01 What makes it unique
The Vibe 2900KB leaves Forest River's factory at 7,088 lbs dry with 2,512 lbs of cargo capacity. Forest River publishes no GVWR for this line, so the loaded rating is not quoted on this page and is not computed from the other two figures. What the cargo number covers is defined by the factory: fresh water, gear, food, batteries and every dealer-installed accessory come out of it. Fresh water is 8.3 lb per gallon, so filling the 38-gallon fresh tank spends 315 lbs of the 2,512 lbs before anything else goes in.
Forest River’s 2027 floorplan drawing for the 2900KB shows, at the front, a custom king bed between wardrobes and shelves, with a TV prep, beside a bath with a shower, a medicine cabinet and linen storage. Mid-coach: theater seating and a booth dinette in a slide, and a kitchen with a pantry, a fridge, a cooktop, a microwave below, a sink and a mini fridge. At the rear: two bunk rooms either side of the bunk beds, each with a wardrobe. It draws one slide-out. Outside it labels an outside fridge and pass-through storage. Layouts change with options; check the unit itself.
Tongue weight is 920 lbs, 13% of the dry weight as published; it rises as the trailer is loaded and counts against the tow vehicle’s tongue-weight and payload limits (tongue weight by size).
Off hookups: 90 gallons of grey and black capacity against 38 gallons of fresh water, so fresh water runs out first (tank sizes by length).
Against the rest of the Vibe roster this is the 4th of 9 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 6,758 lbs to 8,933 lbs. It sits in the middle of the line by weight.
Plan the tow on loaded weight, not the 7,088 lbs dry figure: half the published cargo capacity brings this plan to about 8,344 lbs. Forest River publishes no loaded rating for this line, so the ceiling is the one on the trailer’s own weight label (how to read trailer weights).
Forest River’s line listing and this floorplan’s own factory page agree on all 4 shared figures. No GVWR is published for this line, so dry plus cargo has no rating to check against. A missing row means Forest River does not publish that figure (how figures are verified).
Forest River publishes no written floorplan description for this plan; the layout described above is read off Forest River’s own floorplan drawing for this model year. 2900KB is a Vibe designation, and this site does not decode the code itself into a layout claim.
How the 2900KB differs from the other eight Vibe floorplans. Most distinctive first. How these ranks are worked out.
- Grey tank, 60 gal: smallest of nine; next is the 2600BH (68 gal).
- Tongue weight, 920 lb: second-lightest of nine, between the 2600RK (875 lb) and the 2600RB (955 lb).
- Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 13%: third-smallest of nine, between the 3400XL (12.7%) and the 3400BH (13.4%).
- Dry weight, 7,088 lb: fourth-lightest of nine, between the 2600BH (7,048 lb) and the 2500FIK (7,123 lb).
- Cargo capacity, 2,512 lb: fourth-smallest of nine, between the 3400XL (2,502 lb) and the 2500FIK (2,637 lb).
- Length, 35 ft 9 in: fourth-longest of nine, between the 2800RL (35 ft) and the 3400BH, 3400SB and 3400XL (39 ft 10 in).
- Exterior height, 11 ft 1 in: lowest of nine, level with the 2500FIK; next are the 2600BH and 2600RB (11 ft 2 in).
Next to the 2600BH, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 2900KB is 40 lb heavier by dry weight, has 250 lb less cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 90 lb lighter, is 1 ft longer, stands 1 in lower and has a grey tank 8 gal smaller; the two publish the same fresh tank and black tank.
Next to the 2500FIK, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 2900KB is 35 lb lighter by dry weight, has 125 lb less cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 40 lb lighter, is 4 ft 11 in longer and has a grey tank 9 gal smaller; the two publish the same exterior height, fresh tank and black tank.

03 The Vibe floorplan family
Vibe is Forest River's mid-size family travel trailer, and it comes with a documentation problem worth knowing before you shop it: Forest River publishes dry weight, cargo capacity and tongue weight for every Vibe floorplan, and publishes no GVWR for any of them. That is not an omission on this page. The factory spec block runs hitch weight, then UVW, then CCC, then dimensions and tanks, and stops. Every GVWR figure you will see quoted for a Vibe comes from somewhere other than Forest River's own spec channel.

Vibe is Forest River's mid-size family travel-trailer line, eleven floorplans for 2027. Forest River publishes dry weight, cargo capacity, tongue weight, the exterior dimensions and all three tank capacities for the roster - and no GVWR for any plan in it. The GVWR column is therefore absent from this line's tables rather than filled from a secondary source or computed. Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size, awning size and MSRP are also not published in this channel.
04 Notes on this floorplan
What Forest River does not publish for this line
Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are not in Forest River’s specification channel for Vibe, so this page does not publish them and does not estimate them (how figures are verified).
There is no factory GVWR for this trailer
Forest River publishes dry weight, cargo capacity and tongue weight for every Vibe floorplan and publishes no GVWR for any of them. The factory's own glossary defines cargo capacity as GVWR minus UVW, which means the rating can be worked out - and a figure you worked out is not a figure the manufacturer published, so this page does not print one. Use the weight label on the trailer itself, which every Forest River unit carries.
Awning size is not published for this floorplan
Forest River publishes an awning size for some Vibe floorplans and not for this one. The row reads as unpublished rather than being filled from a neighbouring plan in the same roster.
Weigh it before you tow it
Forest River calls its unloaded weight an estimated average for a standard build, and options and dealer add-ons change it, so weigh your own trailer loaded the way you travel (how figures are verified).
05 How it compares
7,048 lbs dry against this plan's 7,088 lbs, a difference of 40 lbs.
7,123 lbs dry, 35 lbs more than this plan, and 2,637 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 2,512 lbs.
2,997 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 9 Vibe floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 38-gallon fresh tank is about 315 lb of water, 13% of the 2900KB’s 2,512 lb cargo capacity, leaving 2,197 lb. Across 9 Vibe floorplans the water share runs 11% to 15%, and 3 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Vibe 2500FIK at 12% and Vibe 3400XL at 13%.
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the Vibe 2600BH, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 5 of the 7 fields both publish (this plan first): length 35 ft 9 in vs 34 ft 9 in; dry weight 7,088 lb vs 7,048 lb; cargo capacity 2,512 lb vs 2,762 lb; hitch weight 920 lb vs 1,010 lb; grey tank 60 gal vs 68 gal. They match on fresh tank and black tank.

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 16 recall campaigns and 20 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the Vibe line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).
What to look at on a used one. Across the 20 complaints filed on this line the most-reported components are suspension (35%), structure (20%) and tires (20%).
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Vibe line page.
