01 What makes it unique

Keystone publishes three weights for the Coleman Legacy 2950RL: a shipping weight of 7,235 lb, a carrying capacity of 2,265 lb and a hitch weight of 905 lb. Those are Keystone’s own terms, and this page keeps them. Keystone does not call the first figure dry or unloaded weight, does not say the hitch figure is measured dry, and publishes no GVWR for any Coleman floorplan, so none of the three is renamed here and no loaded rating is worked out from them. The trailer’s own federal weight label, inside the door, is the document that carries its UVW, cargo capacity and GVWR.

Tank capacities are 54 gal fresh, 68 gal gray and 34 gal waste, as Keystone lists them. Fresh water weighs about 8.3 lb per US gallon, so a full fresh tank is roughly 448 lb on the road before anything else is loaded. The tire size Keystone lists is ST225/75R15D.

Against the 8 Coleman Legacy floorplans profiled here, this one is the 5th by Keystone’s shipping weight, in a range from 5,066 lb (1905RB) to 9,250 lb (2800SUNDECK). Every figure in that comparison comes from the same Keystone page type for the same model year, so the comparison inside the series is like for like.

Every number on this page was read on 19 Oct 2026 from Keystone’s own floorplan page for the Coleman Legacy 2950RL. That page carries no model year, so the year comes from the roster page that links it, which lists the Coleman Legacy floorplans under the heading “2027 Floorplans”. Keystone notes that its website reflects the most recent production run and that features and specifications change during the year.

How the 2950RL differs from the other four Coleman Legacy travel trailers. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out.

  • Carrying capacity (Keystone’s term), 2,265 lb: second-largest of five, between the 1905RB (2,034 lb) and the 2600RB (2,269 lb).
  • Hitch weight as a share of shipping weight, 12.5%: second-largest of five, between the 2600RB (12.3%) and the 2900BH (12.9%).
  • Sleeping capacity, 4: second-largest of five, between the 2115RK and 2600RB (3) and the 2900BH (9).
  • Length, 33 ft 11 in: longest of five, level with the 2900BH; next is the 2600RB (30 ft 11 in).
  • Grey tank, 68 gal: largest of five, level with the 2900BH; next are the 1905RB, 2115RK and 2600RB (34 gal).

Next to the 2900BH, the nearest lighter floorplan by shipping weight, the 2950RL is 345 lb heavier by shipping weight, has 255 lb more carrying capacity, has a hitch weight 15 lb heavier and sleeps five fewer; the two publish the same length, exterior height, fresh tank and grey tank.

04 Notes on this floorplan

What Keystone does not publish for the Coleman Legacy

No GVWR, no unloaded (dry) weight under that name, no dry hitch weight and no exterior width appear on Keystone’s floorplan pages for this series, so those rows read as not published. Nothing is filled from a sibling floorplan, a different model year or a dealer listing.

Read the label on the trailer

Federal rules put a load-carrying label inside every RV trailer: its unloaded weight with full propane, its cargo carrying capacity and its GVWR (49 CFR 571.110 and 571.120). On a Coleman those figures come from the trailer, not from this page, and they govern the towing decision.

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA holds 11 recall campaigns and 2 owner complaints against the Coleman line. They are counted separately: a recall is a confirmed defect with a remedy, a complaint one owner’s unverified account.

Too few reports to show a pattern. 2 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover structure.

Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Coleman line page.
