans here run from 9,765 lbs to 13,235 lbs dry with published pin weights of 1,790 lbs to 2,530 lbs. Dry weight is not towing weight - water, batteries, propane, gear and dealer-installed accessories all sit on top of it, and pin weight rises with them. For a fifth wheel the pin load comes off the truck's payload rating rather than its towing rating, which is the number most often quoted and the wrong one. Read your own door sticker, and weigh the trailer loaded the way you actually travel.

Sundance travel trailers — factory roster, MY2027

Sundance travel trailers are a bumper-pull roster on a hub whose own roster is fifth wheels, so the hitch figures below are tongue weights, not pin weights. These are Heartland's 2027 Quick Specs records for 27OKFK, 29RLBS, 31BROK.

Heartland also publishes 2026 Sundance travel-trailer records (roster https://heartlandrvs.com/brand/sundance-ultra-lite-2026/). They are printed here and not built as pages. Heartland's 2026 records for 29RLBS and 31BROK differ from the 2027 records above and are not merged: 29RLBS: 33' 9", 8,335 lb dry, 10,200 lb GVWR in 2026 against 37' 11", 9,515 lb dry, 11,700 lb GVWR in 2027; 31BROK: 38' 9", 9,845 lb dry, 11,995 lb GVWR in 2026 against 38' 8", 9,620 lb dry, 11,995 lb GVWR in 2027. This site prints both years and chooses neither. 27RBSS (2026) publishes Dry Weight 7,055 + Cargo Carrying Capacity 2,150 = 9,205 against a GVWR of 9,400, so it is catalogued, not profiled.

How this count is drawn. A report is counted here only when NHTSA’s own model field names this line. What the owner typed in the description is never used to attribute a report: our line names are ordinary English words, and an owner writing “imagine my surprise when the axle went” or naming the state of Montana is not reporting a Grand Design Imagine or a Keystone Montana. Held out of it: Sundance Xlt, Sundance Xlt FW and Sundance Xlt TT (Heartland's separate Sundance XLT series).

Read these as reports, not as findings. Complaints are submitted by owners and NHTSA does not verify them; no complaint here has been confirmed as a defect, and none of them is a recall. The sample is also self-selected — only owners motivated to file appear in it — so a high count tracks how many units a line sold at least as much as how well it was built. Use the pattern, not the total: a component that keeps recurring is worth inspecting on any used unit. File or search complaints at NHTSA.
