01 What makes it unique
The 36DBB is Sabre’s big-family flagship, and the plan that opens the line up the widest. The “DBB” (double-bedroom bunk) layout pairs a private front master with a second guest suite — a queen bed, ample wardrobe space and its own private bathroom with a shower — and an innovative drop-frame chassis that creates a spacious loft for extra guests or storage. It backs that with two full bathrooms, two entry doors, an island kitchen with a butcher-block wood finish and extendable seating, a hidden pantry behind the television, and five slide-outs — the most in the line. It sleeps eight. It rides the full Sabre build: the Lippert M-19 welded I-beam chassis, vacuum-bond laminated sidewalls, a high-gloss gelcoat front cap and an electric auto-level system.
Forest River publishes a 13,243-pound UVW and the biggest CCC in the line at 3,182 pounds, which derive a 16,425-pound GVWR — the highest in the line (the manufacturer’s own definition is that CCC equals GVWR minus UVW), against a 2,425-pound dry pin. Its holding tanks are the biggest in the line — a 114-gallon grey tank and a 76-gallon black tank — for the longest stays off hookups. Twin 15,000-BTU ducted air conditioners (prepped for a third), a tankless water heater, a 12-volt refrigerator, real wood lumbercore cabinetry, solid-surface countertops and smart projectors in the primary bedroom are standard, under dual 10-foot-6-inch and 16-foot awnings.
US street pricing has run around the low $70,000s (units have advertised near $71,800 to $72,100). It is the two-bedroom, big-family Sabre. For a family or multi-generation crowd that wants a private guest suite with its own bath, a drop-frame loft, two full bathrooms, two entry doors and the line’s biggest tanks and payload — towed behind a properly rated three-quarter-ton or larger truck — the 36DBB is the line’s family flagship.

03 The Sabre floorplan family
Sabre is Forest River's affordable-luxury full-size fifth wheel — a half-step above the brand's own up-trim sibling Sandpiper toward the Cedar Creek luxury line, and a cross-shop against Grand Design's Reflection and Keystone's Cougar from just above. Six of the most distinct 2026 retail floorplans are profiled here in full. The 36DBB on this page is highlighted; each other plan links to its own page.
| Floorplan | Nominal | Sleeps | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|
| 32GKS | 35 ft | 4 | Rear living, lightest and shortest, three slides |
| 33RLP | 40 ft | 4 | Sundeck retractable patio deck, rear living |
| 36FLX | 41 ft | 10 | Flex room + loft, outside kitchen, longest awning |
| 37RVMILES | 43 ft | 7 | RV Miles co-brand, rear living + desk, side patio |
| 36DBB | 43 ft | 8 | Two bedrooms + drop-frame loft, two full baths, five slides |
| 38RVHUNTER | 44 ft | 7 | RV Hunter co-brand, bath-and-a-half, heaviest and longest |
Sabre is Forest River's affordable-luxury full-size fifth wheel — a half-step above the brand's own up-trim sibling Sandpiper toward the Cedar Creek luxury line, and a cross-shop against Grand Design's Reflection and Keystone's Cougar from just above. Six of the most distinct 2026 retail floorplans are profiled here in full; the remaining catalogued retail plans (the 36EST rear kitchen and the 37FLH) and two Dealer Stock Only plans (the 36ML and the two-bath 38DBL) are listed on the hub but not profiled. Every plan is built on the Lippert M-19 welded I-beam tandem-axle chassis with a heated forced-air underbelly, vacuum-bond laminated sidewalls and a high-gloss gelcoat front cap, an electric auto-level system, a 50-amp marine power cord, a tankless water heater, twin 15,000-BTU ducted air conditioners (prepped for a third), real wood lumbercore cabinetry, solid-surface countertops and smart projectors in the primary bedrooms as standard. Hitch weight, UVW and CCC are published per plan on the Forest River factory pages; GVWR is derived as UVW plus CCC per the manufacturer's own definition. The numeric per-axle GAWR is not separately published for Sabre. UVW is a factory estimated average; real loaded pin weights run higher — always weigh the loaded coach and confirm against your truck's payload and rear-axle ratings.
04 What owners & reviewers report
Two bedrooms + private guest suite
A private front master plus a second guest suite with a queen bed and its own private bathroom — two real bedrooms, not a bunk room.
Drop-frame loft + two full baths + dual entry
A drop-frame chassis creates a spacious loft, paired with two full bathrooms and two entry doors — a true multi-generation family layout sleeping eight.
Biggest tanks + biggest payload in the line
A 114-gallon grey and a 76-gallon black tank with a 3,182-lb CCC — the largest tanks and biggest payload of any Sabre, for the longest stays off hookups.
Sleeps eight (some listings vary)
Forest River’s factory layout supports eight; some dealers advertise as few as six or as many as ten by counting convertibles and the loft. Confirm the bed configuration before buying.
A 2027 listing shows a smaller chassis
At least one 2027 dealer listing shows a lighter 36DBB on a smaller chassis (a roughly 14,375-lb GVWR placard); these 2026 figures are the current factory specification. Confirm the model year and weight sticker on the specific unit.
05 How it compares
The other big plan — a bath-and-a-half with a side-by-side fridge and W/D prep instead of two full baths and two bedrooms.
Grand Design’s two-bath Reflection — the mainstream-luxury-FW cross-shop a tier across.
Forest River’s luxury bunkhouse fifth wheel — a tier above, heavier and far pricier.
