The 22SW is the small end of the Alpha Wolf line and the one that makes the least compromise for its size. Forest River describes the floorplan as one entry and one slide out with a fiberglass exterior, a front bedroom and a rear bathroom, and its own copy calls it a lightweight 27-foot trailer packed with big amenities: theatre seats directly across from a fireplace and entertainment center, a removable table that connects to the sofa for meals, and a kitchen with a walk-in pantry, a 12-volt refrigerator, a farm-style sink, an oven and a microwave. A walk-in pantry in a 27-foot coach is the unusual part — most trailers this size give you a cabinet.

The weight story is what separates it from the rest of the line. At 5,513 pounds dry it is the lightest Alpha Wolf built, and Forest River publishes a 7,735-pound GVWR against it — leaving 2,222 pounds of cargo capacity, which is more headroom than the 25RB and 26DBH get on heavier chassis. The dry tongue is 735 pounds. That combination is what makes it genuinely half-ton territory rather than half-ton on paper.

It carries the full Alpha Wolf build: laminated fiberglass sidewalls over block-foam insulation on a drop-frame chassis, an engineered-wood Super Truss roof under a PVC membrane with a lifetime warranty, an armored underbelly with forced-air heat and 12-volt pads on all holding tanks, an on-demand tankless water heater, four power stabilizer jacks, and the Juice Pack solar package with a 100-watt panel, battery, disconnect, voltmeter and 30-amp charger. The fresh tank is the line-standard 81 gallons — unusually large for the length — with 70 grey and 35 black, and a 15-foot awning.

Alpha Wolf is the laminated-fiberglass tier of Forest River's Cherokee travel-trailer family — a construction step above the metal-sided Grey Wolf and Wolf Den on the same drop-frame half-ton bumper-pull architecture, and a cross-shop against Forest River's own Salem / Wildwood, Jayco's Jay Flight, Keystone's Passport and Coachmen's Catalina.
