01 What the Jay Flight SLX is
The Jay Flight is the best-selling travel trailer in America and has been for over two decades. For MY2026 Jayco marketed the whole value range as a single Jay Flight SLX line — that is the model year the floorplans below document. For MY2027 the flagship line is marketed as Jay Flight again, a 25th-anniversary model year whose thirty floorplans are profiled with verified weights on their own hub, with Jay Flight SLX continuing alongside it as the lighter tier — 2027 SLX units are listed in dealer inventory under the same plan codes used here. Jayco's own site lists Jay Flight and Jay Flight SLX as separate travel-trailer lines. The MY2027 tier structure reported by the dealer network (Jay Flight, SLX, Sport, Baja Edition, Bungalow) rests on dealer sources, our lowest tier, and is not yet confirmed against a Jayco specification page.
It is a conventional, value-positioned travel trailer — a laminated fiberglass body on a fully-integrated steel A-frame, with Jayco's Magnum Truss roof system, an enclosed and heated underbelly, and galvanized impact-resistant wheel wells. The pitch is proven build and broad choice at an accessible price, not off-grid systems or boutique design. Most plans are shore-power trailers with optional solar prep rather than standard solar.
The line's breadth is the point: compact single-axle couples' coaches and small bunkhouses at one end, dual-axle double-bunkhouses and outdoor-kitchen family flagships at the other, plus Murphy-bed, rear-kitchen, rear-living and toy-hauler layouts in between. Nearly every floorplan is also offered in a western "W" / Baja edition built at Jayco's western plant, with a wide-stance axle and off-road tires.

Eastern and western ("W") builds can differ in weight and equipment — always confirm against the unit's own weight sticker. ‡ The 12 plans added 2 Aug 2026 are verified against Jayco’s own factory floorplan pages, not RVUSA. That source publishes no MSRP, so the price cell is left empty for those rows rather than filled from an RVUSA sibling. Floorplan codes that carried into MY2027 are catalogued under the Jay Flight badge, which Jayco renamed the range to, and are not duplicated here.
Model year: the plans on this page are MY2026 records and stay accurate as such. Jayco's current catalogue is MY2027, published as Jay Flight. Source conflict, logged not resolved: Jayco's own MY2027 Jay Flight page gives two different ranges on the same URL — its spec block reads 16' 1"–40' 4", 2,450–8,655 lb, sleeps up to 11, while its prose on the same page reads 21' 5"–38' 4", sleeps four to eleven. Both are printed here as Jayco published them; we do not pick one. Checked 29 Jul 2026 against MY2027.
03 How the plans differ
The clearest divide is bunkhouse vs couples' coach. Bunkhouse plans (170BH, 175BH, 250BH, 261BHS, 284BHS) put a private front bed up front and bunks at the rear, maximizing berths — the segment's best-selling configuration. Couples' plans (210QB, and the rear-living and rear-kitchen layouts) trade those bunks for open living space, storage and a more adult-oriented floorplan.
The second divide is single vs dual axle, which closely tracks size and tow vehicle. The compact plans (170BH, 175BH and the smaller couples' layouts) ride on a single axle and tow behind mid-size SUVs; from roughly 26 feet up (210QB, 250BH and larger) they move to two axles for highway stability and need a half-ton or better. Length, weight, tank size and price all climb together up the range.
Within the bunkhouses, the steps are about capacity and features: 170BH/175BH sleep six on a single axle; 250BH adds a second axle and double-over-double bunks for eight; 261BHS adds a slide for ten; 284BHS adds length and an outdoor kitchen for serious week-plus family trips.
04 Model-year & line notes
2026 consolidation & renumbering
For 2026 the standard Jay Flight and Jay Flight SLX merged into one Jay Flight SLX line, and floorplans were renumbered. Older codes do not map one-to-one to new ones (for example the popular 174BH became 175BH, 264BH became 250BH, and 267BHS became 261BHS). Cross-reference by layout and length, not code, when comparing model years.
Eastern vs western ("W") builds
Jayco builds Jay Flight SLX trailers at both eastern (Indiana) and western plants. Western units carry a "W" suffix and a Baja/off-road specification — wide-stance axle, off-road tires, enclosed underbelly — and can differ slightly in weight and equipment from the eastern build of the same floorplan.
Sport Edition trim
Some smaller plans (such as the 170BH) are sold as Sport Edition, which pairs a smaller wall-mount air conditioner and a value equipment set with the lowest entry prices in the line. Larger plans step up to roof-mounted A/C and fuller standard kit.

Coverage is not complete, and this matters. These campaigns come from two passes over NHTSA’s public record: a query-by-query harvest of the recall API (1,556 queries, of which 0 failed and 242 returned an explicit zero), and a sweep of NHTSA’s complete recall flat file (325,650 rows), which added 46 campaigns the API harvest had missed. It missed them because the roster it worked from was built by a catalog endpoint that refuses most requests, so entire manufacturer names were never asked about — NHTSA files several Forest River sub-brands as makes of their own. Two limits remain: NHTSA sometimes files a roster under a parent name, and some matches below rest on the wording of the recall rather than its model field. Campaigns affecting only pre-2005 units fall outside this catalog’s range and are not listed. This page is a starting point, not a clearance. Check a specific VIN at NHTSA before you buy, and again before you tow.
