Read from Outdoors RV’s Timber Ridge model pages on outdoorsrvmfg.com (no model year stated), 6 Nov 2026. “Not published” means the maker prints no figure; nothing is filled from another model, year or dealer.

03 Reading Outdoors RV’s figures

A maker’s published weight is for a base trailer; options and dealer-installed equipment add weight to any particular unit. The federal weight label inside the trailer carries its own unloaded weight, cargo carrying capacity and GVWR (49 CFR 567 and 571.120): read it on the unit itself before any towing decision.

05 Recalls

NHTSA lists 3 recall campaigns affecting this line. The earliest was reported 8 Aug 2013 and the most recent 6 Nov 2015.

ReportedCampaignComponentWhat can go wrong
6 Nov 201515V737000EquipmentIf the wires or lines get pinched or scraped, the wires may short or the LP lines may leak. Either condition increases the risk of a fire.
17 Oct 201313V509000Latches/locks/linkagesIf the deadbolt jams, the interior side of the door lock may also jam. A person inside the travel trailer at the time will then be locked in and be unable to exit…

Coverage is not complete: this list is a starting point, not a clearance (how it is built), so check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy and again before you tow.

NHTSA files the Timber Ridge as “Outdoors RV Timber Ridge” and with Timber Ridge as the make; both are counted. One 2024 campaign (24V268000) is filed only under Outdoors RV’s Titanium Series name, which spans several lines; it is not counted here.

06 Owner-reported problems

Owners have filed 1 complaint with NHTSA about this line for model years 2005 on. It was filed 7 Apr 2018. The breakdown below is what those owners actually reported, grouped by the component NHTSA assigned.

The 1 owner reports filed on this line, newest first. Wording is NHTSA’s summary of what the owner described.

How this count is drawn. A report is counted here only when NHTSA’s own model field names this line. What the owner typed in the description is never used to attribute a report: our line names are ordinary English words, and an owner writing “imagine my surprise when the axle went” or naming the state of Montana is not reporting a Grand Design Imagine or a Keystone Montana.

Read these as reports, not as findings. Complaints are submitted by owners and NHTSA does not verify them; no complaint here has been confirmed as a defect, and none of them is a recall. The sample is also self-selected — only owners motivated to file appear in it — so a high count tracks how many units a line sold at least as much as how well it was built. Use the pattern, not the total: a component that keeps recurring is worth inspecting on any used unit. File or search complaints at NHTSA.

What reviewers say

Independent reviews of this line, summarised in this site’s own words and linked to the original. Each says whether the reviewer actually towed or inspected the trailer. Reviews are opinions about the year and floorplan they looked at; every figure on this site still comes only from the maker’s own documents.

RV Travel (RVtravel.com) · 2024 22FQS (Mountain Series and Timber Ridge variants) · by Tony Barthel, 2024-04-15

Not a hands-on test: written from the maker’s information and the reviewer’s own research.

Tony Barthel calls Outdoors RV trailers extraordinarily well made and the 2024 22FQS a good example of a winter-ready build, citing its premium suspension, insulated pass-through, 10-gallon water heater, ample counters, 80-gallon fresh tank and 400 W solar. He would rather have a free-standing table than pole mounts, rates travel access okay, and finds the camp-side fresh fill odd.

Liked

  • Extraordinarily well-made construction
  • Premium, unusual suspension
  • Insulated pass-through storage ceiling
  • Ample counter space and 80-gal fresh tank
  • 400 W solar standard

Criticised

  • Pole-mounted dinette table
  • Travel access rated only okay with slide in
  • Fresh-water fill on the camp side, which he finds odd
