01 What makes it unique
The 390DB is the top of the roster and the only Zinger over 40 feet. CrossRoads describes a luxurious king bed, a cozy queen bed and a living area with a 50-inch TV centre and a fireplace, plus a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a large shower, sleeping eight on three slides and two entries. It is also the only plan on the roster with an 84-gallon black tank — every other Zinger runs 39, 42 or 60 gallons. The 2025 published standards for the line list a Super Flex Alpha roof under a limited lifetime warranty, a heated and enclosed underbelly, front diamond plate, pass-through storage, a tankless water heater and an electric awning.
CrossRoads publishes a 13,200-pound GVWR against a 10,517-pound dry weight, leaving 2,683 pounds of cargo capacity — the largest margin on the roster. The dry tongue is 1,244 pounds, which is 52 pounds lighter than the 340BH's despite five extra feet of body. At 10,517 pounds dry and 13,200 loaded this is a three-quarter-ton trailer at minimum and comfortably a one-ton tow.
One quirk from the 2025 published standards worth knowing: the line's electric stabilizer jacks are listed as standard on every plan except the 390DB, which the brochure marks as manual. It is the only plan on the 2026 roster carrying that exception.

These graphics are generated from the same verified record that builds the table above, and are published under this site’s own licence — nothing here is traced from, or derived from, a manufacturer drawing or photo. Where a figure is not published for this plan, the graphic that would need it is omitted rather than estimated. The full record is in the published dataset.
What it takes to tow this
Built from this floorplan’s verified weights. We publish the trailer side only.
We do not publish tow ratings for specific trucks. A single model can vary by thousands of pounds depending on engine, axle ratio, cab, drivetrain and package — the only authoritative figure is the one on your own door jamb. Loaded tongue percentages are industry convention for travel trailers (10–15% of loaded weight), not a measurement of this unit. Hitch classes are not used here as a rating: SAE J684 covers trailers to 10,000 lb GVWR and does not define Class V, and capacity boundaries differ between manufacturers — read the rating stamped on your hitch.
03 The Zinger floorplan family
The Zinger is CrossRoads' full-size value travel trailer. It is one of three separate rosters in the Zinger family — the lighter Zinger Lite and the single-axle Zinger Lite Mini carry their own floorplan codes and their own weights, and nothing is shared between them. All nine 2026 Zinger plans are profiled in full and linked below. The 390DB on this page is highlighted.

Zinger is a cross-shop against Forest River's Salem / Wildwood and Aurora, Prime Time's Avenger, Keystone's Springdale, Coachmen's Catalina and Palomino's Puma. The family runs three separate rosters that share no floorplan codes: this full-size Zinger, the lighter tandem-axle Zinger Lite and the single-axle Zinger Lite Mini. The 2026 factory roster carries nine travel-trailer plans and all nine are profiled here in full. Dry weight, GVWR, cargo capacity and dry tongue weight are published per plan and each plan's dry weight plus cargo capacity equals its GVWR exactly, so the weights below are shown unflagged with no derivation. Dry weight is a factory estimate; real loaded tongue weights run higher — always weigh the loaded trailer and confirm against your vehicle's tow rating and payload.
04 What owners & reviewers report
The only 84-gallon black tank on the roster
Every other 2026 Zinger runs a 39, 42 or 60-gallon black tank. Paired with the 84-gallon grey, the 390DB has the longest waste range in the line.
Manual stabilizer jacks, per the 2025 standards
The 2025 published standards list electric stabilizer jacks across the line but mark the 390DB as manual — the only exception on the 2026 roster. This is a 2025 published figure, so confirm it on the unit.
The largest cargo margin on the roster
At 2,683 pounds the cargo capacity is the largest of the nine plans, five pounds ahead of the entry-level 280RB.
A lighter tongue than the 340BH
At 1,244 pounds the dry tongue is 52 pounds lighter than the 38-foot 340BH's despite five more feet of trailer.
Weigh the loaded trailer
Dry weight is a factory estimate and real loaded tongue weights run above the 1,244-pound base — weigh the loaded trailer and use a weight-distributing hitch.
05 How it compares
The 340BH — five feet shorter, 1,265 pounds lighter dry, rated for twelve instead of eight, with a heavier tongue.
The 340LR — the roster's other lounge-led big plan, 1,844 pounds lighter dry and about 8,800 dollars less.
Forest River's Salem / Wildwood — the volume value cross-shop with comparable 40-foot plans.
06 Loading it for a trip
This floorplan carries its water comfortably. A full 45-gallon fresh tank is roughly 14% of the 2,683-pound cargo capacity, leaving the 390DB with a usable gear budget even when you tow full.
| Weight budget | Figure | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Cargo capacity as published (CCC) | 2,683 lb | Everything you add: gear, water, propane, batteries, food, people’s belongings. |
| Fresh tank filled (45 gal × 8.34 lb) | −375 lb | Water is the heaviest thing most owners add, and it is added first. |
| Cargo budget left with a full fresh tank | 2,308 lb | 14% of this plan’s capacity is spent before a single bag is loaded. |
| Per sleeping position, water aboard | 288 lb | A rough share of what is left across the 8 berths this plan sleeps. |
The published dry tongue weight of 1,244 pounds is 12% of the 10,517-pound dry weight, which sits inside the 10–15% band usually quoted for stable towing. It is still a dry figure: loading the front pass-through and the fresh tank both push it up.
Nothing above changes the ceiling. Loaded to its 13,200-pound GVWR the 390DB is towing 2,683 pounds more than its 10,517-pound dry figure, and that is the number your vehicle has to be rated for — not the brochure weight.
