01 What makes it unique

The Rockwood Geo Pro G20SBH is a compact bunkhouse packed with smart features and one of only two dual-axle plans in the line, which gives it improved towing stability and durability on the road. A front Murphy bed folds up into a sofa by day, rear bunk beds give the kids their own space, and a slide-out dinette widens the interior and adds another berth, with a functional kitchen and a full bathroom between them. A standard roof-solar prep and a 16-foot power awning support off-grid camping. Nominal capacity is five — genuinely a family trailer in a body just over 21 feet and around 4,000 pounds, easy to tow while still sleeping the whole family.

At 4,078 pounds unloaded and 21 feet 2 inches, the G20SBH is a comfortable half-ton tow, with the dual axle adding stability and a margin of safety; its 1,417-pound cargo capacity is healthy for a family loading water and gear. Forest River does not print a GVWR on the factory detail page, so it is derived as unloaded weight plus cargo capacity, landing at 5,495 pounds. Standard equipment is the full-feature Geo Pro build: a 12V refrigerator, a convection microwave, a 13,500-BTU A/C, a 20,000-BTU furnace, Dexter Torflex torsion axles, nitrogen-filled off-road tires with TPMS, a Climate Protection Package (12V heated tanks and radiant-foil insulation) and a roof-solar prep with a side port. Tanks are a balanced 31-gallon fresh, 27-gallon grey and 27-gallon black.

Construction is the Geo Pro laminate recipe — complete composite Azdel walls over a 6-sided full-aluminum cage, a vacuum-laminated fiberglass roof, aluminum floor joists and a high-gloss fiberglass cap — the same construction tier as Forest River’s r·pod and No Boundaries and a step above the metal-sided value lines. An optional Power Package adds 600 watts of solar and a 3,000-watt inverter for off-grid family camping, and Geo Pro is badge-engineered with the Flagstaff E-Pro. For a family that wants real bunks, a convertible Murphy bed and off-grid capability in a light, half-ton-towable composite trailer with the stability of a dual axle, the G20SBH is the family plan in the profiled set.

Loaded weight budget

Loaded weight budget for the G20SBHHorizontal bar. Dry weight 4,078 pounds, then cargo capacity 1,417 pounds, against a GVWR of 5,495 pounds. Dry tongue weight 510 pounds on the same scale.GVWR 5,495 lbsDry 4,078 lbsCargo capacity 1,417 lbsDry tongue weight 510 lbs — same scale
Drawn from this page’s published figures. The bar runs from empty to GVWR: the dark band is dry weight, the light band is everything you are allowed to add — water, propane, batteries and gear all come out of it. This plan’s GVWR was derived as dry weight plus cargo capacity because no source published it directly.

Overall length and height are drawn true to scale from the published figures, and the end view uses the same scale. Axle count is as published; axle position, wheel size and the nose profile are schematic. This is a size drawing, not a floorplan, and not a claim about body shape.

Published tank capacities on one scale. A full fresh tank is about 259 lbs of water — roughly 18% of this plan’s 1,417 lb cargo capacity, before you load anything else.

These graphics are generated from the same verified record that builds the table above, and are published under this site’s own licence — nothing here is traced from, or derived from, a manufacturer drawing or photo. Where a figure is not published for this plan, the graphic that would need it is omitted rather than estimated. The full record is in the published dataset.

What it takes to tow this

Built from this floorplan’s verified weights. We publish the trailer side only.

Minimum tow rating your vehicle needs5,495 lb*
Published dry tongue weight510 lb
Loaded tongue weight, typical range550–824 lb
Minimum receiver hitch capacity5,495 lb towed / 824 lb tongue
The tongue weight above is dry. It is the figure the manufacturer publishes for an empty trailer. Loaded — with water, propane, batteries and your gear — it runs higher, which is why the range row uses loaded weight. Sizing your truck off the dry number under-budgets your payload.
The arithmetic that actually binds. Open your driver’s door and read the payload figure on the yellow-and-white sticker — that number is specific to your truck as built. Subtract from it: loaded tongue weight (use the range above), every passenger, everything in the bed and cab, and the weight-distributing hitch itself where one is used. What is left is your margin. Payload, not tow rating, is what most half-ton owners run out of first.

We do not publish tow ratings for specific trucks. A single model can vary by thousands of pounds depending on engine, axle ratio, cab, drivetrain and package — the only authoritative figure is the one on your own door jamb. Loaded tongue percentages are industry convention for travel trailers (10–15% of loaded weight), not a measurement of this unit. Hitch classes are not used here as a rating: SAE J684 covers trailers to 10,000 lb GVWR and does not define Class V, and capacity boundaries differ between manufacturers — read the rating stamped on your hitch. The GVWR marked * is derived from published dry weight plus published cargo capacity, not printed as a single figure by the source.

