01 What makes it unique

The 27DBH is the base Aurora most buyers actually meet: a rear bunk room with double-over-double berths and its own entry door, a U-dinette riding the single street-side slide, a walk-around front queen and a camp-side outside kitchen under the 21-foot awning. Two entries mean sandy kids go straight to the bunk room, and the 74-gallon grey tank — among the largest in the family — keeps a full crew showering for a long weekend.

The build is the standard wide-body Aurora package: Norco electromagnetic powder-coated chassis, metal siding under the seamless lifetime-warranty roof membrane, enclosed sealed underbelly, power tongue jack, solid-surface counters, the 15,000-BTU GE ducted heat-pump air conditioner, 35,000-BTU furnace, GE tankless water heater and the 10.7-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator. The factory prints a 9,186-pound GVWR and the published 7,186 UVW plus 2,000 CCC equals it exactly.

At 7,186 pounds dry with an 876-pound tongue this is still half-ton work, but it is honest half-ton work: load eight sleepers, water and gear and the 2,000-pound cargo margin is spoken for quickly. Families who outgrow it move to the 29TQS triple-queen or the 34BHTS flagship; the catalogued 28BHS and 29QBS on the hub bracket it in size.

03 Aurora floorplan family

Forest River's Aurora line — the 96-inch wide-body tier of the value family: twelve 2026 tandem-axle floorplans from a 29-foot-9 rear-bath couples plan to a 37-foot-10 triple-slide flagship bunkhouse, every one on the Norco electromagnetic powder-coated chassis with a 15,000-BTU GE ducted heat-pump air conditioner, solid-surface counters and a GE 60,000-BTU tankless water heater standard. Six plans are profiled in depth; the full roster including catalogued plans lives on the Aurora hub with verified weights.

Every base Aurora is a tandem-axle 96-inch wide-body on the Norco electromagnetic powder-coated chassis. This is a published-GVWR-clean line: on every plan the factory detail page prints a GVWR, and the published UVW plus CCC sums to it exactly, with no derivation. Forest River publishes no per-plan axle ratings and no MSRP for the line; sleeps counts are RVUSA catalog fields, and RVUSA's weight records lag the current factory figures on several plans — a logged conflict, resolved to the factory detail pages throughout. Always confirm against the unit's weight sticker before towing.

04 What owners & reviewers report

The family workhorse

On the 10 Jul 2026 RVUSA probe the 27DBH appeared in more live Aurora listings than any other floorplan — the de facto volume plan of the family.

RVUSA agrees exactly here

Unlike several siblings, the RVUSA catalog record for the 27DBH matches the factory detail page to the pound — 7,186 dry, 9,186 GVWR, 876 hitch.

Watch the payload with eight aboard

Eight berths against 2,000 pounds of cargo margin means water, gear and hitch accessories need weighing — a full fresh tank alone claims about 315 pounds.

No published MSRP

Forest River publishes no MSRP for the family; live 27DBH asking prices on the probe day clustered in the high $20,000s to mid $30,000s. Confirm with a dealer.
