01 What makes it unique
The IBEX 25MLB has 1,500 lbs of cargo capacity between 6,473 lbs dry and its 7,973 lbs GVWR, 19% of that rating; filling its 40-gallon fresh tank at 8.3 lb a gallon uses 332 lbs of it (how to read trailer weights).
Tongue weight is 645 lbs, 10% of the dry weight as published; it rises as the trailer is loaded and counts against the tow vehicle’s tongue-weight and payload limits (tongue weight by size).
Off hookups: 90 gallons of grey and black capacity against 40 gallons of fresh water, so fresh water runs out first (tank sizes by length).
Against the rest of the IBEX roster this is the 15th of 16 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 3,778 lbs to 6,733 lbs. It sits in the heavier third of the line.
Plan the tow on loaded weight, not the 6,473 lbs dry figure: half the published cargo capacity brings this plan to about 7,223 lbs, and the published GVWR of 7,973 lbs is the limit (how to read trailer weights).
Forest River’s line listing and this floorplan’s own factory page agree on all 4 shared figures. Dry weight plus cargo capacity equals the published GVWR exactly. A missing row means Forest River does not publish that figure (how figures are verified).
Forest River publishes no floorplan description for this plan in the channel this page is built from - only the numeric specification block. Rather than describe a layout from the floorplan code, which would be a guess dressed as a fact, this page carries what the factory publishes and says where it stops. 25MLB is a IBEX designation and this site does not decode it into a layout claim.
How the 25MLB differs from the other fifteen IBEX floorplans. Most distinctive first. How these ranks are worked out.
- Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 10%: smallest of sixteen; next is the 20MKB (11.2%).
- Dry weight, 6,473 lb: second-heaviest of sixteen, between the 25RBH (6,338 lb) and the 26BRE (6,733 lb).
- GVWR, 7,973 lb: second-highest of sixteen, between the 25RBH (7,838 lb) and the 26BRE (8,233 lb).
- Length, 29 ft 9 in: third-longest of sixteen, between the 25RLSS (29 ft) and the 26BRE (32 ft 6 in).
- Cargo capacity as a share of GVWR, 18.8%: fourth-smallest of sixteen, between the 16MKS (18.5%) and the 25RBH (19.1%).
- Grey tank, 60 gal: largest of sixteen, level with the 20FKDS and 26BRE; next are the 16MKS, 20MDS and three others (40 gal).
- Tongue weight, 645 lb: seventh-heaviest of sixteen, between the 20MDS (630 lb) and the 19MSB (710 lb).
Next to the 25RBH, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 25MLB is 135 lb heavier by dry weight, has a GVWR 135 lb higher, has a tongue weight 385 lb lighter, is 3 ft 2 in shorter and has a grey tank 30 gal larger; the two publish the same cargo capacity, exterior height, fresh tank and black tank.
Next to the 26BRE, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 25MLB is 260 lb lighter by dry weight, has a GVWR 260 lb lower, has a tongue weight 115 lb lighter and is 2 ft 9 in shorter; the two publish the same cargo capacity, exterior height, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (7,973 lb) and the upper loaded tongue estimate (1,196 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 10–15% of GVWR on the tongue, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).
The 2027 model year, as Forest River lists it
Forest River’s own floorplan page lists the 2027 IBEX 25MLB with the figures below (read 22 Oct 2026). They are that year’s record. The specifications above are the 2026 record; the two are not merged, and neither fills a gap in the other. Against the 2026 record above, these figures differ: black water 30 gal in 2026, 43 gal in 2027. Unloaded weight plus cargo capacity equals the 2027 GVWR exactly. Forest River’s 2027 page lists two versions of the 25MLB: the default version, whose figures are in the table, and a Beast Mode option package, listed on its own line under the table with its own figures.

03 The IBEX floorplan family
IBEX is Forest River's lightweight four-season travel trailer, built at the company's Outdoors RV-adjacent end of the travel-trailer range rather than in the value tier. The roster runs from a 16-foot single-axle at under 4,100 lb dry to a tandem-axle 26-footer. Forest River publishes a full weight and capacity block for every floorplan, which is why this line could be catalogued completely rather than partially.

IBEX is Forest River's lightweight travel-trailer line. Twenty-two floorplans are published for 2027, including four dealer-stock-only plans that are catalogued here but are not orderable through the normal channel. Forest River publishes dry weight, GVWR, cargo capacity, tongue weight, all three exterior dimensions and all three tank capacities for the roster. It publishes no sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size or MSRP in this channel, so those rows are absent rather than estimated.
04 Notes on this floorplan
What Forest River does not publish for this line
Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are not in Forest River’s specification channel for IBEX, so this page does not publish them and does not estimate them (how figures are verified).
Awning size is not published for this floorplan
Forest River publishes an awning size for some IBEX floorplans and not for this one. The row reads as unpublished rather than being filled from a neighbouring plan in the same roster.
Weigh it before you tow it
Forest River calls its unloaded weight an estimated average for a standard build, and options and dealer add-ons change it, so weigh your own trailer loaded the way you travel (how figures are verified).
05 How it compares
6,338 lbs dry against this plan's 6,473 lbs, a difference of 135 lbs.
6,733 lbs dry, 260 lbs more than this plan, and 1,500 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 1,500 lbs.
1,802 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 16 IBEX floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 40-gallon fresh tank is about 332 lb of water (water counts as cargo: 49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.2), 22% of the 25MLB’s 1,500 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,168 lb. Across 16 IBEX floorplans the water share runs 14% to 36%, and 3 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: IBEX 20FKDS at 22% and IBEX 23MBH at 22%. Your own unit’s figure is on the label inside its entry door (49 CFR 571.110 S9.3.3).
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the IBEX 26BRE, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 4 of the 8 fields both publish (this plan first): length 29 ft 9 in vs 32 ft 6 in; dry weight 6,473 lb vs 6,733 lb; GVWR 7,973 lb vs 8,233 lb; hitch weight 645 lb vs 760 lb. They match on cargo capacity, fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 8 recall campaigns and 3 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the IBEX line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).
Too few reports to show a pattern. 3 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover unknown or other.
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the IBEX line page.
