01 What makes it unique

The Salem Cruise Lite 240BHXL is the value twins' lighter double-bunk family trailer — real bunkhouse capacity that still weighs under 5,400 pounds dry. The rear corner holds a 46-by-74-inch double-over-double bunk for the kids, the front is a private bedroom with a custom king bed and Versa-Tilt, and a U-shaped dinette in the slide converts for one or two more sleepers, so nominal capacity reaches seven. Dual entry doors — one of them into the rear corner bathroom — ease the flow for a family, and the bathroom steps up to a walk-in shower with a skylight. Its twin is the Wildwood X-Lite 240BHXL, the same trailer in different décor.

It carries the full Cruise Lite value-laminate build — a powder-coated I-beam steel frame, two-inch laminated sidewalls, a walk-on Tufflex™ PVC roof and an enclosed Accessibelly underbelly — with a published oversized 11-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator, a 60,000-BTU tankless water heater, a 13,500-BTU air conditioner and a 16-foot power awning standard, plus an exterior camp kitchen for cooking out of doors. The Platinum package adds a fiberglass exterior and a 200-watt solar panel. A walk-in pantry and panoramic dinette windows round out the main room.

At 5,343 pounds dry against a 7,570-pound GVWR it leaves roughly 2,227 pounds of cargo capacity — healthy for a family that travels with gear — and it tows comfortably behind a wide range of half-ton trucks. For a family that wants real double-over-double bunks, a king bedroom and an outside kitchen in one of the lightest, most affordable bunkhouses the value twins offer — with the identical Wildwood to shop against — the 240BHXL is a standout small-family value.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Double-over-double bunks under 5,400 lb

Dual entry and an outside kitchen

Two doors ease the family flow — one straight into the rear bathroom — and the exterior camp kitchen keeps cooking and mess outdoors.

Published 11 cu ft fridge
