01 What makes it unique
Forest River’s own floorplan sentence for the 29DCB reads: “The Alpha Wolf 29DCB floorplan has two entries and one slide out. Exterior features include: fiberglass exterior, 20' awning and outside kitchen. Interiors features include: bunk beds and front bedroom.” It is the only layout description the factory publishes for this plan, and nothing beyond it is described here: sleeping capacity, axle count and tire size are not published for the Alpha Wolf line in any factory channel.
The weights are why this page reads differently from its siblings. Forest River publishes a dry weight of 7,818 pounds and a cargo capacity of 2,317 pounds for the 29DCB, and its own glossary defines cargo capacity as exactly GVWR minus dry weight — but those two figures land 140 pounds above the loaded rating printed on the same page. One of the three printed figures is wrong and nothing published says which, so the printed GVWR is not given on this page as a rating; the note below sets out all three numbers, and the label on the trailer itself governs. The dry tongue weight is 1,165 pounds.
At 37' 5" long and 11' 0" tall, with a 96" body, the 29DCB carries the line-standard 81-gallon fresh tank with 70 gallons grey and 35 black, and a 20' awning. Filled, the fresh tank alone is about 672 pounds of the 2,317-pound cargo capacity. The build is the Alpha Wolf standard Forest River lists for the whole line: laminated fiberglass sidewalls over block-foam insulation on a drop-frame chassis, an engineered-wood Super Truss roof under a PVC membrane, an armored underbelly with forced-air heat and 12-volt pads on all holding tanks, an on-demand tankless water heater, four power stabilizer jacks and the Juice Pack solar package.
How the 29DCB differs from the other six Alpha Wolf floorplans. Most distinctive first. Each rank counts only the siblings that publish that field, and a figure most of them share is left out.
- Length, 37 ft 5 in: second-longest of seven, between the 33BH (37 ft 2 in) and the 33RL (39 ft 3 in).
- Dry weight, 7,818 lb: third-heaviest of seven, between the 26RL (7,258 lb) and the 33BH (8,063 lb).
- Cargo capacity, 2,317 lb: fourth-smallest of seven, between the 22SW (2,222 lb) and the 26RL (2,492 lb).
Next to the 26RL, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 29DCB is 560 lb heavier by dry weight, has 175 lb less cargo capacity, is 2 ft 11 in longer, stands 2 in lower and has one fewer slide-out; the two publish the same fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.
Next to the 33BH, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 29DCB is 245 lb lighter by dry weight, has 285 lb less cargo capacity, is 3 in longer, stands 2 in lower, has a black tank 35 gal smaller and has two fewer slide-outs; the two publish the same fresh tank and grey tank.

03 The Alpha Wolf floorplan family
Alpha Wolf is the laminated-fiberglass tier of Forest River's Cherokee travel-trailer family — a construction step above the metal-sided Grey Wolf and Wolf Den on the same drop-frame bumper-pull architecture, and a cross-shop against Forest River's own Salem / Wildwood, Jayco's Jay Flight, Keystone's Passport and Coachmen's Catalina. Eleven floorplans are published for 2026.

Alpha Wolf is the laminated-fiberglass tier of Forest River's Cherokee travel-trailer family — a construction step above the metal-sided Grey Wolf and Wolf Den on the same drop-frame, bumper-pull architecture. Eleven floorplans are published for 2026. Six are profiled in depth here and the 29DCB has its own page with its published-figure conflict shown; the other four are catalogued from published specifications only. Forest River publishes no sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size or MSRP for this line in any of its three spec channels, so those rows are absent rather than estimated.
04 Notes on this floorplan
The published set does not add up
Forest River publishes a dry weight of 7,818 lb, a cargo capacity of 2,317 lb and a GVWR of 9,995 lb for the 29DCB. Dry plus cargo comes to 10,135 lb, 140 lb above the printed GVWR. Forest River defines cargo capacity as exactly GVWR minus dry weight, so one of the three printed figures must be wrong, and nothing published says which. The set is shown as published and flagged. Because the gap is more than 100 lb, the printed GVWR is not given here as a usable rating: the GVWR rows on this page read “Disputed” and no tow check is offered for it. The GVWR on the trailer’s own weight label and VIN placard, and its axle ratings, govern. Weigh the unit.
81 gallons of fresh water is heavy
Filled, the fresh tank is roughly 672 pounds against a 2,317-pound cargo capacity. Tow with it empty unless you are boondocking.
Sleeping capacity is not published
Forest River publishes no sleep count for the Alpha Wolf line in its line listing, its per-plan pages or its 2026 brochure. This page does not estimate one.
05 How it compares
560 pounds lighter dry, with published weights that tie out exactly.
245 pounds heavier dry, with published weights that tie out exactly.

06 Loading it for a trip
A full 81-gallon fresh tank is about 676 lb of water, 29% of the 29DCB’s 2,317 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,641 lb. Across 7 Alpha Wolf floorplans the water share runs 26% to 51%, and 3 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Alpha Wolf 26RL at 27% and Alpha Wolf 22SW at 30%.
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the Alpha Wolf 33RL, nearest on the published figures. 09 What this page publishes, and what it does not
13 of the 18 fields this catalogue tracks are published for the 29DCB. Not published: interior height, sleeps, axle count, tire specification. Printed but disputed, so not given as a rating: GVWR — Forest River’s own figures for it do not reconcile (the GVWR note above sets them out).

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 2 recall campaigns against the Cherokee Alpha Wolf line. They are counted separately: a recall is a confirmed defect with a remedy, a complaint one owner’s unverified account.
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Cherokee Alpha Wolf line page.
