01 What makes it unique

KZ lists the 2007 Jag 24JB at 4,300 lb dry, a GVWR of 6,000 lb, a net carrying capacity of 2,700 lb and a tongue weight of 450 lb. KZ’s own figures do not add up — a conflict, stated not resolved: 4,300 lb dry plus 2,700 lb carrying capacity is 7,000 lb, against a printed GVWR of 6,000 lb. All three are shown as KZ prints them and none is corrected; the federal label on the trailer is the one to trust.

It is 26'10" long and 121" high. KZ prints its tanks as 30 gal fresh, 35 gal grey, 35 gal black.

Among the 19 Jag floorplans KZ’s Jag brochure (filed in KZ’s 2007 brochure folder; the brochure prints no year) lists with a published dry weight, it is number 3 from the lightest, in a range from 3,840 lb (Jag 20J) to 8,724 lb (Jag 38J2S). Every figure in that comparison is KZ’s, for the same model year.

Every number on this page was read on 5 Nov 2026 from KZ’s Jag brochure (filed in KZ’s 2007 brochure folder; the brochure prints no year); model year 2007 comes from where the maker files it on its own site, not from the document’s text.

How the 24JB differs from the other fourteen Jag travel trailers. Most distinctive first. How these ranks are worked out.

  • Tongue weight, 450 lb: second-lightest of fifteen, between the 26JS (440 lb) and the 25JQ (460 lb).
  • Dry weight, 4,300 lb: third-lightest of fifteen, between the 21JQ (4,286 lb) and the 25JS (4,590 lb).
  • Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 10.5%: fifth-smallest of fifteen, between the 32JSS (9.9%) and the 28JSS (10.6%).
  • Length, 26 ft 10 in: fifth-shortest of fifteen, between the 25JS (25 ft 6 in) and the 26JS (27 ft 3 in).
  • GVWR, 6,000 lb: lowest of fifteen, level with the 20J and 21JQ; next are the 25JQ, 25JS and three others (7,000 lb).
  • Cargo capacity, 2,700 lb: seventh-largest of fifteen, between the 25JS (2,410 lb) and the 21JQ (2,714 lb).
  • Exterior height, 10 ft 1 in: lowest of fifteen, level with the 20J, 21JQ and three others; next are the 28JBSS, 28JSS and seven others (10 ft 11 in).
  • Interior height, 6 ft 6 in: lowest of fifteen, level with the 20J, 21JQ and three others; next are the 28JBSS, 28JSS and seven others (6 ft 10 in).

Next to the 21JQ, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 24JB is 14 lb heavier by dry weight, has 14 lb less cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 60 lb lighter and is 4 ft 6 in longer; the two publish the same GVWR, exterior height, interior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Next to the 25JS, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 24JB is 290 lb lighter by dry weight, has a GVWR 1,000 lb lower, has 290 lb more cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 60 lb lighter and is 1 ft 4 in longer; the two publish the same exterior height, interior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Towing it

Tow rating needed6,000 lb
Published tongue weight450 lb
Loaded tongue weight, rule of thumb600–900 lb
Receiver hitch rating needed6,000 lb towed / 900 lb tongue
Payload check. Budget loaded, not dry: subtract the loaded range, every passenger, the bed and cab load and a weight-distributing hitch from the payload on your tow vehicle’s door-pillar placard (49 CFR 571.110 S4.3).

Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.

Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (6,000 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (900 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern. This floorplan’s published dry weight plus cargo capacity comes to 7,000 lb, which is not its published GVWR; the check uses the published GVWR.

Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

04 Notes on this floorplan

What KZ does not publish for the Jag 24JB

KZ prints no sleeping capacity for this model, so none is given. Nothing is filled from a sibling model, a different model year or a dealer listing.

Read the label on the trailer

Federal rules put a load-carrying label inside every RV trailer: its unloaded weight with full propane, its cargo carrying capacity and its GVWR (49 CFR 571.110 and 571.120). Those figures come from the trailer itself and govern the towing decision.

05 How it compares

Lighter
KZ Jag 21JQ

4,286 lb dry and 6,000 lb GVWR, against this model’s 4,300 lb and 6,000 lb.

Heavier
KZ Jag 25JS

4,590 lb dry and 7,000 lb GVWR, against this model’s 4,300 lb and 6,000 lb.

06 Loading it for a trip

A full 30-gallon fresh tank is about 249 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 9% of the Jag 24JB’s 2,700 lb cargo capacity, leaving 2,451 lb. Across 15 Jag travel-trailer floorplans the water share runs 6% to 18%, and 8 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Jag 21JQ at 9% and Jag 25JS at 10%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).

07 Where this floorplan sits

Closest sibling: the Jag 21JQ, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 4 of the 8 fields both publish (this plan first): length 26 ft 10 in vs 22 ft 4 in; dry weight 4,300 lb vs 4,286 lb; cargo capacity 2,700 lb vs 2,714 lb; hitch weight 450 lb vs 510 lb. They match on GVWR, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

09 What this page publishes, and what it does not

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA holds 3 recall campaigns against the Jag line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).

Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Jag line page.

Earlier model years

The record at the top of this page is the 24JB from 2007. The maker’s own documents for earlier model years also list the 24JB, and that year is printed here: 2006. The figures change from year to year, so check the year on the trailer’s own label. A field a year’s brochure does not print reads “Not published” and is never filled from another year.

Source for 2006. Printed in KZ RV’s Jag brochure (www.kz-rv.com). The document itself prints no model year; KZ RV files it under 2006 in its own brochure folder. The brochure’s own figures do not add up: 4,300 lb dry plus 2,700 lb cargo is 7,000 lb, against a printed GVWR of 6,000 lb. Both are printed as published; neither is corrected. Nothing in this record is copied from another model year.

NHTSA record for 2006 Jag

2 recall campaigns filed with NHTSA name the Jag for model year 2006:

No owner complaint filed with NHTSA names the Jag for model year 2006. NHTSA files recalls and complaints by line and model year, not by floorplan, so a campaign listed here may not affect every Jag floorplan; the recall notice says which units it covers.
