01 What makes it unique
Alliance RV’s 2026 Avenue brochure prints a dry weight of 8,270 lb and a GVWR of 10,995 lb for the 23ML, with a pin weight of 1,200 lb. The brochure prints no cargo carrying capacity, so none is shown here, and none is worked out by subtracting one published figure from the other. The trailer’s own federal weight label, inside the door, carries its cargo capacity as built.
Alliance lists it under Avenue’s All-Access fifth wheels in that brochure, at 27' 11" long, with 48 gal fresh, 106 gal grey and 53 gal black tanks. Fresh water weighs about 8.3 lb per US gallon, so a full fresh tank adds roughly 398 lb before anything else is loaded.
Among the 12 Avenue floorplans whose dry weight Alliance’s 2026 brochure prints, it is number 2 by dry weight, in a range from 7,800 lb to 13,400 lb. Every figure in that comparison comes from the same brochure, for the same model year.
Every number on this page is read from Alliance RV’s 2026 Avenue brochure (marked “New for 2026”, print date 19 September 2025). Alliance does not print exterior height or width, sleeping capacity or tire size against this floorplan there, so those rows read as not published.
How the 23ML differs from the other ten Avenue fifth wheels. Most distinctive first. How these ranks are worked out.
- Pin weight, 1,200 lb: lightest of ten; next are the 25RL and 26RD (1,350 lb).
- Pin weight as a share of dry weight, 14.5%: smallest of ten; next are the 25RL and 29RL (15.5%).
- Length, 27 ft 11 in: shortest of ten; next is the 26RD (28 ft 10 in).
- Dry weight, 8,270 lb: second-lightest of ten, between the 26RD (7,800 lb) and the 25RL (8,700 lb).
- GVWR, 10,995 lb: lowest of ten, level with the 25RL and 26RD; next is the 29RL (11,895 lb).
- Fresh tank, 48 gal: smallest of ten, level with the 25RL, 26RD and two others; next are the 32RLS, 33RKS and three others (98 gal).
Next to the 26RD, the nearest lighter floorplan by dry weight, the 23ML is 470 lb heavier by dry weight, has a pin weight 150 lb lighter, is 11 in shorter and has a grey tank 53 gal larger; the two publish the same GVWR, fresh tank and black tank.
Next to the 25RL, the nearest heavier floorplan by dry weight, the 23ML is 430 lb lighter by dry weight, has a pin weight 150 lb lighter, is 2 ft shorter and has a grey tank 53 gal larger; the two publish the same GVWR, fresh tank and black tank.

Towing it
Check your vehicle. Enter the ratings from your owner’s manual and the door-pillar placard.
Compares your figures with this page’s published GVWR (10,995 lb) and the upper loaded pin estimate (2,749 lb, a rule of thumb). Your vehicle’s placard and the trailer’s own weight label govern.
Loaded range: 15–25% of GVWR on the pin, a rule of thumb, not a measurement of this unit. No truck ratings or hitch classes (why; NHTSA, DOT HS 809 433).

04 Notes on this floorplan
What Alliance RV does not publish for the 23ML
No cargo carrying capacity, exterior height or width, sleeping capacity or tire size is printed against this floorplan in Alliance’s 2026 brochure, so those rows read as not published. Nothing is filled from a sibling floorplan, a different model year or a dealer listing.
Read the label on the trailer
Federal rules put a load-carrying label inside every RV trailer: its unloaded weight with full propane, its cargo carrying capacity and its GVWR (49 CFR 571.110 and 571.120). Those figures come from the trailer itself and govern the towing decision.
05 How it compares

11 NHTSA safety record
NHTSA holds 6 recall campaigns and 4 owner complaints (model years 2005 on) against the Avenue line (a recall and a complaint are not the same thing).
Too few reports to show a pattern. 4 complaints have been filed on this line — not enough to say what fails most often. They cover equipment, parking brake, structure and suspension.
Reports that name the 23ML
1 of those record name this floorplan specifically rather than the line as a whole.
| Type | Date | Reference | What it says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recall | 9 Apr 2025 | 25V218000 | An overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash. |
Recall coverage here is not complete, and complaints are owners’ unverified reports (how this record is built). Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy. Full tables are on the Avenue line page.