03 Rockwood Geo Pro floorplan family

Forest River’s Rockwood Geo Pro (badge-engineered as the Flagstaff E-Pro) is an off-grid, ultra-light travel-trailer line built “incredibly lightweight” to tow behind fuel-efficient crossovers and smaller SUVs. The G20SBH on this page is highlighted; the other profiled plans link to their own pages. Profiled here are breadth-spanning floorplans — from the sub-1,800-pound LE micro-trailer to the dual-axle family bunkhouse — with the rest of the roster catalogued on the line hub and profiled in demand order. Every Geo Pro plan is built on a 6-sided aluminum cage with Azdel composite walls and a vacuum-laminated roof, rides on bigger off-road tires, and ships with a standard roof-solar prep, a 12V refrigerator and a 20,000-BTU furnace for boondocking-ready, extended-season camping.

Every Rockwood Geo Pro plan uses complete composite (Azdel) wall construction over a 6-sided full-aluminum frame, with a vacuum-laminated fiberglass roof, aluminum floor joists and a high-gloss fiberglass cap — the same construction tier as Forest River’s r·pod and No Boundaries, a step above the metal-sided stick-and-tin value lines. The identity is off-grid and overlanding-focused: bigger nitrogen-filled off-road tires with TPMS, MORryde solid supported steps, Dexter Torflex torsion axles (the LE plans use leaf-spring axles), a Climate Protection Package with 12V heated tanks and radiant-foil insulation, and a standard roof-solar prep with a solar side port. A 12V refrigerator, a convection microwave, a 20,000-BTU furnace and a 13,500-BTU A/C are standard on the full-feature plans; the cost-friendly LE plans ship a leaf-spring chassis, a single battery and LP tank and a 10K A/C. An optional Power Package adds 600 watts of solar and a 3,000-watt inverter, and a Sunset Seeker Package adds an 1,800-watt inverter, frameless windows and the AIR 360+ antenna. Geo Pro is badge-engineered with the Flagstaff E-Pro (the same trailers under two nameplates), though the 2027 Geo Pro and E-Pro floorplan codes have diverged, so the twin is noted at the line level rather than plan-for-plan. Lengths, weights and equipment change with options and model year — always confirm against the unit’s own weight sticker. Additional Geo Pro floorplans are catalogued on the line hub.

04 What owners & reviewers report

A genuine family bunkhouse in a compact body

Rear bunk beds plus a front Murphy bed and a convertible dinette sleep five in a body just over 21 feet — family sleeping space in a trailer light and short enough for easy towing.

One of only two dual-axle Geo Pro plans

The tandem axle adds towing stability, durability and a margin of safety over the single-axle compacts — a real benefit for a family trailer that gets loaded up and towed often.

Healthy 1,417-lb payload and off-grid build

A 1,417-lb cargo capacity gives a family real loading margin, and standard Climate Protection and roof-solar prep (plus an optional 600-watt Power Package) make it boondocking-ready.

The Murphy bed must be stowed daily

The front bed has to be made up and folded away each morning to use the sofa — a minor daily chore that comes with the convertible-bed layout.

Compact tanks for a family

At 31/27/27 gallons the tanks are sized for a light compact, not a long family stay — plan on more frequent fills and dumps with five aboard.

Selling price runs below the placard

Dealer MSRP placards run into the high-$30,000s while selling prices commonly land near $31,000–$32,000; the figure shown is dealer-typical selling and is flagged.

06 Loading it for a trip

This floorplan carries its water comfortably. A full 31-gallon fresh tank is roughly 18% of the 1,417-pound cargo capacity, leaving the G20SBH with a usable gear budget even when you tow full.

Weight budgetFigureWhat it means
Cargo capacity as published (CCC)1,417 lbEverything you add: gear, water, propane, batteries, food, people’s belongings.
Fresh tank filled (31 gal × 8.34 lb)−259 lbWater is the heaviest thing most owners add, and it is added first.
Cargo budget left with a full fresh tank1,158 lb18% of this plan’s capacity is spent before a single bag is loaded.
Per sleeping position, water aboard232 lbA rough share of what is left across the 5 berths this plan sleeps.

The published dry tongue weight of 510 pounds is 13% of the 4,078-pound dry weight, which sits inside the 10–15% band usually quoted for stable towing. It is still a dry figure: loading the front pass-through and the fresh tank both push it up.

Nothing above changes the ceiling. Loaded to its 5,495-pound GVWR the G20SBH is towing 1,417 pounds more than its 4,078-pound dry figure, and that is the number your vehicle has to be rated for — not the brochure weight.

Tank balance is generous here: 31 gallons of fresh against 27 grey and 27 black, so waste capacity keeps pace with supply and the fresh tank is the constraint that ends a dry stay.