Tank balance is generous here: 45 gallons of fresh against 84 grey and 84 black, so waste capacity keeps pace with supply and the fresh tank is the constraint that ends a dry stay.
07 Where this floorplan sits
Of the 9 Zinger floorplans profiled here, the 390DB carries the highest GVWR at 13,200 pounds. It is the top of the line by weight, which makes tow-vehicle capability the first thing to settle rather than the last.
Either side of it in the same line: Zinger 340BH is 1,750 pounds lighter at 11,450 lb GVWR.
| Comparable travel trailers | GVWR (lb) | Dry (lb) | Sleeps | Length |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 390DB | 13,200 | 10,517 | 8 | 43 ft 1 in |
| Puma Vista 38VFL | 13,214 | 11,414 | — | 40 ft 3 in |
| Cherokee Timberwolf 39AL | 13,180 | 11,994 | — | 45 ft 0 in |
| Cyclone 2615 | 13,250 | 8,640 | 4 | 34 ft 8 in |
| Seismic 265 | 13,250 | 8,640 | 6 | — |
| Campsite Reserve 39GB | 13,255 | 8,919 | — | 40 ft 7 in |
| Cascade 39TNC | 13,140 | 8,885 | — | 40 ft 7 in |
Against the 390DB: the Puma Vista 38VFL is 14 lb heavier and 3 ft shorter; the Cherokee Timberwolf 39AL is 20 lb lighter and 2 ft longer; the Cyclone 2615 is 50 lb heavier and 8 ft shorter and sleeps 4 fewer. Those are differences in the published numbers only — what they cost, how they are built and how they live are separate questions each of those pages answers on its own terms.
Those are the nearest travel trailers from other lines by weight — one per line, picked by proximity on that figure and nothing else. They are listed so the same tow vehicle can be checked against real alternatives, not because they are equivalent inside; layout, build and price diverge sharply across that group.
For scale, the Zinger floorplans profiled here run 6,822 to 10,517 pounds dry and 33 to 43 feet of exterior length across 9 plans. Where a floorplan falls in that spread usually says more about which vehicle can tow it, and which site it fits, than the layout name does.
Every profiled floorplan in this line, with the full weight table, is on the Zinger line hub.
08 Common questions about the 390DB
How much does the 390DB weigh?
It leaves the factory at 10,517 pounds dry, and its manufacturer-set loaded ceiling (GVWR) is 13,200 pounds. Real towing weight lands between the two and depends entirely on what you load. Use the GVWR when matching a tow vehicle; the dry figure is only useful for comparing floorplans against each other.
How much can the 390DB carry?
Cargo carrying capacity is 2,683 pounds. That is the whole budget: water, propane, batteries, gear and everything you bring. Filling the 45-gallon fresh tank uses about 375 pounds of that.
What is the tongue weight of the 390DB?
The published dry tongue weight is 1,244 pounds. It is measured empty; loaded, it runs higher, and it comes out of your tow vehicle’s payload rather than its tow rating.
What size tow vehicle does the 390DB need?
Your vehicle needs a tow rating of at least 13,200 pounds — this floorplan’s GVWR — and enough payload left over for the hitch load, passengers and anything in the bed. This site does not publish tow ratings for specific vehicles, because one truck model varies by thousands of pounds across engine, axle ratio, cab and package. The figure that governs is the payload sticker on your own door jamb.
How many people does the 390DB sleep?
It is rated to sleep 8. Rated sleeping positions include convertible furniture, so count the beds against how you actually travel rather than against the number.
What are the tank capacities on the 390DB?
Fresh 45 gallons, grey 84 gallons, black 84 gallons. Tank sizes set how long the floorplan can sit away from hookups, and the smallest of the three is what ends the stay.
How long is the 390DB?
Exterior length is 43' 1". Measure against your site length and your storage before committing — the exterior figure is the one that has to fit, and it includes the tongue or pin box.
Every figure in these answers is read from this page’s verified specification table. Where the manufacturer publishes nothing, the question is not answered rather than estimated.
09 What this page publishes, and what it does not
This catalog tracks 18 specification fields per floorplan. Named sources publish 16 of them for the 390DB. The rest are not shown, because the alternative is reading a figure across from a sibling floorplan or from what the segment usually does — and a number nobody published is worth less than an admitted gap.
Not published for this floorplan: exterior width, interior height, tire size (a tire description is published, a size is not). If you find one of these in a manufacturer document for this plan, it belongs on this page.
The completeness figure at the foot of this page (93%) measures the same thing on the full field set: it is a measurement of how much this floorplan’s manufacturer publishes, not of how much research went into the page.
Values on this page carrying an asterisk were derived by arithmetic from published figures, or come from a single source, rather than being printed directly by the manufacturer. The flag travels with the number into the downloadable spec sheet.
How every figure here was sourced and checked is set out on the methodology page.
11 NHTSA safety record
This floorplan belongs to the Zinger line, and NHTSA holds 16 recall campaigns and 14 owner complaints against that line. They are separate records and are not added together — a recall is a manufacturer-confirmed defect with a remedy; a complaint is one owner’s account, which NHTSA does not verify.
What to look at on a used one. Across the 14 complaints filed on this line the most-reported components are equipment (21%), structure (21%) and suspension (21%). That is where owners of this family have had trouble, so it is where an inspection is worth the time.
Recall coverage is not complete — our harvest of NHTSA’s recall API ran 1,556 queries, of which 0 failed and 242 returned an explicit zero. A line can still be under-reported where NHTSA files a roster under a parent name, or where a match rests on the wording of the recall rather than its model field. Complaints come from the complete bulk file but are unverified and self-selected: a high count tracks how many units a line sold at least as much as how well it was built. Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Zinger line page.
