01 What makes it unique

The IBEX 19BRK has 1,500 lbs of cargo capacity between 4,878 lbs dry and its 6,378 lbs GVWR, 24% of that rating; filling its 30-gallon fresh tank at 8.3 lb a gallon uses 249 lbs of it (how to read trailer weights).

Tongue weight is 610 lbs, 13% of the dry weight as published; it rises as the trailer is loaded and counts against the tow vehicle’s tongue-weight and payload limits (tongue weight by size).

Off hookups: 60 gallons of grey and black capacity against 30 gallons of fresh water, so fresh water runs out first (tank sizes by length).

Against the rest of the IBEX roster this is the 8th of 16 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 3,778 lbs to 6,733 lbs. It sits in the middle of the line by weight.

Plan the tow on loaded weight, not the 4,878 lbs dry figure: half the published cargo capacity brings this plan to about 5,628 lbs, and the published GVWR of 6,378 lbs is the limit (how to read trailer weights).

Forest River’s line listing and this floorplan’s own factory page agree on all 4 shared figures. Dry weight plus cargo capacity equals the published GVWR exactly. A missing row means Forest River does not publish that figure (how figures are verified).

Forest River's own description of this floorplan reads: “The 19BRK is a feature-packed travel trailer made for those who want both comfort and adventure. Its spacious rear kitchen offers ample counter space and storage, while a walk-through bath connects to a private front bedroom with a queen bed and generous wardrobes. Outside, the TrailGate Outdoor Bar—with beverage fridge and prep area—elevates campsite entertaining. With a slide-out for added space and a lightweight,…” That is the factory's marketing copy rather than a specification, and nothing in it is treated as a verified field on this page - layout descriptions, sleeping arrangements and feature claims in factory copy are not carried into the spec table unless the factory also publishes them as specifications.

Loaded tongue weight, rule of thumb638–957 lb
Receiver hitch rating needed6,378 lb towed / 957 lb tongue
Payload check. Budget loaded, not dry: subtract the loaded range, every passenger, the bed and cab load and a weight-distributing hitch from the payload on your tow vehicle’s door-pillar placard (49 CFR 571.110 S4.3).

Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.

Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (6,378 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (957 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.

Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

The 2027 model year, as Forest River lists it

Forest River’s own floorplan page lists the 2027 IBEX 19BRK with the figures below (read 22 Oct 2026). They are that year’s record. The specifications above are the 2026 record; the two are not merged, and neither fills a gap in the other. Every weight, dimension and tank figure in it matches the 2026 record above. Unloaded weight plus cargo capacity equals the 2027 GVWR exactly. Forest River’s 2027 page lists two versions of the 19BRK: the default version, whose figures are in the table, and a Beast Mode option package, listed on its own line under the table with its own figures.

03 The IBEX floorplan family

IBEX is Forest River's lightweight four-season travel trailer, built at the company's Outdoors RV-adjacent end of the travel-trailer range rather than in the value tier. The roster runs from a 16-foot single-axle at under 4,100 lb dry to a tandem-axle 26-footer. Forest River publishes a full weight and capacity block for every floorplan, which is why this line could be catalogued completely rather than partially.

IBEX is Forest River's lightweight travel-trailer line. Twenty-two floorplans are published for 2027, including four dealer-stock-only plans that are catalogued here but are not orderable through the normal channel. Forest River publishes dry weight, GVWR, cargo capacity, tongue weight, all three exterior dimensions and all three tank capacities for the roster. It publishes no sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size or MSRP in this channel, so those rows are absent rather than estimated.

04 Notes on this floorplan

What Forest River does not publish for this line

Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are not in Forest River’s specification channel for IBEX, so this page does not publish them and does not estimate them (how figures are verified).

Weigh it before you tow it

Forest River calls its unloaded weight an estimated average for a standard build, and options and dealer add-ons change it, so weigh your own trailer loaded the way you travel (how figures are verified).

05 How it compares

Lighter
IBEX 19MSB

4,809 lbs dry against this plan's 4,878 lbs, a difference of 69 lbs.

Heavier
IBEX 20MKB

4,913 lbs dry, 35 lbs more than this plan, and 1,500 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 1,500 lbs.

Most cargo in the line
IBEX 16MRJ

1,802 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 16 IBEX floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.

06 Loading it for a trip

A full 30-gallon fresh tank is about 249 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 17% of the 19BRK’s 1,500 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,251 lb. Across 16 IBEX floorplans the water share runs 14% to 36%, and 12 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: IBEX 16MKD at 17% and IBEX 16MBJ at 17%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).

07 Where this floorplan sits

Closest sibling: the IBEX 19MBH, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 4 of the 8 fields both publish (this plan first): length 25 ft 0 in vs 24 ft 8 in; dry weight 4,878 lb vs 4,484 lb; GVWR 6,378 lb vs 5,984 lb; hitch weight 610 lb vs 585 lb. They match on cargo capacity, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA holds 8 recall campaigns and 3 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the IBEX line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).

Too few reports to show a pattern. 3 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover unknown or other.

Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the IBEX line page.
