01 What makes it unique

The IBEX 19MBH has 1,500 lbs of cargo capacity between 4,484 lbs dry and its 5,984 lbs GVWR, 25% of that rating; filling its 30-gallon fresh tank at 8.3 lb a gallon uses 249 lbs of it (how to read trailer weights).

Tongue weight is 585 lbs, 13% of the dry weight as published; it rises as the trailer is loaded and counts against the tow vehicle’s tongue-weight and payload limits (tongue weight by size).

Off hookups: 60 gallons of grey and black capacity against 30 gallons of fresh water, so fresh water runs out first (tank sizes by length).

Against the rest of the IBEX roster this is the 6th of 16 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 3,778 lbs to 6,733 lbs. It sits in the middle of the line by weight.

Plan the tow on loaded weight, not the 4,484 lbs dry figure: half the published cargo capacity brings this plan to about 5,234 lbs, and the published GVWR of 5,984 lbs is the limit (how to read trailer weights).

Forest River’s line listing and this floorplan’s own factory page agree on all 4 shared figures. Dry weight plus cargo capacity equals the published GVWR exactly. A missing row means Forest River does not publish that figure (how figures are verified).

Forest River's own description of this floorplan reads: “With sleeping for up to 5, the 19MBH is equipped to take the whole family. This simple-to-use, no-slide model is equipped with a full residential queen bed up front, and full size 44”x74” bunks in the back. The bottom bunk also folds up, and from the outside compartment door, larger items can be stored and accessed easily. After waking up, the murphy queen bed up front folds up easily to expose a couch, which…” That is the factory's marketing copy rather than a specification, and nothing in it is treated as a verified field on this page - layout descriptions, sleeping arrangements and feature claims in factory copy are not carried into the spec table unless the factory also publishes them as specifications.

Published tongue weight585 lb
Loaded tongue weight, rule of thumb598–898 lb
Receiver hitch rating needed5,984 lb towed / 898 lb tongue
Payload check. Budget loaded, not dry: subtract the loaded range, every passenger, the bed and cab load and a weight-distributing hitch from the payload on your tow vehicle’s door-pillar placard (49 CFR 571.110 S4.3).

Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.

Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (5,984 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (898 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.

Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

The 2027 model year, as Forest River lists it

Forest River’s own floorplan page lists the 2027 IBEX 19MBH with the figures below (read 22 Oct 2026). They are that year’s record. The specifications above are the 2026 record; the two are not merged, and neither fills a gap in the other. Against the 2026 record above, these figures differ: unloaded vehicle weight 4,484 lb in 2026, 4,503 lb in 2027; GVWR 5,984 lb in 2026, 6,003 lb in 2027. Unloaded weight plus cargo capacity equals the 2027 GVWR exactly. Forest River’s 2027 page lists two versions of the 19MBH: the default version, whose figures are in the table, and a Beast Mode option package, listed on its own line under the table with its own figures.

03 The IBEX floorplan family

IBEX is Forest River's lightweight four-season travel trailer, built at the company's Outdoors RV-adjacent end of the travel-trailer range rather than in the value tier. The roster runs from a 16-foot single-axle at under 4,100 lb dry to a tandem-axle 26-footer. Forest River publishes a full weight and capacity block for every floorplan, which is why this line could be catalogued completely rather than partially.

IBEX is Forest River's lightweight travel-trailer line. Twenty-two floorplans are published for 2027, including four dealer-stock-only plans that are catalogued here but are not orderable through the normal channel. Forest River publishes dry weight, GVWR, cargo capacity, tongue weight, all three exterior dimensions and all three tank capacities for the roster. It publishes no sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size or MSRP in this channel, so those rows are absent rather than estimated.

04 Notes on this floorplan

What Forest River does not publish for this line

Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are not in Forest River’s specification channel for IBEX, so this page does not publish them and does not estimate them (how figures are verified).

Weigh it before you tow it

Forest River calls its unloaded weight an estimated average for a standard build, and options and dealer add-ons change it, so weigh your own trailer loaded the way you travel (how figures are verified).

05 How it compares

Lighter
IBEX 19QRB

4,168 lbs dry against this plan's 4,484 lbs, a difference of 316 lbs.

Heavier
IBEX 19MSB

4,809 lbs dry, 325 lbs more than this plan, and 1,275 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 1,500 lbs.

Most cargo in the line
IBEX 16MRJ

1,802 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 16 IBEX floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.

06 Loading it for a trip

A full 30-gallon fresh tank is about 249 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 17% of the 19MBH’s 1,500 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,251 lb. Across 16 IBEX floorplans the water share runs 14% to 36%, and 12 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: IBEX 16MKD at 17% and IBEX 16MBJ at 17%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).

07 Where this floorplan sits

Closest sibling: the IBEX 19BRK, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 4 of the 8 fields both publish (this plan first): length 24 ft 8 in vs 25 ft 0 in; dry weight 4,484 lb vs 4,878 lb; GVWR 5,984 lb vs 6,378 lb; hitch weight 585 lb vs 610 lb. They match on cargo capacity, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA holds 8 recall campaigns and 3 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the IBEX line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).

Too few reports to show a pattern. 3 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover unknown or other.

Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the IBEX line page.
