01 What makes it unique
The 38RVHUNTER is Sabre’s outdoors-themed co-brand, developed with RV Hunter, and the heaviest, longest coach in the line. It pairs a private front bedroom with bunk beds, a bath-and-a-half, an island kitchen with a side-by-side refrigerator and washer/dryer prep, an electric fireplace, a desk with a fold-up bunk and a sleeper sofa, and a rear living area with oversized windows, under four slide-outs, sleeping seven. At 44 feet it is the longest Sabre, and at about 13,838 pounds dry it is the heaviest. It rides the full Sabre build: the Lippert M-19 welded I-beam chassis, vacuum-bond laminated sidewalls, a high-gloss gelcoat front cap and an electric auto-level system.
Forest River publishes a 13,838-pound UVW and a 2,552-pound CCC, which derive a 16,390-pound GVWR (the manufacturer’s own definition is that CCC equals GVWR minus UVW), against a 2,390-pound dry pin. Twin 15,000-BTU ducted air conditioners (prepped for a third), a tankless water heater, a 12-volt refrigerator, real wood lumbercore cabinetry, solid-surface countertops and smart projectors in the primary bedroom are standard. (The awning size for this plan is listed as to-be-determined on the factory page and is not yet confirmed.)
Published MSRP runs to roughly $126,000 with US street pricing far below placard (units have advertised near $73,000 to $74,500). It is the outdoors-co-branded, big-family Sabre. For a family that wants bunk beds, a bath-and-a-half, a side-by-side refrigerator, a desk with a fold-up bunk and a rear living area in the longest, most-equipped coach of the line — towed behind a properly rated three-quarter-ton or larger truck — the 38RVHUNTER is the line’s flagship.

Sabre is Forest River's affordable-luxury full-size fifth wheel — a half-step above the brand's own up-trim sibling Sandpiper toward the Cedar Creek luxury line, and a cross-shop against Grand Design's Reflection and Keystone's Cougar from just above. Six of the most distinct 2026 retail floorplans are profiled here in full; the remaining catalogued retail plans (the 36EST rear kitchen and the 37FLH) and two Dealer Stock Only plans (the 36ML and the two-bath 38DBL) are listed on the hub but not profiled. Every plan is built on the Lippert M-19 welded I-beam tandem-axle chassis with a heated forced-air underbelly, vacuum-bond laminated sidewalls and a high-gloss gelcoat front cap, an electric auto-level system, a 50-amp marine power cord, a tankless water heater, twin 15,000-BTU ducted air conditioners (prepped for a third), real wood lumbercore cabinetry, solid-surface countertops and smart projectors in the primary bedrooms as standard. Hitch weight, UVW and CCC are published per plan on the Forest River factory pages; GVWR is derived as UVW plus CCC per the manufacturer's own definition. The numeric per-axle GAWR is not separately published for Sabre. UVW is a factory estimated average; real loaded pin weights run higher — always weigh the loaded coach and confirm against your truck's payload and rear-axle ratings.
04 What owners & reviewers report
RV Hunter outdoors co-brand
Developed with RV Hunter — a bunk-and-bath-and-a-half family coach aimed at the hunting and outdoors community, the heaviest and longest Sabre.
Bath-and-a-half + side-by-side fridge
A bath-and-a-half with bunk beds and a residential side-by-side refrigerator with washer/dryer prep — a long-stay family galley and laundry.
Desk with fold-up bunk
A desk that converts with a fold-up bunk plus a sleeper sofa — flexible workspace and extra sleeping in the rear living area.
Heaviest and longest in the line
At about 13,838 lb dry and 44 feet it is the heaviest and longest Sabre, with the tightest payload (2,552-lb CCC) — load carefully and match the truck honestly.
Awning size not yet confirmed
Forest River lists the awning size as to-be-determined on the factory page for this plan; it is flagged here pending confirmation.
05 How it compares
The other big plan — two full baths and two bedrooms with five slides instead of a bath-and-a-half bunk layout.
Grand Design’s big mid-kitchen Reflection — the mainstream-luxury-FW cross-shop a tier across.
Forest River’s luxury bunkhouse fifth wheel — a tier above, heavier and far pricier.
