01 What makes it unique

KZ lists the 2007 Jag 32JSS at 6,700 lb dry, a GVWR of 10,000 lb, a net carrying capacity of 3,940 lb and a tongue weight of 660 lb. KZ’s own figures do not add up — a conflict, stated not resolved: 6,700 lb dry plus 3,940 lb carrying capacity is 10,640 lb, against a printed GVWR of 10,000 lb. All three are shown as KZ prints them and none is corrected; the federal label on the trailer is the one to trust.

It is 33'6" long and 131" high. KZ prints its tanks as 30 gal fresh, 35 gal grey, 35 gal black.

Among the 19 Jag floorplans KZ’s Jag brochure (filed in KZ’s 2007 brochure folder; the brochure prints no year) lists with a published dry weight, it is number 14 from the lightest, in a range from 3,840 lb (Jag 20J) to 8,724 lb (Jag 38J2S). Every figure in that comparison is KZ’s, for the same model year.

Every number on this page was read on 5 Nov 2026 from KZ’s Jag brochure (filed in KZ’s 2007 brochure folder; the brochure prints no year); model year 2007 comes from where the maker files it on its own site, not from the document’s text.

How the 32JSS differs from the other fourteen Jag travel trailers. Most distinctive first. How these ranks are worked out.

  • Cargo capacity, 3,940 lb: largest of fifteen; next is the 28JBSS (3,870 lb).
  • Dry weight, 6,700 lb: fourth-heaviest of fifteen, between the 29JSS (6,320 lb) and the 33J2S (7,031 lb).
  • Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 9.9%: fourth-smallest of fifteen, between the 25JQ (9.6%) and the 24JB (10.5%).
  • Length, 33 ft 6 in: fourth-longest of fifteen, between the 29JSS (30 ft) and the 33J2S (34 ft 2 in).
  • GVWR, 10,000 lb: highest of fifteen, level with the 28JBSS, 28JSS and four others; next are the 25JQ, 25JS and three others (7,000 lb).
  • Tongue weight, 660 lb: shared with the 28JSS; of fifteen, eight lighter and five heavier, nearest the 29JB (650 lb) and the 38JSS (700 lb).

Next to the 29JSS, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 32JSS is 380 lb heavier by dry weight, has 260 lb more cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 450 lb lighter and is 3 ft 6 in longer; the two publish the same GVWR, exterior height, interior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Next to the 33J2S, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 32JSS is 331 lb lighter by dry weight, has 971 lb more cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 138 lb lighter and is 8 in shorter; the two publish the same GVWR, exterior height, interior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Towing it

Tow rating needed10,000 lb
Published tongue weight660 lb
Loaded tongue weight, rule of thumb1,000–1,500 lb
Receiver hitch rating needed10,000 lb towed / 1,500 lb tongue
Payload check. Budget loaded, not dry: subtract the loaded range, every passenger, the bed and cab load and a weight-distributing hitch from the payload on your tow vehicle’s door-pillar placard (49 CFR 571.110 S4.3).

Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.

Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (10,000 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (1,500 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern. This floorplan’s published dry weight plus cargo capacity comes to 10,640 lb, which is not its published GVWR; the check uses the published GVWR.

Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

04 Notes on this floorplan

What KZ does not publish for the Jag 32JSS

KZ prints no sleeping capacity for this model, so none is given. Nothing is filled from a sibling model, a different model year or a dealer listing.

Read the label on the trailer

Federal rules put a load-carrying label inside every RV trailer: its unloaded weight with full propane, its cargo carrying capacity and its GVWR (49 CFR 571.110 and 571.120). Those figures come from the trailer itself and govern the towing decision.

05 How it compares

Lighter
KZ Jag 29JSS

6,320 lb dry and 10,000 lb GVWR, against this model’s 6,700 lb and 10,000 lb.

Heavier
KZ Jag 33J2S

7,031 lb dry and 10,000 lb GVWR, against this model’s 6,700 lb and 10,000 lb.

06 Loading it for a trip

A full 30-gallon fresh tank is about 249 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 6% of the Jag 32JSS’s 3,940 lb cargo capacity, leaving 3,691 lb. Across 15 Jag travel-trailer floorplans the water share runs 6% to 18%, and this plan’s is the lowest. Nearest on that share: Jag 28JBSS at 6%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).

07 Where this floorplan sits

Closest sibling: the Jag 28JSS, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 3 of the 8 fields both publish (this plan first): length 33 ft 6 in vs 29 ft 3 in; dry weight 6,700 lb vs 6,230 lb; cargo capacity 3,940 lb vs 3,770 lb. They match on GVWR, hitch weight, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

09 What this page publishes, and what it does not

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA holds 3 recall campaigns against the Jag line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).

Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Jag line page.

Earlier model years

The record at the top of this page is the 32JSS from 2007. The maker’s own documents for earlier model years also list the 32JSS, and that year is printed here: 2006. The figures change from year to year, so check the year on the trailer’s own label. A field a year’s brochure does not print reads “Not published” and is never filled from another year.

Source for 2006. Printed in KZ RV’s Jag brochure (www.kz-rv.com). The document itself prints no model year; KZ RV files it under 2006 in its own brochure folder. The brochure’s own figures do not add up: 6,700 lb dry plus 3,940 lb cargo is 10,640 lb, against a printed GVWR of 10,000 lb. Both are printed as published; neither is corrected. Nothing in this record is copied from another model year.

NHTSA record for 2006 Jag

2 recall campaigns filed with NHTSA name the Jag for model year 2006:

No owner complaint filed with NHTSA names the Jag for model year 2006. NHTSA files recalls and complaints by line and model year, not by floorplan, so a campaign listed here may not affect every Jag floorplan; the recall notice says which units it covers.
