01 What makes it unique

The Jay Feather 27BH is the family bunkhouse, done with Jay Feather finish. A private front queen gives the parents a real bedroom, rear bunks handle the kids, and dual entry doors keep traffic moving — a layout that sleeps up to ten in a 32-foot trailer. It is the most popular shape in the segment, here with laminated walls, an 11 cubic-foot fridge and residential touches the value bunkhouses don’t carry.

The platform is full Jay Feather — Norco® Z-frame, Stronghold VBL™ laminated walls, Magnum Truss™ roof — scaled to family duty with an 8,200-pound GVWR on a 6,660-pound dry weight, leaving 1,540 pounds of payload. The tanks grow to match: a 76-gallon gray and 38-gallon black support a full house for a week, and the 55-gallon fresh carries over.

It sleeps ten and tows with a properly equipped half-ton-plus, at an MSRP near $50,000 — a step above the value bunkhouses in both finish and price. For families who want the standard bunkhouse layout but in Jayco’s mid trailer rather than its cheapest, the 27BH is the obvious centre of the line.

03 Jay Feather floorplan family

Jay Feather is Jayco's lightweight step-up travel trailer — a notch above the value Jay Flight SLX, built on an American-made Norco® Z-frame with vacuum-bonded laminated walls, an 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and residential touches. The 2026 line runs nineteen floorplans from compact Murphy-bed couples' trailers up to 36-foot family bunkhouses. The 27BH on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page, and the rest of the line is catalogued on the hub.

Most Jay Feather floorplans carry a single slide and an optional king bed in place of the standard 60×80 queen; several add an outdoor camp kitchen. Jay Feather replaced the discontinued White Hawk in Jayco's range for 2025, absorbing its more-featured positioning. Additional floorplans (front-kitchen, rear-living, and bunk layouts) are documented on the line hub. Always confirm equipment and weights against the unit's own weight sticker.

04 What owners & reviewers report

The volume family layout

Front queen plus rear bunks sleeping ten is the segment’s best-selling shape — the 27BH delivers it with step-up finish.

Dual entry for families

Two doors keep the bunk room and main living area independently accessible — a real convenience with kids.

Family-week tank capacity

76-gallon gray and 38-gallon black, plus 1,540 lb payload, carry a full family’s water and gear for a week.

Wants a capable half-ton

At 6,660 lb dry and 8,200-lb GVWR it needs a properly equipped half-ton-plus and a full-size site.
