01 What makes it unique
Keystone publishes three weights for the Coleman Light 26BX: a shipping weight of 5,100 lb, a carrying capacity of 1,900 lb and a hitch weight of 630 lb. Those are Keystone’s own terms, and this page keeps them. Keystone does not call the first figure dry or unloaded weight, does not say the hitch figure is measured dry, and publishes no GVWR for any Coleman floorplan, so none of the three is renamed here and no loaded rating is worked out from them. The trailer’s own federal weight label, inside the door, is the document that carries its UVW, cargo capacity and GVWR.
Tank capacities are 41 gal fresh, 34 gal gray and 34 gal waste, as Keystone lists them. Fresh water weighs about 8.3 lb per US gallon, so a full fresh tank is roughly 340 lb on the road before anything else is loaded. The tire size Keystone lists is ST205/75R14D.
Against the 9 Coleman Light floorplans profiled here, this one is the 8th by Keystone’s shipping weight, in a range from 2,785 lb (17BX) to 5,925 lb (29BX). Every figure in that comparison comes from the same Keystone page type for the same model year, so the comparison inside the series is like for like.
Every number on this page was read on 19 Oct 2026 from Keystone’s own floorplan page for the Coleman Light 26BX. That page carries no model year, so the year comes from the roster page that links it, which lists the Coleman Light floorplans under the heading “2027 Floorplans”. Keystone notes that its website reflects the most recent production run and that features and specifications change during the year.
How the 26BX differs from the other eight Coleman Light floorplans. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out.
- Shipping weight (Keystone’s term), 5,100 lb: second-heaviest of nine, between the 23TX (4,960 lb) and the 29BX (5,925 lb).
- Length, 30 ft 3 in: second-longest of nine, between the 24RX (28 ft 9 in) and the 29BX (33 ft 6 in).
- Hitch weight as Keystone lists it, 630 lb: third-heaviest of nine, between the 22BX (570 lb) and the 23TX (635 lb).
- Carrying capacity (Keystone’s term), 1,900 lb: fifth-smallest of nine, between the 22BX (1,880 lb) and the 29BX (2,075 lb).
- Hitch weight as a share of shipping weight, 12.4%: fifth-smallest of nine, between the 22BX (12.3%) and the 17BX (12.6%).
- Sleeping capacity, 8: largest of nine, level with the 29BX; next is the 22BX (7).
Next to the 23TX, the nearest lighter floorplan by shipping weight, the 26BX is 140 lb heavier by shipping weight, has 1,640 lb less carrying capacity, has a hitch weight 5 lb lighter, is 2 ft 5 in longer and sleeps two more; the two publish the same exterior height, fresh tank and grey tank.
Next to the 29BX, the nearest heavier floorplan by shipping weight, the 26BX is 825 lb lighter by shipping weight, has 175 lb less carrying capacity, has a hitch weight 160 lb lighter, is 3 ft 3 in shorter and has a grey tank 34 gal smaller; the two publish the same exterior height, fresh tank and sleeping capacity.

04 Notes on this floorplan
What Keystone does not publish for the Coleman Light
No GVWR, no unloaded (dry) weight under that name, no dry hitch weight and no exterior width appear on Keystone’s floorplan pages for this series, so those rows read as not published. Nothing is filled from a sibling floorplan, a different model year or a dealer listing.
Read the label on the trailer
Federal rules put a load-carrying label inside every RV trailer: its unloaded weight with full propane, its cargo carrying capacity and its GVWR (49 CFR 571.110 and 571.120). On a Coleman those figures come from the trailer, not from this page, and they govern the towing decision.
05 How it compares
4,960 lb shipping weight against this plan’s 5,100 lb (Keystone’s figures, same series, same model year).
5,925 lb shipping weight and 2,075 lb carrying capacity, against this plan’s 5,100 lb and 1,900 lb.
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the Coleman Light 23TX, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 3 of the 5 fields both publish (this plan first): length 30 ft 3 in vs 27 ft 10 in; sleeps 8 vs 6; hitch weight 630 lb vs 635 lb. They match on fresh tank and grey tank.

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 11 recall campaigns and 2 owner complaints against the Coleman line. They are counted separately: a recall is a confirmed defect with a remedy, a complaint one owner’s unverified account.
Too few reports to show a pattern. 2 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover structure.
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Coleman line page.
