01 What makes it unique
The Alta 3010KBH leaves East to West's factory at 7,823 lbs dry with 1,977 lbs of cargo capacity. East to West publishes no GVWR for this line, so the loaded rating is not quoted on this page and is not computed from the other two figures. What the cargo number covers is defined by the factory: fresh water, gear, food, batteries and every dealer-installed accessory come out of it. Fresh water is 8.3 lb per gallon, so filling the 53-gallon fresh tank spends 440 lbs of the 1,977 lbs before anything else goes in.
Tongue weight is 1,070 lbs, 14% of the dry weight as published; it rises as the trailer is loaded and counts against the tow vehicle’s tongue-weight and payload limits (tongue weight by size).
Off hookups: 90 gallons of grey and black capacity against 53 gallons of fresh water, so fresh water runs out first (tank sizes by length).
Against the rest of the Alta roster this is the 13th of 17 floorplans by dry weight, in a line that runs from 3,998 lbs to 10,334 lbs. It sits in the heavier third of the line.
Plan the tow on loaded weight, not the 7,823 lbs dry figure: half the published cargo capacity brings this plan to about 8,811 lbs. East to West publishes no loaded rating for this line, so the ceiling is the one on the trailer’s own weight label (how to read trailer weights).
East to West’s line listing and this floorplan’s own factory page agree on all 4 shared figures. No GVWR is published for this line, so dry plus cargo has no rating to check against. A missing row means East to West does not publish that figure (how figures are verified).
East to West publishes no floorplan description for this plan in the channel this page is built from - only the numeric specification block. Rather than describe a layout from the floorplan code, which would be a guess dressed as a fact, this page carries what the factory publishes and says where it stops. 3010KBH is a Alta designation and this site does not decode it into a layout claim.
How the 3010KBH differs from the other sixteen Alta floorplans. Most distinctive first. Sibling pages may cover other model years than this one (2026). How these ranks are worked out.
- Tongue weight as a share of dry weight, 13.7%: third-largest of seventeen, between the 2475KBH (13.2%) and the 2870KTH (15.6%).
- Length, 35 ft 5 in: fourth-longest of seventeen, between the 2800KBH (33 ft 8 in) and the 3175RK (37 ft 11 in).
- Dry weight, 7,823 lb: fifth-heaviest of seventeen, between the 2775KFK (7,818 lb) and the 2870KTH (8,633 lb).
- Tongue weight, 1,070 lb: sixth-heaviest of seventeen, between the 2475KBH (845 lb) and the 3150KBH (1,100 lb).
- Cargo capacity, 1,977 lb: ninth-smallest of seventeen, between the 2650KRD (1,864 lb) and the 1900MMK (2,147 lb).
- Exterior height, 11 ft 4 in: shared with the 3175RK; of seventeen, eleven lower and four taller, nearest the 2410KML (11 ft 3 in) and the 3150KBH (11 ft 5 in).
Next to the 2775KFK, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 3010KBH is 5 lb heavier by dry weight, has 160 lb more cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 235 lb heavier, is 3 ft 5 in longer, stands 2 in taller, has a fresh tank 2 gal smaller and has a grey tank 30 gal smaller; the two publish the same black tank.
Next to the 2870KTH, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 3010KBH is 810 lb lighter by dry weight, has 2,740 lb less cargo capacity, has a tongue weight 280 lb lighter, is 2 ft 4 in longer, stands 1 ft 1 in lower and has a fresh tank 57 gal smaller; the two publish the same grey tank and black tank.

03 The Alta floorplan family
Alta is the broadest roster East to West publishes, and the spread is the reason to read the table rather than the floorplan numbers. Sixteen floorplans run from 3,998 lb dry on the single-axle LE plans to 10,334 lb at the top, which is not one trailer class but three: a pair of single-axle LE models, ten mainstream tandem-axle trailers, and two toy haulers plus one Xtreme plan at the heavy end. Crucially all of them are bumper pull. Tongue weight runs 470 to 1,350 lb across the whole roster, and even the toy haulers -- which East to West groups separately -- load 1,165 to 1,350 lb onto a ball, not a pin. That matters because a toy hauler badge usually implies a fifth wheel and here it does not. Cargo capacity runs 1,202 to 4,717 lb.

Alta is East to West's core travel-trailer line, published across sixteen floorplans for 2026 in four groupings: LE travel trailers, travel trailers, toy haulers and one Xtreme plan. East to West publishes dry weight, cargo capacity, hitch weight, all three exterior dimensions and all three tank capacities for every plan on the roster. It publishes no GVWR for any of the sixteen, so the loaded rating row reads not published rather than showing dry weight plus cargo capacity added together -- that sum is an inference, not a rating, and a trailer's real limit can sit below it. One plan, 2810KIK, is marked dealer stock only and is catalogued with its weights rather than profiled. East to West is a Forest River company, but Alta is not a Forest River-badged trailer and its specifications come from East to West's own channel.
04 Notes on this floorplan
What East to West does not publish for this line
Sleeping capacity, axle count, tire size and MSRP are absent from East to West's specification channel for Alta, so they are absent here. They are not estimated from the segment, not carried over from a sibling floorplan, and not taken from a dealer listing quoting itself. A tire size in particular is a safety-relevant number that differs between two codes a digit apart, and this site does not guess one.
There is no factory GVWR for this trailer
East to West publishes dry weight, cargo capacity and tongue weight for every Alta floorplan and publishes no GVWR for any of them. The factory's own glossary defines cargo capacity as GVWR minus UVW, which means the rating can be worked out - and a figure you worked out is not a figure the manufacturer published, so this page does not print one. Use the weight label on the trailer itself, which every East to West unit carries.
Weigh it before you tow it
East to West calls its unloaded weight an estimated average for a standard build, and options and dealer add-ons change it, so weigh your own trailer loaded the way you travel (how figures are verified).
05 How it compares
7,818 lbs dry against this plan's 7,823 lbs, a difference of 5 lbs.
8,633 lbs dry, 810 lbs more than this plan, and 4,717 lbs of cargo capacity against this one's 1,977 lbs.
4,717 lbs of cargo capacity, the highest of the 17 Alta floorplans profiled here. If payload rather than length is the binding constraint, that is the plan to compare against.
06 Loading it for a trip
A full 53-gallon fresh tank is about 440 lb of water, 22% of the 3010KBH’s 1,977 lb cargo capacity, leaving 1,537 lb. Across 17 Alta floorplans the water share runs 13% to 37%, and 8 give up more than this one. Nearest on that share: Alta 2400KTH at 21% and Alta 1600MRB-LE at 23%.
07 Where this floorplan sits
Closest sibling: the Alta 2650KRD, nearest on the published figures. It differs on 4 of the 7 fields both publish (this plan first): length 35 ft 5 in vs 30 ft 2 in; dry weight 7,823 lb vs 6,733 lb; cargo capacity 1,977 lb vs 1,864 lb; hitch weight 1,070 lb vs 750 lb. They match on fresh tank, grey tank and black tank.

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 8 recall campaigns and 2 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the Alta line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).
Too few reports to show a pattern. 2 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover power train and unknown or other.
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Alta line page.
