01 What makes it unique

The Jay Feather 27MK is the line’s island-kitchen coach. A full rear galley anchored by a freestanding kitchen island runs the back of the trailer — far more prep and gathering space than a side or wall kitchen offers — while twin slides open both the kitchen and the living area. A private front bedroom keeps the sleeping space separate, and two power awnings stretch the living space outdoors. At 33 feet it is built for couples and small families who treat the kitchen as the centre of camp life.

Underneath is the full Jay Feather platform — an American-made Norco® Z-frame with integrated A-frame, a vacuum-bonded Stronghold VBL™ laminated floor, the Magnum Truss™ roof and an aluminum-framed rounded front. An 8,850-pound GVWR on a 7,305-pound dry weight leaves 1,540 pounds of payload, and the equipment is full Jay Feather: an 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator, a 55-gallon fresh tank with a 61-gallon gray to feed the big kitchen, and the residential finish that lifts the line above the value tier.

It sleeps six but is really an island-kitchen entertainer for two-to-four, near an MSRP of $52,000 before the heavy dealer discounting these trailers usually see. For buyers who want a genuine island kitchen and the outdoor living that two awnings and twin slides allow, the 27MK is the kitchen-first plan of the Jay Feather range.

03 Jay Feather floorplan family

Jay Feather is Jayco's lightweight step-up travel trailer — a notch above the value Jay Flight SLX, built on an American-made Norco® Z-frame with vacuum-bonded laminated walls, an 11 cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator and residential touches. The 2026 line runs nineteen floorplans from compact Murphy-bed couples' trailers up to 36-foot family bunkhouses. The 27MK on this page is highlighted; each other profiled plan links to its own page, and the rest of the line is catalogued on the hub.

Most Jay Feather floorplans carry a single slide and an optional king bed in place of the standard 60×80 queen; several add an outdoor camp kitchen. Jay Feather replaced the discontinued White Hawk in Jayco's range for 2025, absorbing its more-featured positioning. Additional floorplans (front-kitchen, rear-living, and bunk layouts) are documented on the line hub. Always confirm equipment and weights against the unit's own weight sticker.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Rear island kitchen

A freestanding island anchors a full back-wall galley — the most prep and gathering space in the line, and the 27MK’s reason for being.

Twin slides plus two awnings

Two slide-outs open the kitchen and living area while a pair of power awnings extends the space outdoors — a true indoor-outdoor entertainer.

Step-up Jay Feather build

Norco® Z-frame, laminated walls, an 11 cu ft 12V fridge and residential cabinetry lift it well above the value rear-kitchen trailers.

Built to cook, not to bunk

Sleeping six is nominal — the island-kitchen layout prioritizes cooking and living space over berth count; large families should look at the bunk plans.
