01 What makes it unique
The Wildwood X-Lite 273QBXL leaves Forest River's factory at 5,975 lbs dry with 1,705 lbs of cargo capacity. Forest River publishes no GVWR for this line, so the loaded rating is not quoted on this page and is not computed from the other two figures. What the cargo number covers is defined by the factory: fresh water, gear, food, batteries and every dealer-installed accessory come out of it. Fresh water is 8.3 lb per gallon, so filling the 44-gallon fresh tank spends 365 lbs of the 1,705 lbs before anything else goes in.
Forest River’s 2026 Wildwood / X-Lite brochure draws the 273QBXL with a Versa-Tilt custom king bed with a closet and overhead cabinets at the front. Mid-coach: an entertainment center with a fireplace; a Versa-Lounge in a slide under a panoramic window; a kitchen with a fridge and overhead cabinets; a bath with a walk-in shower; and a pantry. At the rear: a bunk room with a 30-by-74-inch fold-up bunk bed over a Jiffy sofa and a 30-by-74-inch bunk bed. It shows one slide-out and a 16-foot awning. Outside it labels an outside kitchen and full pass-through storage. Layouts change with options; check the unit itself.
Tongue weight is 680 lbs, 11% of the dry weight as published; it rises as the trailer is loaded and counts against the tow vehicle’s tongue-weight and payload limits (tongue weight by size).
Off hookups: 60 gallons of grey and black capacity against 44 gallons of fresh water, so fresh water runs out first (tank sizes by length).
Against the rest of the Wildwood X-Lite roster this is the 5th of 10 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 5,063 lbs to 6,688 lbs. It sits in the middle of the line by weight.
Plan the tow on loaded weight, not the 5,975 lbs dry figure: half the published cargo capacity brings this plan to about 6,827 lbs. Forest River publishes no loaded rating for this line, so the ceiling is the one on the trailer’s own weight label (how to read trailer weights).
Forest River’s line listing and this floorplan’s own factory page agree on all 4 shared figures. No GVWR is published for this line, so dry plus cargo has no rating to check against. A missing row means Forest River does not publish that figure (how figures are verified).
Forest River's own description of this floorplan reads: “The 273QBXL is a versatile, lightweight bunkhouse that weighs in at less than 6,000 lbs. This travel trailer is packed with features, including bunks, an outside kitchen, U-dinette, Versa-Lounge, and walk-in shower. The kitchen includes an oversized 11 CU. FT. refrigerator, stovetop, oven, and pantry.” That is the factory's marketing copy rather than a specification, and nothing in it is treated as a verified field on this page - layout descriptions, sleeping arrangements and feature claims in factory copy are not carried into the spec table unless the factory also publishes them as specifications.
How the 273QBXL differs from the other nine Wildwood X-Lite floorplans. Most distinctive first. Sibling pages may cover other model years than this one (2026). How these ranks are worked out.
- Length, 33 ft 3 in: second-longest of ten, between the 26ICE (32 ft 9 in) and the 28VBXL (33 ft 7 in).
- Dry weight, 5,975 lb: fifth-lightest of ten, between the 263BHXL (5,854 lb) and the 25ICE (6,178 lb).
- Cargo capacity, 1,705 lb: fifth-largest of ten, between the 28VBXL (1,582 lb) and the 263BHXL (1,828 lb).
- Tongue weight, 680 lb: fifth-lightest of ten, between the 28ICE (675 lb) and the 263BHXL (682 lb).
- Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 11.4%: fifth-largest of ten, between the 25ICE (11.3%) and the 263BHXL (11.7%).
- Grey tank, 30 gal: shared with the 24RLXL and 28ICE; of ten, one smaller and six larger, nearest the 28VBXL (28 gal) and the 23ZEN (40 gal).

The 2027 model year, as Forest River lists it
Forest River’s own floorplan page lists the 2027 Wildwood X-Lite 273QBXL with the figures below (read 22 Oct 2026). They are that year’s record. The specifications above are the 2026 record; the two are not merged, and neither fills a gap in the other. Every weight, dimension and tank figure in it matches the 2026 record above. Forest River publishes no GVWR for this floorplan, so none is shown and none is computed.

03 The Wildwood X-Lite floorplan family
Wildwood X-Lite is the value-tier travel trailer in the Wildwood family, seventeen published floorplans from 3,836 to 8,143 lb dry on lengths of 22 feet 8 inches to 34 feet 7 inches. Tongue weight runs 520 to 965 lb across the whole roster, which is light for the length. Eight of the seventeen plans are dealer-stock-only, including a separate West Coast dealer-stock grouping the factory lists on its own. Forest River publishes no GVWR for any X-Lite floorplan.

Wildwood X-Lite is Forest River's lightweight Wildwood travel trailer, seventeen floorplans published, eight of them dealer-stock-only - one grouping of which the factory labels West Coast. Forest River publishes dry weight, cargo capacity, tongue weight, all three exterior dimensions, all three tank capacities and awning size for every plan, and no GVWR for any of them. Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are not published in this channel.
04 Notes on this floorplan
What Forest River does not publish for this line
Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are not in Forest River’s specification channel for Wildwood X-Lite, so this page does not publish them and does not estimate them (how figures are verified).
There is no factory GVWR for this trailer
Forest River publishes dry weight, cargo capacity and tongue weight for every Wildwood X-Lite floorplan and publishes no GVWR for any of them. The factory's own glossary defines cargo capacity as GVWR minus UVW, which means the rating can be worked out - and a figure you worked out is not a figure the manufacturer published, so this page does not print one. Use the weight label on the trailer itself, which every Forest River unit carries.
Weigh it before you tow it
Forest River calls its unloaded weight an estimated average for a standard build, and options and dealer add-ons change it, so weigh your own trailer loaded the way you travel (how figures are verified).
05 How it compares
5,854 lbs dry against this plan's 5,975 lbs, a difference of 121 lbs.
6,178 lbs dry, 203 lbs more than this plan, and 1,522 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 1,705 lbs.
2,487 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 10 Wildwood X-Lite floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 44-gallon fresh tank is about 365 lb of water, 21% of the 273QBXL’s 1,705 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,340 lb. Across 10 Wildwood X-Lite floorplans the water share runs 15% to 37%, and 5 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Wildwood X-Lite 263BHXL at 20% and Wildwood X-Lite 26ICE at 22%.
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the Wildwood X-Lite 28VBXL, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 6 of the 7 fields both publish (this plan first): length 33 ft 3 in vs 33 ft 7 in; dry weight 5,975 lb vs 6,208 lb; cargo capacity 1,705 lb vs 1,582 lb; hitch weight 680 lb vs 790 lb; grey tank 30 gal vs 28 gal; black tank 30 gal vs 28 gal. They match on fresh tank.
