01 What makes it unique

The 380FL inverts the usual fifth-wheel layout. Instead of a rear living room, the lounge moves to the front, up in the raised section over the pin, where a front-cap windshield and five slide-outs open a separate upper living room with double tri-fold hide-a-bed sofas and theater seating. Behind it sit a full central kitchen with an island, a private bedroom and the plan’s signature — a bath-and-a-half, with a dual-sink vanity and a second half bath for guests and full-timers.

Five slides is the most living space in the standard line, and the holding tanks are scaled to match: a 106-gallon black tank serves the second bath, the largest black capacity of the lighter plans. RVUSA lists a published 19,000-pound GVWR against a 14,866-pound dry weight, leaving a 4,134-pound payload and a 3,052-pound dry pin, on the standard Solitude build with a single 30,000-BTU air conditioner, a 20-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and 330-watt roof solar.

At an MSRP of $163,610 it sits among the upper plans in the line. For a couple or a pair of couples who want the biggest, brightest front living space and a second bath — and who tow with a properly rated three-quarter-ton or one-ton truck — the front-living 380FL is the entertainer’s Solitude.

Solitude is Grand Design's flagship extended-stay fifth wheel and one of the best-selling luxury fifth wheels in North America. The full line runs to ten floorplans for 2026; eight are profiled here and two more are catalogued above. Every plan rides on the same drop-frame 101-inch widebody chassis with a MORryde pin box, 8,000-pound axles and a fully enclosed heated underbelly, and ships with a 330-watt roof solar package, a 20-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and an on-demand water heater with whole-house filtration as standard. Body specifications (lengths, heights, payload, tanks, sleeping, slides and awnings) are RVUSA-verified against the 2026 structured spec records, each page fp-slug and title checked; dry weight, GVWR, payload and pin weight are published per plan, and each plan's dry weight plus payload equals its GVWR exactly. Real loaded pin weights run higher — always weigh the loaded coach and confirm against your truck's payload and rear-axle ratings.
