01 What makes it unique

The 287BH is Arctic Wolf’s most popular family plan and the one built for a crowd on a light pin. It pairs a private front queen bedroom with a private rear bunkhouse (double bunks at 54 by 74 inches and a wardrobe), a U-shaped dinette, a tri-fold sleeper sofa, a 39-inch LED television, an electric fireplace, a walk-in pantry and a deluxe outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator and an LP griddle, under a single slide, sleeping up to ten. At a 1,325-pound dry pin it carries the lowest pin weight in the line, and at about 8,368 pounds dry it is half-ton-friendly. It rides the full Arctic Wolf build: a 2-inch full-cage aluminum frame, laminated exterior walls under the Elemental Protection Package, an enclosed heated underbelly and automatic leveling.

Forest River publishes an 8,368-pound UVW and a 2,027-pound CCC, which derive a 10,395-pound GVWR (the manufacturer’s own definition is that CCC equals GVWR minus UVW), against the line’s lowest dry pin of 1,325 pounds. A 15,000-BTU central air conditioner (prepped for a second), a 35,000-BTU furnace, a 5,200-BTU electric fireplace, a tankless water heater, a 10-cubic-foot 12-volt refrigerator, solid-surface counters and an 81-gallon Niagara fresh tank are standard, with a mandatory 100-watt Juice Pack solar package (expandable to 500 watts), a Series 27 battery and a 30-amp charge controller, under a 20-foot power awning.

US street pricing commonly runs in the mid-to-high $40,000s. It is the family, multi-sleeper Arctic Wolf. For a family that wants a private front bedroom, a private rear bunkhouse, a U-shaped dinette and a deluxe outdoor kitchen — sleeping up to ten on the line’s lowest pin, towable behind a properly rated half-ton-plus or three-quarter-ton truck — the 287BH is the line’s most popular family plan.

03 The Arctic Wolf floorplan family

Arctic Wolf is Forest River's value-mid full-size fifth wheel — a step below the brand's own premium-mainstream sibling Sandpiper, and the value entry to Forest River full-size fifth-wheel ownership. Six of the most distinct 2026 floorplans are profiled here in full. The 287BH on this page is highlighted; each other plan links to its own page.

Arctic Wolf is Forest River's value-mid full-size fifth wheel — a step below the brand's own premium-mainstream sibling Sandpiper, and the value entry to Forest River full-size fifth-wheel ownership. Six of the most distinct 2026 floorplans are profiled here in full; the remaining catalogued retail plans (285OPT, 387ML, 3650SUITE, 3750SUITE, 38DST, 3950SUITE) and one Dealer Stock Only plan (the rear-deck 3800DECK) are listed on the hub but not profiled. Every plan is built on a 2-inch full-cage aluminum frame with laminated exterior walls under the Elemental Protection Package, an enclosed and heated underbelly with 12-volt tank heat pads, automatic leveling, a 50-amp service, a tankless water heater, a 35,000-BTU furnace, a 5,200-BTU electric fireplace, a 15,000-BTU central air conditioner, solid-surface counters, an 81-gallon Niagara fresh tank line-wide and a mandatory 100-watt Juice Pack solar package (expandable to 500 watts) with a Series 27 battery and a 30-amp charge controller as standard. Hitch weight, UVW and CCC are published per plan on the Forest River factory page; GVWR is derived as UVW plus CCC per the manufacturer's own definition. The numeric per-axle GAWR is not separately published for Arctic Wolf (the line splits between 7,000-lb and 8,000-lb tandem axle groups by plan). UVW is a factory estimated average; real loaded pin weights run higher — always weigh the loaded coach and confirm against your truck's payload and rear-axle ratings.

04 What owners & reviewers report

Most popular family plan, lowest pin in the line

A private front bedroom plus a private rear bunkhouse sleeping up to ten, on the line’s lowest dry pin of 1,325 lb — a half-ton-friendly family coach.

Private rear bunkhouse + walk-in pantry

A dedicated rear bunkhouse with 54-by-74-inch double bunks and a wardrobe, plus a walk-in pantry — real separated kids’ space and galley storage.

Deluxe outdoor kitchen standard

A deluxe outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator and an LP griddle — a full second galley at the campsite, standard on the family plan.

Single slide, but a big floorplan

It sleeps up to ten on a single slide, so confirm the live-in feel suits you; a dealer listing once typo’d the dry weight (8,750) and payload (1,645), but the factory UVW is 8,368 lb and CCC 2,027 lb (the dealer’s GVWR 10,395 confirms factory).