07 Where this floorplan sits

Ranked by GVWR, the G20SBH sits 11 of 12 in the Rockwood Geo Pro line: 5,495 pounds against a line that runs from 2,749 to 5,498 pounds. That position is the useful thing to know, because the plans immediately either side of it are the real alternatives.

Either side of it in the same line: Rockwood Geo Pro G20SFB is 360 pounds lighter at 5,135 lb GVWR; and Rockwood Geo Pro G20SFK is 3 pounds heavier at 5,498 lb GVWR.

Against the G20SBH: the Jay Feather 16DB is 5 lb heavier and 2 ft longer and sleeps 3 more; the Jay Flight 212QB is 5 lb heavier and 4 ft longer. Those are differences in the published numbers only — what they cost, how they are built and how they live are separate questions each of those pages answers on its own terms.

Those are the nearest travel trailers from other lines by weight — one per line, picked by proximity on that figure and nothing else. They are listed so the same tow vehicle can be checked against real alternatives, not because they are equivalent inside; layout, build and price diverge sharply across that group.

For scale, the Rockwood Geo Pro floorplans profiled here run 1,779 to 4,213 pounds dry and 15 to 21 feet of exterior length across 12 plans. Where a floorplan falls in that spread usually says more about which vehicle can tow it, and which site it fits, than the layout name does.

Every profiled floorplan in this line, with the full weight table, is on the Rockwood Geo Pro line hub.

08 Common questions about the G20SBH

How much does the G20SBH weigh?

It leaves the factory at 4,078 pounds dry, and its manufacturer-set loaded ceiling (GVWR) is 5,495 pounds. Real towing weight lands between the two and depends entirely on what you load. Use the GVWR when matching a tow vehicle; the dry figure is only useful for comparing floorplans against each other.

How much can the G20SBH carry?

Cargo carrying capacity is 1,417 pounds. That is the whole budget: water, propane, batteries, gear and everything you bring. Filling the 31-gallon fresh tank uses about 259 pounds of that.

What is the tongue weight of the G20SBH?

The published dry tongue weight is 510 pounds. It is measured empty; loaded, it runs higher, and it comes out of your tow vehicle’s payload rather than its tow rating.

What size tow vehicle does the G20SBH need?

Your vehicle needs a tow rating of at least 5,495 pounds — this floorplan’s GVWR — and enough payload left over for the hitch load, passengers and anything in the bed. This site does not publish tow ratings for specific vehicles, because one truck model varies by thousands of pounds across engine, axle ratio, cab and package. The figure that governs is the payload sticker on your own door jamb.

How many people does the G20SBH sleep?

It is rated to sleep 5. Rated sleeping positions include convertible furniture, so count the beds against how you actually travel rather than against the number.

What are the tank capacities on the G20SBH?

Fresh 31 gallons, grey 27 gallons, black 27 gallons. Tank sizes set how long the floorplan can sit away from hookups, and the smallest of the three is what ends the stay.

How long is the G20SBH?

Exterior length is 21' 2". Measure against your site length and your storage before committing — the exterior figure is the one that has to fit, and it includes the tongue or pin box.

Every figure in these answers is read from this page’s verified specification table. Where the manufacturer publishes nothing, the question is not answered rather than estimated.

09 What this page publishes, and what it does not

This catalog tracks 18 specification fields per floorplan. Named sources publish 17 of them for the G20SBH. The rest are not shown, because the alternative is reading a figure across from a sibling floorplan or from what the segment usually does — and a number nobody published is worth less than an admitted gap.

Not published for this floorplan: interior height, tire size (a tire description is published, a size is not). If you find one of these in a manufacturer document for this plan, it belongs on this page.

The completeness figure at the foot of this page (94%) measures the same thing on the full field set: it is a measurement of how much this floorplan’s manufacturer publishes, not of how much research went into the page.

Values on this page carrying an asterisk were derived by arithmetic from published figures, or come from a single source, rather than being printed directly by the manufacturer. The flag travels with the number into the downloadable spec sheet.

How every figure here was sourced and checked is set out on the methodology page.

11 NHTSA safety record

NHTSA files neither recalls nor complaints under the name Rockwood Geo Pro. That is a filing convention and not a clean record — the roster sits under the parent line, Rockwood & Flagstaff.

Recall coverage is not complete — our harvest of NHTSA’s recall API ran 1,556 queries, of which 0 failed and 242 returned an explicit zero. A line can still be under-reported where NHTSA files a roster under a parent name, or where a match rests on the wording of the recall rather than its model field. Complaints come from the complete bulk file but are unverified and self-selected: a high count tracks how many units a line sold at least as much as how well it was built. Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Rockwood & Flagstaff line page.
